Clean and well maintained with wicked friendly staff. Large gravel padded sites, although ours was pretty un-level, with FHU, 30&50amp and cable.  The lower field sites are pretty much full sun, with the sites on the hill fairly well shaded. Paved access roads are a bit tight but manageable for larger rigs. Close to I64 and US250, which also leads to some road noise in this otherwise super quiet area, with any store you may need 20 minutes away. Our site also came with a huge deck, and our neighbors were baby cows and turkeys!

Misty Mountain is one of the best private campgrounds I have ever stayed in. The camp staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. While we were there one of our rescue dogs got loose. The staff there were “all hands on deck” in assisting to find her. They sent text messages to all campers and through their help our little girl was found! This place is great!

The campground is beautiful, the staff are great, and we had a great time! We were bummed because of the county burn ban (no bonfire and s’mores), but the staff arranged live music for the night. The musician was awesome and we had so much fun. Thank you!

I love coming to Misty Mountain Campground. I am greeted well. They respect the military by giving a discount. Bathrooms and shower facilities are great to have available. Close to wineries. Nice stay!!!

It’s an absolutely beautiful campground! Facilities are clean and well maintained. It was off season so the pool was closed but it looked lovely. Our site had two decks with a picnic table and a round table with chairs already set up. It over looked the river with wildlife in full view. Just LOVELY.

We were traveling Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway for 10 days. This was the third stop as we spent 2 overnights here so we could visit Monticello (short drive away). We chose Cabin 11 as there were only two of us. The cabin was perfect; large kitchen to cook in, which we did, comfy bed. Laundry facilities were also a plus. Staff was very accomodating. Highly recommend for this area.

When we first arrived, I thought to myself how can they say this is an RV resort? Why did I think that? Roads and sites were all gravel. But then after getting our site and doing some exploring, I changed my mind. They have enough amenities to qualify as a resort. A service that is becoming rare is trash pickup most of the day at your site. There is a country store, a laundry room, outdoor games like Cornhole and Horseshoes, Fitness Room with treadmill, elliptical bike, weights, and even a Total Gym. There is more, a Community/Club Room, Playground, Pool, Stocked Fish Pond, Outdoor Sports areas, and they even have some loaner equipment. In season on weekends there are Food Trucks, Live Music, and Planned Activities. Everything is really clean, too. Staff is friendly and you always see at least one of them almost anywhere you go inside the property. Our site was WC2 and at first I was taken aback as it was up against a park model. However no one was there making any noise nor to be honest did we ever even see them. Our rig, once set up, stepped out onto a deck that also had an added small wooden extension with a table for 6 with chairs--and they were comfortable. Our view was the creek and a few RV sites that were fairly far away. Our dog was in heaven. The only downsides (and they are not all that bad) were they appear to be doing some upgrades or additions and a large pile of gravel was just beyond the deck and a large pile of logs--big ones was beside the gravel (the dog loved those for exploring). We also had some issue with sitting outside because something really, really dead was down by the creek and it kind of ruined any idea of eating outdoors. Not the owners fault something was dead, but it was an issue for us. We did not report it because the patrolling staff for trash pickup surely noticed it? We were only there 3 nights, but did manage to do the fire road walk within the campground that ended up at the top/back of the area and it is really lovely. Back there were cabins and tent sites plus even more for RVs/TTs. And yes, another dog run and bath house. There was a second trail that looped to a pond that had some ducks and a mining sluice nearby. Things to do nearby are tours of Monticello and winery and distillery tours. We visited Silverback Distillery as my husband had seen it on our PBS channel and had it on his "Distillery Tour Bucket List". So far as groceries, there is a Harris Teeter supermarket nearby. We chose to go into the town of Crozet to shop at the local market (I cannot remember the name). We ended up at Harris Teeter once, too for a forgetten item, and it's more upscale if you are looking for specialty items. We enjoyed our visit and when in the area again, will definitely stay there. We give this campground resort our Happy Campers rating of 4/5.

We have stayed here 4 times over the past 6 years and have always had a great experience. We prefer the lower sites, but some on the hill are good too. The location is ideal, the whole campground is well maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. All around, it's just a great place to stay at a reasonable price. That's why we keep going back.
