Hotel Champlain Burlington, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, garners praise for its spotless rooms and well-kept common areas. Its location is a highlight, situated conveniently for guests eager to explore nearby attractions and dining options. While the hotel's atmosphere is often described as somewhat lackluster, with a need for modernization, some guests have also experienced issues with service efficiency and management. The rooms receive mixed reviews, with cleanliness and views being appreciated, yet some guests report discomfort due to size and maintenance problems. Despite enjoying the local brewery and recreational facilities, visitors frequently feel that the hotel's value doesn't match the high pricing, especially considering the additional costs and ongoing renovations.

My wife and I stayed for a long weekend getaway in the midst of the COVID times. The Hilton Lake Champlain was an all around wonderful experience. The hotel seems to be recently reopening. It was and is going through some renovations. We stayed in a King Lake View room and it was newly renovated. It was Gorgeous! The room was extremely clean, and although we brought our own supplies to wipe things down a bit it smelled as if it had been thoroughly disinfected giving us a safe feeling. Our extra effort probably wasn’t necessary but we did it anyway in a couple minutes.
The view if the lake was something and the sunsets were spectacular. We did have a couple of very minor issues but the front desk staff was incredibly quick and courteous in rectifying them. I suggest you should join Hilton Honors and get the phone app. It was great. If you choose you can check in, check out, communicate with the front desk and use your phone app as your digital room key and more. It was awesome.
There are a few differences with the COVID restrictions the hotel must follow but I assume that’s similar at all local hotels. No coffee machine in the room was the most noticeable difference and if the was our biggest inconvenience then that’s pretty darn good.
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. A beautiful lake view, less than a 1/4 mile walk to the water and the lovely waterfront park. And less than a half mile walk to the Church Street Marketplace. I couldn’t imagine a better location for getaway.
We traveled from a “safe” state and we were happy and appreciative of the overall attitude that almost everyone we came in contact with was following recommended safe guidelines. The town was vibrant and fun. Not too crazy overcrowded. In spite of the number of people almost everyone was courteous and respectful of others and wore face coverings if they were unable to maintain a safe social distance. Almost all the restaurants and shops were open. Restaurants had outdoor dining and some also had indoor dining with limited capacity. Most require reservations but even that was convenient.
I read a couple of very negative reviews on this site for this hotel and I just don’t get it. Then again there are always some who will always complain but they too are “entidled” to their opinions. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Burlington area and I definitely will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

SteveaW3265FF, I am delighted to learn that you had an amazing experience here at Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain and enjoy the view from our brand new guestrooms. We have featured new coffee pantries from Vermont Artisan Coffee company on every floor, and filtered water which have been very popular. I agree that the digital key is a great option for selecting your room before arrival, and bypassing the front desk to go straight to your room and amazing view. Our guests love the convenience of texting our staff for anything that they need at any time. Burlington has such great options locally for breakfast, outdoor dining and local beer, and I am so happy you had a chance to enjoy all that Burlington has to offer. On behalf of our team that love to make experiences amazing for our guests, I look forward to welcoming you back!

For our first trip in 18 months, we visited 4 New England hotels, two Hilton properties and two Marriott. The Burlington Hilton has terrific views of Lake Champlain (if you are paying for a room with a view). We paid with Hilton Honors points plus $. It’s also as close to the lake as possible for a hotel, which allowed us to walk lakeside and also enjoy the small park. Self-parking is convenient in the lot adjoining the hotel, which connects right into the hotel mezzanine to access the elevator. The cost is $16 a night and, though we were there over a Sunday, when parking is free in the lot, we were still charged.

The hotel’s decor is stylish and our room was quite comfortable and included USB ports in addition to outlets. Our request of a room near the elevator was perfectly honored. The hotel has water stations on each floor for both cold and hot water, though the tea was emptied on our first night and had not been replenished a day later. The public areas were nice and there was a bar, though we neither ate nor drank there. Even if your room didn’t have a view, the public areas afforded lovely views of the lake. The gym was small (1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, some free weights) and open 24/7. Staff was universally friendly and checked in by text to offer support.

