I've stayed here twice. The rooms are simply but adequate for the price. However, as has been pointed out in several reviews , this immigrant couple from Asia ( supposedly Tibetan, but they look Chinese...whatever) are very suspicious and rude, borderline mentally unstable. On my first visit the owner ( very prophetically ) asked me " didn't you have a problem here before with my wife"? I told him I'd never stayed there before, but he shot back a dirty look, with something like " we don't put up with problems here". Such a friendly greeting! I made the mistake of returning a few months later, based upon price. Upon check-in, the previously unseen wife photocopied my driver's license, without asking, which I feel is an invasion of privacy. When I asked why, I was told " It's for the police". I guess this must be a hide-out for escapees or those on the run... not to reassuring. It was a bitter cold winter night, and the heat would only go on after it was turned up about 85 degrees, but I 'd rather roast than freeze, and I didn't feel like having another interaction with the rude owners. In the morning, the woman said she needed to inspect the room before I checked out. She came back to the desk and sarcastically asked, " Did you enjoy blasting the heat up to 100 all night?" I explained that it was broken, and that furthermore I did not appreciate her rudeness. She shot back " Well then don't come back, old man ". Needless to say, I would not spend money here again, even if the rooms were only a dollar!

If you need a clean, inexpensive place to stay in Burlington, this motel will be adequate for you. The walls are somewhat thin and the decor dated, but we did not encounter any major problems staying there. As you can read on the motel's website and in the back of the motel information booklet in your room, the motel's owner arrived from Tibet in 1993 with nothing and worked his way up to owning a motel. I think that work ethic provided some reassurance that our needs would be met while staying there.

Stayed there last Sunday night just before the 4th of July week. Went there because the price was very reasonable, 69$. When I checked in, I was greeted very simply by the owner, an immigrant from Tibet. Seemed Ok at first. He started checking me in, and then the phone rang. Instead of putting the caller on hold, he was indifferent to me waiting and answered all the questions the caller would ask him. Great for the caller , not for me. Finally got checked in. got in the room, it was at least 85 degrees in there. So I put on the AC, waited a couple minutes but we were cooking, so I opened the windows. A few minutes later the AC went out! So, on the wall next to the AC control there is a sign that says that if you open the windows while the AC is on it will reset and then you have to call the manager to reset the unit!
So I call the manager about the AC, he gives me a lecture that I should have obeyed the sign. I tell him that I read the sign after the AC went out, so I didn't no! I explain to him that the room shouldn't have been that hot when I arrived and that it was his fault that all of this arrived. I tell him that what I did was perfectly normal, it's just like when you get in a burning car in the summer, you open the AC and also the windows for a few minutes until the hot air evacuates and then you close them back up. He was still rude and threatened not to reset the AC again if I open the windows again while the AC is on! So we endured the steaming room for at least an hour before it started getting cool.
The room was old but very clean, but no hair dryer and no facial tissue! So bring your own.
If it had not been for the rudeness of the owner , this would have been a nice find, but not so!
I won't be back.

My wife and I, along with another couple, booked two rooms at the G.G.T. Tibet five months ago. The location was convenient for the bicycle tour operators to pick up all our luggage the next morning for the start of the tour. The owner cancelled our reservation while we were midflight to Burlington. He claimed there was a problem with our credit card. I got this message and called during our layover. We felt quite panicked, because we knew it would be hard to find another room last minute during this busy time of year. We attempted to explain to the person who answered the phone that we really needed and wanted the room, and could we please give him our credit card number again. The person was abrupt, belligerent, and immediately accused us of trying to rip him off. He said our only option was to go online and rebook the room (at more than twice the price). Our friends called to request changing their room from a king to two double beds. The owner told them that they did not have any other rooms available and they could not change. I went online to book another room, because we had few options, and the only room they had was one with two double beds. He was clearly lying to our friends. When we arrived, my friend and I were outside organizing all of our stuff while our wives were attempting to check in. Picture this a retired school teacher and a cute little blind woman standing there with her cane. We are all 53 to 63 y.o. parents, grandparents, tandem bicycle riders, not your typical party hooligans. He informed us that he had once again canceled our reservation even though the card was valid. When asked why, he flew in to a raging monolog which consisted of swearing and false accusations of us being bad people who take advantage of other people and he said he was afraid we would damage his property. He screamed at us to get off his property and even as we were leaving, ran out after us very aggressively, still yelling. We were completely slack jawed and it took a several days to wrap our heads around what happened. Our bikes were still packed in pieces in cases so we had to walk several blocks to stay at the only other room we could find, dragging along a ton of luggage and my wife following along with her cane. This is a week later and my stomach is still in knots typing this.

