The DoubleTree by Hilton in Burlington Vermont receives mixed feedback from guests. While its prime location near attractions garners appreciation, many guests feel that the hotel doesn't provide good value for money, mentioning overpriced services and additional charges. The service is described as a hit or miss, with both commendable staff interactions and frustrating disorganization noted.
Cleanliness varies, with some guests encountering well-kept spaces and others disappointed by housekeeping. Room experiences are diverse, with comfortable stays marred by maintenance issues for some. Detailed Reviews
I booked this hotel direct by phone. I spoke with a lovely woman who asked me if I had any special requests. I mentioned I liked a quiet location as I am a light sleeper. She said she was going to write that in my reservation. When I arrived I asked about my room being in a quiet spot. It was met with “the hotel is full” and a bit of a tone. I said nothing further as chances are it would be fine. So the room I received shared a wall with the ice machine. Not a quiet spot at all for most people. It was a loud motor running constantly. The TV could not drown it out. If this didn’t happen it may have been a perfect stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was great. The shower/toilet being separate from the sink made it easy for two people to get ready at once. The bar was a nice place to spend time before heading out. Bartender was personable and attentive. We also used the shuttle which was easy and brought us right where we needed to go. It was nice chatting with the driver. The location isn’t in town but on a cold night it was great not having to worry about parking. It was a treat to be dropped and picked up in the spot we needed to be. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I would just make sure to avoid the room I had.

We wanted a relaxing few days in Burlington and after checking all the hotels the double tree had really good prices and parking. It just wasn’t right downtown.
The hotel was nice on the inside and looks recently redone. The rooms look updated and were clean.
We didn’t opt for breakfast so I am not sure what the hotel breakfast is like. The skinny pancake has a campus location that’s less than .5 miles away so we used that.
Few rooms have a bath so if you have small children and want a bath you will need to request it. We had no issues reserving the pool during the week but they mentioned on the weekends it’s very difficult to get a time with the pool.
We walked fairly easily from the hotel to church street and back. We’re in pretty good shape and I can see some older/less mobile people not able to easily do that walk.
If you’re in good shape and want a clean hotel for a price cheaper than downtown hotels with parking double tree was great! I’d definitely stay here again. The staff was helpful and friendly, the hotel also felt pretty empty mid week. Not sure what it’s like on the weekends but it was very quiet during our stay.

Thank you so much for this great review. We truly appreciate the wonderful feedback. The walk to Church Street and Lake Champlain is such a great one. Beautiful views, the University of Vermont campus and of course the possible opportunity to see Champ all make the stroll that much better.!!

We stayed at the Doubletree in South Burlington last weekend. After reading the last couple of reviews I had my concerns but I can honestly say it was a pleasant experience. The renovated room was a nice standard and very clean and the front desk staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Given the current COVID restrictions, I believe the hotel did a good job in making our stay as comfortable as possible. Only issue was the noisy room A/C on the 1st night, but after checking with hotel maintenance we managed to leave it on a quieter setting the following night. The location allows easy access to downtown Burlington (approx 10 minutes drive) without the hefty price tag.

How things have changed with the Covid. No more coffee in the lobby, no more cookies, no more towels and soap readily available, nothing but the breakfast buffet which was highly disappointing. The good things, staff that worked two shifts to make sure things got done, staff that picked up the piles of towels and garbage in the hallways, staff that delivered towels, toilet paper and coffee to the rooms day after day. Most, not all of the staff wore masks and half the guests wore masks and none in the pool or exercise areas bothered to ever put them on. The Tavern staff were great and the food was good. Saw the same servers in the morning for breakfast. The main complaint I heard and had to agree with we were all charged the same as if the hotel were at the top of their game. No one thanked us for walking past the piles of towels and trash everyday.

I was in Vermont for a few nights and needed a hotel that had good proximity to Burlington, the airport, and the Interstate. My stay started off on a sour note when I was denied a free shuttle ride "due to COVID." If this is the case, please take the free shuttle amenity off the hotel website. It felt like a bait and switch.
I calmed down a bit after I had a free warm cookie at check-in. I was quite pleased with the common areas and my specific room. Everything was clean and inviting. I got a bit annoyed again when I saw the bar soap provided in the bathroom. It was the size of a small matchbook! I understand supply shortages, but providing such a skimpy soap felt insulting for the price of this hotel. I know, not a huge deal, but somehow every other hotel I have stayed in has figured out how to provide full-size soap.
The property is sort of four linear wings arranged into a square, each appearing to be from different eras. The indoor pool was in the middle and was quite nice to use after a long day outside. Breakfast as an Honors member was good, although I felt it was a bit expensive for what you get. Every staff member I interacted with was professional and made me feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but I would bring my own soap next time.

We spent one night at this hotel when we made an impromptu visit to Vermont for a couple days. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful - we were offered warm cookies and bottled water as we checked in, and thanked for being Hilton rewards members. The beds were super comfy, and the rooms were very nice. The bathrooms could use some updating, specifically the shower, but I liked how the sink was outside the bathroom so it could be used when someone else was using the facility.
Conveniently located near downtown Burlington (they offer a shuttle, though we didn't use it), and only about 35 minutes from Waterbury, it's a great location for seeing everything that area had to offer. Would definitely consider staying at this location again.

Rooms were not clean no amenities available very disappointed. Normally when you were in honors member you were given at least one bottle of water I was never offered one bottle. In the rooms you will be so lucky to be given 1 ounce of shampoo and conditioner and old towels.

Have you ever stayed at a hotel (paying almost $200/night) and realized that it was necessary to wear shower slippers (like at a campsite) because the bathtub had a visible layer of removable filth (and mildew)? This is the place for you! A simple bleach spray would clean it quickly. The lack of attention to the hotel room was readily apparent throughout the room (e.g., visible dead insects in the lamp covers, dust layer around the room). Overall the layout of the hotel is odd (one level has no elevator access -- multiple steps up from street level and a hike from reception). There is a large indoor pool & fitness room (good luck finding where to access), and ample spaces for group meetings. Was glad that we were not there for an extended period and was regretting not staying at Motel 6 (seriously). Won't be back.

It is the little things that make a huge difference- sheets that fit, a pull out mattress that you can’t feel the underwires of, a bathroom door that is not too heavy to close, a microwave that doesn’t smell like something is burnt. This is not the place that values the little things. It could be so much better but needs smarter design and upgrades.

My teenage son and I were visiting UVM with our dog and the location couldn't have been better as the hotel borders the University and is accessible by car, bike or foot. Front desk staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. We were given a convenient ground-floor room at the back door of the hotel. Just steps from that door is Centennial Woods, a 70-acre natural area owned by the University which made it a PERFECT spot to take our pooch for a morning and evening walk. Our room was small but it was spotlessly clean and everything was in working order.

Don’t know, but would assume that it might follow UVM in session and summer traffic schedules.
If it is close by. Most Hilton’s do have some type of transportation service. I would call and ask
