Pros:
I booked adjoining rooms at Lansdowne for my daughter's birthday celebration. The staff was welcoming, the rooms were tidy, the package we purchased was a good value and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed swimming, in-room movies, and s'mores by the firepit.
The booking agent was very helpful and arranged an extended checkout of noon at no additional charge.
The Chef and his team custom-made the birthday desserts and they were amazing. Huge highlight of the stay!
Breakfast was delicious and a good value. Server was a little slow in visiting our table, but they were transitioning to Sunday brunch around the time we dined.

Cons:
The $40 surcharge for a rollaway bed was too steep for us to take advantage of. We weren't adding a guest to our amenities, so I was confused by the high charge.

My husband and I, our families, and our bridal party stayed at Lansdowne during our wedding weekend, and we held our rehearsal dinner there. The resort is beautiful, and every moment we spent there was memorable. Staff went out of their way to make sure everything was running flawlessly, and they paid close attention to our parents and us to make sure we were given special care. Lansdowne will always be such an important place for us, and we try to spend a couple of nights there as often as we can to remember our wedding weekend. One of our favorite things to do in the area is explore Loudoun County wineries, and Lansdowne provides a perfect home base for a weekend of wine tasting. It's one of my very favorite places in northern Virginia.

The service was wonderful. Everyone was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms needed a major upgrade. They were Very old fashioned. We would have liked a microwave to reheat all the very expensive food we had leftover. The bed was average. I could feel the springs. The bed in the second room was better than the first. We moved from a room with full sized beds to a king bed. I didn’t even know they had hotel rooms with full sized beds. I thought they’d all have two queen. We wanted to move to a room with a bigger bed. But they said they were booked solid. That seemed unlikely because the parking lot wasn’t full. M

Anyway we were so uncomfortable on night one that the next day we requested a room with a king or two queen and they were able to love us.

My massage therapist was nice but ineffective. My back hurt worse when i left.

Dear Aisha C: Thank you for being our guest! We appreciate the compliments about our staff service and are happy they contributed positively to your stay. We are disappointed to hear that your guestroom did not meet your expectations. Due to the holiday, we were sold out of King rooms but were happy to move you for your final night. Again, thank you for being our guest and we hope that we will have another chance to host you in the future. ~Mehmet Bahtiyar, Director of Rooms

Our family of five stayed here on NYE and it was exceptional. With the resort hosting a NYE party (geared towards adults) and being fully booked for the onsite restaurants, we were made to feel like we were VIPs. We were seated immediately at the C&R restaurant and our server let us know about options for our little ones even though there is no "kids menu". We were checked on by a resort manager (not just our sever) multiple times during our dinner. When they found out it was my wife's birthday they brought us two glasses of champagne. After a great family dinner, we took advantage of the Smores by the Fire Pit option that we booked in advance, (although this can be tacked on after you arrive as well apparently). This was a great family moment for us. We spent just over an hour making smores with the kit we were provided and it made the night. The five of us sitting around the fire pit and teaching our 5 and 7 year olds the intricacies of how to roast, but not burn, a marshmallow was one of those moments that I will cherish forever. After the fire pit, we had just enough time to hit the indoor pool and hot tub to warm up (and tire out the kids) before heading back to the room where only my wife and 7 year old were able to power through and make it to midnight to ring in the New Year. The next morning was a great in-room breakfast and a round of putting before we checked out. For a one-night stay that was booked only three days prior, this stay well-exceeded any expectations I had set.

This was our first visit to Lansdowne and we will be back. From the moment we walked into the hotel, to the moment checked out, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and safe. The pool area was closed every two hours to be disinfected. Hotel employees and guests were required to wear masks inside. The facilities were immaculate. I believe they did a great job in the middle of a Pandemic.

Overall, we were impressed with our stay at Lansdowne! From the greetings at the entrance to the views overlooking the resort. We stayed here for 2 nights and visited local restaurants and wineries. In order to maintain safety at all times, we brought our own linens and cleant the room with personal wipes and gloves to ensure cleanliness. We were instructed to message a number in order to ask for needs and this was a very helpful gesture! I applaud all the staff at Lansdowne and hope to one day host our wedding here!

Get ready to pay full price for an empty resort, limited to no amenity usage and 0 food options....With that said my wife and I have gone here the last few years for our anniversary to take advantage of their lavish spa but this time was different. We had made a special stop on our way back from PA to NC to stop at our favorite resort over the 4th of July holiday weekend. For a Sunday prices were close to $300 per night and we had our new puppy with us so intended to pay $100 for the pet fee. The site we booked through showed a $100 pet fee and I confirmed that rate by checking from Hotels.com and Expedia.com but come to find out at the check-in desk it is $150 even for 1 night. In addition there is a $50 cash deposit and a $30+ dollar daily resort fee and my grand total for 1 night was pushing $500. The indoor pool was open to only lap swimming and reservations needed to use the pool only for 2 hour increments. I was hoping for a great experience but I'm pretty upset that I paid $500 for a basic/clean hotel and they raised the prices of their pet fee. I could understand if the place was packed and amenities all were open but the parking lot was at 10% capacity and nothing was open. I've reached out to upper management but 0 response so far. They seem to be taking advantage of customers during these challenging times by providing limited services but gouging us on the prices. I will not be back to visit with my family after being going here for last 3 years.

Dear GoPlaces53705384759: I are sorry to hear that you did not have an enjoyable stay with us especially since you have been a loyal customer for so many years. First, please email me at mbahtiyar@lansdowneresort.com and I will be happy to discuss your stay further. I did follow up with my reservation team regarding information that is shared on the site. All of our third party sites are set to send a welcome email before you arrive explaining specifically what is open at the resort. The $50 charge is a hold that is returned to your card once you depart. We do apologize that the pet fee was written incorrectly on the site and it has been changed to reflect the $150 fee. We are following the governors rules for Phase 3 regarding our pools which have to be at 75% capacity. In order to give everyone a chance to use the pools Monday-Thursday the pool is first come, first serve with 20 minute increments for cleaning procedures. Friday-Sunday we do require reservations in 2 hour increments to implement cleaning procedures and allow more guests a chance to be at the pool. Again, we are sorry you felt your experience was not up to our previous standards and do hope that you will reach to us so we can discuss and make this right. Our first baby step outside the safety of our home was better than expected because Landsdowne did an amazing job making us feel both welcomed and safe throughout our entire staycation. The staff wore face masks along with buttons that displayed their smiling faces; the pool, gym and surrounding areas were constantly sanitized and the staff quickly responded through a text messaging system for additional linen, hours for on-site amenities and so much more. While there aren't many options of where and how our family would travel during COVID19, Landsdowne is a resort we'd love to visit again.

Poor service quality. Some of the staff members were extremely rude and had an attitude. Regular amenities were not provided in the room and the standard excuse given was 'Covid 19'. For example, there was no shower gel or bathroom slippers or body lotion in the room and that was the excuse given. I think the hotel should be able to provide the amenities and throw away/sanitize any unopened bottles after the guest checks out.

There was a great atmosphere among the staff. Awesome facilities as we enjoyed very much using the pool, the gym, playing ping pong and attending the morning yoga class. We also appreciated the bikes that were in excellent condition with the easy access to the trail along the Potomac river.