Made a reservation at this inn and was told online I had up to 3 days ahead to cancel. I kept one room, but didn't need the other, so cancelled one of the rooms 2 weeks ahead of time., but kept the other. The inn cancelled both rooms, and when i called to correct the problem, he said my card was declined (it wasn't) and that if I wanted to rebook, I would have to go through Booking.com again. When i asked if he could just re-book it himself, he had me jumping through all sorts of hoops ("call me back in two hours, I'm not at the office", and then wanted to charge me twice the amount! ). Booking.com suggested I call my bank, and when i did, they said that the inn cancelled the processing of the payments- they were not declined, as I was told. I wished I read all the other reviews before I wasted my time and energy with this, apparently this last minute "card was declined" baloney is usual for this place.but hopefully this review will help others to avoid the hassle and save their wallets as well as some frustration:))

GGT Tibet Inn sounds interesting and exotic but it is neither. We paid over $300 per night on booking.com because we came with electric bikes and wanted the first floor room so that we could charge the bikes. When we checked in, we were appalled by the run-down look of the building. It really should be called a motel, not an inn. The owner then informed us that it is his policy not to allow bikes in the room. We stayed in other motels and never seen such policy. Owner suggested several places outside where we could charge the bikes, but only one worked, next to the closed and disgusting looking pool with brown water. The room was OK, but there was no heat turned on or AC. We were lucky that the weather was just right and the temp inside was OK. There was no coffee machine in the room or breakfast. Wifi was available, but did not work in our room. It was not the worst hotel in the world, but probably the worst in the Burlington area.

I arrived 25 minutes early, the door to the office was locked and no waiting area. So I rang the bell; I had to wait outside in the blasting heat/sun until someone came. I asked if I could check in because it's already 3:05 pm and I needed to use the bathroom, the man said something a bit loud (almost angry) because I didn't completely understand what he said; I asked him kindly with "I am sorry" to repeat what he said, he told me angrily to just read the printed paper on the window, that the check-in would be at 3:30 pm. He said, "you don't have to understand me; you just have to use your brain and read." So, I waited in the car until 3:30 pm. When I went to my room, the key didn't work, I followed the instructions in the back of the card. After about 10 times trying and the key still didn't work, I went downstairs to let the same person about the key, again very kindly, angrily said, "Why can't you read the instructions. You did the wrong thing, and that's why it didn't work." I told him there was no reason for him to be so negative; I would appreciate it if he could just show me how to use the card so I could enter my room. This is the most unsafe accommodation I have ever put myself in. Perhaps because I am a female and traveling alone. During my conversations with this staff, I was so afraid that he would punch me or be physical due to his high tone and angry eyes. I am sorry to say this, but I thought staying in a place with Tibet as a part of its name would be a safe, peaceful, and compassionate place. The staff is absolutely the opposite of peaceful, patient, and compassionate. He is miserable and angry and has some issues. As a professor, I would suggest that the management provides the appropriate customer service training. The training should include an awareness/understanding workshop that highlight "it is normal for people to ask questions and for help" and "it cost no money to be kind."

I wish I had read the reviews from past guests. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone else.

My sister and I arrived half an hour early to the inn. The office door was locked so we called the number. The man was SO RUDE saying don’t you see the sign on the door, and told us to wait outside in the cold or in our car for the 30 minutes. 20 minutes later he then walks up to our car and asks us if we are ready to check in, pretty unsettling. He gave us this long speech when we asked about cancelling a night for us about how the hotel booking websites rip people off, but I’m pretty sure he’s the one ripping people off. Then when we went to sign the do not smoke paper he started with another long speech about how he knows young people like to smoke and do drugs and all this stuff! I told him we don’t smoke and he said yeah well I’m not talking about cigarettes, unbelievable! We took our keys and stayed as far from him as possible. Would NEVER stay again. Miserable man with a goal to just spread his misery.

I would love to give a lengthy description of our stay... But the hotel would not allow us to enter our room. I was traveling with a bike and they demanded that I leave it outside. They did not offer a secure storage option and would not allow it in the room, despite it being clean. Read the other reviews before booking here!

Rooms were very clean. Bed was super comfortable. Shower was hot. Owner is on site and interesting to talk to. Perfect for a skiing trip weekend or whatnot. The lake is not very visible from room, but it is a short drive away. Some road noise at night, but didn't bother either of us.

The motel is about 5 miles. Maybe 10 min depending on traffic. No shuttle. Would need to use taxi. Or I believe there is a bud that came by heading into town. Not sure if bus change needed or if a bit of walk. Suggest call hospital or hotel for more detailed transportation information.
