Hotel's Favorite
Bella at check in was wonderful. Everything else was pretty basic. $190 doesn't get you much these days. Diamond reserved parking. Everything worked. The shower was high pressure. I slept well. The room did have a musty odor to it. No bacon at breakfast. Water bottles and lunch bags were also lined up in the morning for the taking. I wasn't about to get greedy, but it's a nice touch for those on the go.

In general, this is a nice hotel. The clerk at check in, Juliana, was very pleasant and efficient.
The pluses were plentiful, soft towels, comfortable chair, desk, refrigerator and microwave. The room did have a coffee maker - the old style hotel type but with adequate coffee and tea choices. The room was clean, the beds (2 doubles) were very comfortable.
The pillows weren't my favorite - they were more like the "my pillow" with clumps of filling. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling.
The internet was fine we didn't have any problem connecting and the signal was fine for our use.
The breakfast was typical Hampton with a very friendly attendant. There was a nice selection or breads, hard cooked eggs, fruit salad, fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and waffles.
This hotel is very conveniently located off I95 and we did not hear any traffic noise.

+1
Although there are many negative reviews of this place, we found it to be just what we wanted- a clean, quiet, and comfortable place to sleep enroute to Charleston! And our takeout meal from Pepe Mexican at the top of the hill was quite delicious!
The king bed had a spotless and new looking white douvet cover, with white cotton sheets. The self serve breakfast box came with yogurt and a bagel with cream cheese. With a coffee bar, it was a fine meal to grab and go.
My only suggestion is to provide packets of decaf coffee in addition to tea with the hot water carafe.
The management was very nice, and we found none of the negative comments to apply to our stay!

If this particular hotel is a representative of “Hilton” then should be ashamed! I have 2 request from the Hampton Inn in Chester, VA asking “ how did we do & what do you think”. Are you kidding me? My rating would be -1 star. I had family coming from out of town and made reservations for three nights for them. They got in late, I took them to the hotel & checked in, apparently they needed to “make an appointment “ to have sheets & towels changed. That was NEVER explained to us. We saw the room BUT they just want to sleep after a long drive. Returning the next night to a nightmare, beds & towels still laying around, when uncovered the mattress showed blood stains on the side. Unsanitary! Where else could you go at night and get a reasonable rate on short notice? Only after calling, complaining did they come to change towels & sheets for the last night! Make sure you as “do you change sheets & towels” & check the mattress!

The bedroom carpet was damp and sticky for days on end. The Internet was unusable (inordinately slow throughout and it repeatedly disconnects--you may not be able to perform even simple email functions on your devices). When the internet was available, it would work for a bit, then time-out. I experienced this with 3 different device platforms. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable, and after 5 days, the staff still had yet to fix the fire alarm. I won't be back.

Clean comfortable. Best shower of our long drive from New Orleans to NJ, during the pandemic. A short walk or car ride away, we enjoyed terrific Mexican food (Don Pepe) and a thoughtful mgr who kept the sparse diners well spaced in booths for good social distance. It was a joy to eat good food and a Mexican beer after all the difficult health newsof the day.
Buffet breakfast was closed by government order but the mgr made sure we had extra coffee for the morning.
A great stop.

Experience here was less than expected and we have stayed at many Hampton Inns over the years. First off, the key card wasn't programmed properly and every time my husband tried to use it (tried both cards) he couldn't get in. In the bathroom, the sink taps were reversed so the cold water ran out of the hot side and vice versa. Only found out because I ran the water forever and told hubby we had no hot water. Then he tried the cold tap and Voila! Grab bar on shower was literally falling off the wall - a real hazard if you needed to use it . Water in tub continually dripped. So much force was needed to flush the toilet I feared I would injure my wrist! Entire hotel looked tired. They also stopped the cookies in the evening and when we asked why we were told they hadn't had them since Covid. Now, we have stayed at other Hampton Inns last year and they all had cookies. I think this is just an excuse to get away with as little as possible. They also no longer have the morning newspaper. We actually had a return booking at this hotel a week later but cancelled it as a result of our unhappiness with the facility.

Thank you for telling us about your stay. We hired a new Chief Engineer in 2023 and he is very thorough in performing preventative maintenance and has done an excellent job in making sure that our guests do not have to face such issues. If any maintenance issue does come up he is very quick to address and correct so that our future guests will not be disappointed. I certainly hope that if you travel through our area again you will give us another chance to have you as our guests and I believe that you will see the improvement.

We have stayed here multiple times when we travel to Florida - it's convenient and we like some restaurants in the area. Very friendly and helpful staff - Elly was great.
The room had 2 double beds, refrigerator with a freezing compartment (very convenient when you are traveling), a table with 2 chairs, a wardrobe and small dresser. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a corner vanity so counter space is kind of limited. The mirror had been repainted and it was a rough job. 3 sets of towels. This hotel is certainly due to be remodeled.

The lady that checked us in was phenomenal. However, that’s where it ended. This was the absolute worst Hampton Inn we ever stayed in. The room smelled like cigarettes. It was in need of repair from a previous leak. It was gross. This was the only Hampton Inn we ever had to pay a $20 incidental fee and sign a waiver for no smoking. We would have left if we had the ability to. We needed to get some sleep passing through.

We chose this Hampton Inn because we were traveling home from a wedding and trusted the Hampton Inn brand. First impression was that is was tired and old. Decided to check in any way because that doesn’t mean dirty. Shouldn’t have given them the benefit of the doubt. Front desk staff seemed put out by having to check us in. Once we got to the room - Rugs were stained, sink was obviously not cleaned - hair from someone shaving in the sink, question if anything else was cleaned as well. Walls were stained and plaster torn away from wall, wallpaper piece mealed together and coming away from wall. Truly amazed that this place can still carry the Hampton Inn flag. Wish I would have read the reviews first!
