The view if the lake was something and the sunsets were spectacular. We did have a couple of very minor issues but the front desk staff was incredibly quick and courteous in rectifying them. I suggest you should join Hilton Honors and get the phone app. It was great. If you choose you can check in, check out, communicate with the front desk and use your phone app as your digital room key and more. It was awesome.
There are a few differences with the COVID restrictions the hotel must follow but I assume that’s similar at all local hotels. No coffee machine in the room was the most noticeable difference and if the was our biggest inconvenience then that’s pretty darn good.
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. A beautiful lake view, less than a 1/4 mile walk to the water and the lovely waterfront park. And less than a half mile walk to the Church Street Marketplace. I couldn’t imagine a better location for getaway.
We traveled from a “safe” state and we were happy and appreciative of the overall attitude that almost everyone we came in contact with was following recommended safe guidelines. The town was vibrant and fun. Not too crazy overcrowded. In spite of the number of people almost everyone was courteous and respectful of others and wore face coverings if they were unable to maintain a safe social distance. Almost all the restaurants and shops were open. Restaurants had outdoor dining and some also had indoor dining with limited capacity. Most require reservations but even that was convenient.
I read a couple of very negative reviews on this site for this hotel and I just don’t get it. Then again there are always some who will always complain but they too are “entidled” to their opinions. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Burlington area and I definitely will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.
The hotel’s decor is stylish and our room was quite comfortable and included USB ports in addition to outlets. Our request of a room near the elevator was perfectly honored. The hotel has water stations on each floor for both cold and hot water, though the tea was emptied on our first night and had not been replenished a day later. The public areas were nice and there was a bar, though we neither ate nor drank there. Even if your room didn’t have a view, the public areas afforded lovely views of the lake. The gym was small (1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, some free weights) and open 24/7. Staff was universally friendly and checked in by text to offer support.
In addition to the proximity to the lake, the hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants, including the pedestrian walking area on Church Street. I couldn’t imagine a better location.
The only reason I'm giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had to wait almost an hour and a half after we arrived to check into our room after we arrived. I understand cleaning the room probably takes longer given the circumstances we are faced with but close to 80 mins after the scheduled check in time is still a bit much. In the defense they did also let us check out 40 mins late upon request however.
Great location and good facilities overall.
I'm thankful we booked a lakefront room so we could enjoy the great view.
We booked a room with King bed and the room was a little smaller size then what we normally like but it worked out okay.
The bathroom was really tiny so if you like a big bathroom this is not the place for you.
The room had a mini fridge but no microwave, fortunately the front desk staff was very helpful and heated up our leftovers for us which we really appreciated.
They have room service avaliable but the menu did not have any dessert items so I ended up ordering dessert from UberEats instead.
We loved having the coffee/water station available on each floor.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay, my only complaint would be the $15/day charge for parking but this hotel is located right in the city so that is to be expected.
We booked a couple of nights here using points and an American express voucher, which entitle you to a standard room. As a diamond member, I was hoping for an upgrade to a room with a view of the lake. Checkin was efficient, but one of the coolest receptions I've ever had at a Hilton. No smiles, no welcomes, etc... I asked about an upgrade and was told there was no availability. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes. The hotel did not seem that busy however, it's November and so I did check the Hilton app once I got to my room and saw that lake view rooms were in fact available. I wasn't up for an argument, but let's just say I'm very very disappointed in Hilton. It was hard for me to believe that a hotel of this size did not have any of their lake view rooms available.
Parking is $16 a night, and there are a number of little niggling fees that are added to the bill. Breakfast used to be a great thing at Hilton hotels, and this hotel tried, but I fault Hilton for replacing the free breakfast with a $12 credit. I challenge you to try and get coffee, juice and something to eat for 12 bucks in any hotel. Hilton believes that this model gives you more flexibility, but make it a choice, a nice breakfast for those who want it, or the cash for those who want the flexibility.
The room itself was clean, but smaller than I expected. It looked recently redone, but very dark wall coverings combined with low voltage lighting makes for a dark and depressing space. We were told we had a city view, see photo.
The bathroom had a sewer like smell coming from the drain in the floor and the sink. Adding water helped, but the odor would return. I see other reviews complaining of the same issue.
On the positive side, the room did have a safe (but the battery was dead), and a refrigerator, but so small that it won't hold a standard water bottle unless you put it on an angle. Rooms are spartan, no coffee maker, but it did have a TV that worked.
While not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, for the money you could do so much better. This stay is making me question my loyalty to the Hilton brand, especially if I was lied to at checkin. I do not recommend this hotel.
1. There was only 1 person working at the front desk during the busy Memorial Day weekend when we were there. This meant that there were lines to check in, check out, or just ask a question of staff.
2. I was surprised to find that I was charged additional fees for using a credit card to pay for the room. When questioned, they said this was part of "taxes and fees". I have never before been charged extra to use a credit card to pay for a hotel room (do people really pay cash for hotels?). This left a bad impression of the hotel for us, and they were unwilling to remove the charge from our bill.
We will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we visit Burlington.