In addition to the proximity to the lake, the hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants, including the pedestrian walking area on Church Street. I couldn’t imagine a better location.

Let me start of by saying that the reason I booked this hotel - the view - is absolutely fantastic. Full length windows along the far end of the room give you an unobstructed view of lake champlain and the mountains beyond. I had the room with 2 queens and it was a decent size with a large bathroom which was a plus. The room had a mini fridge and enough storage space - a full size dresser and another assortment of drawers in the TV stand. They also have a modern coffee machine serving vermont artisanal coffee along with still/sparkling water taps on every floor. Luckily the one on our floor was basically right outside our room. Like a few other recent reviews have mentioned there is some construction going on in the hotel but none of it bothered us at all, could be because it was away from our room or because they are close to being done. Didn't take away from our experience.

The only reason I'm giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had to wait almost an hour and a half after we arrived to check into our room after we arrived. I understand cleaning the room probably takes longer given the circumstances we are faced with but close to 80 mins after the scheduled check in time is still a bit much. In the defense they did also let us check out 40 mins late upon request however.

Great location and good facilities overall.

Hello There! We are pleased that we were recently recognized by AAA as one of the cleanest hotels for 2020. You mention that the pandemic had an impact on your arrival and I understand that is frustrating after a long day of travel. As you mention, our Hilton CleanStay protocol and the CDC encourages that we leave the room unoccupied for a period of time before entering to provide enhanced Lysol disinfection for the next guest. Our guests love the convenience you experienced of texting our staff for anything that they need at any time, or for any updates on the room to be ready and perfect. I look forward to welcoming you back to our new public space, Vermont Artisan Coffee pantries, new guestrooms and experience the same level of caring service from our Team! -Pete

My wife and I wanted to spend a day in Burlington to experience Church St and Lake Champlain on our way back from Lake Placid. Location was perfect! The coffe bar on the floor made it that more special and safe feeling. The room was spotless and staff were wearing masks and made us feel safe. Will return again for just a weekend away in Burlington! Bed was incredible, my wife wanted to move in.

We made a last minute switch to the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain after finding the other hotel that we booked to be less than desirable. We called ahead to make sure they had a room, and Bayley said to head right over! We drove over to the hotel, and he was able to quickly secure us a reasonably priced room with a beautiful view of the lake! We walked in to the most beautiful sunset! Bayley helped us navigate the garage parking to make sure were were parked on the floor that connected to the hotel and provided a list of nearby restaurants that we used to order dinner - perfect! The hotel was clean and felt very safe considering covid precautions. There is construction ongoing in the hotel, but it does not begin until 9am. The room we had was modern and sleek! Our lovely stay at this Hilton caused us to book two more Hiltons during our road trip. We would certainly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is at a great location overlooking the lake.
I'm thankful we booked a lakefront room so we could enjoy the great view.
We booked a room with King bed and the room was a little smaller size then what we normally like but it worked out okay.
The bathroom was really tiny so if you like a big bathroom this is not the place for you.
The room had a mini fridge but no microwave, fortunately the front desk staff was very helpful and heated up our leftovers for us which we really appreciated.
They have room service avaliable but the menu did not have any dessert items so I ended up ordering dessert from UberEats instead.
We loved having the coffee/water station available on each floor.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay, my only complaint would be the $15/day charge for parking but this hotel is located right in the city so that is to be expected.

Avoid. Burlington VT was a great pick for the weekend, and we had a wonderful time, but this Hilton did nothing to accentuate the experience. It is located in a good part of town, but that is about the only redeeming quality.

We booked a couple of nights here using points and an American express voucher, which entitle you to a standard room. As a diamond member, I was hoping for an upgrade to a room with a view of the lake. Checkin was efficient, but one of the coolest receptions I've ever had at a Hilton. No smiles, no welcomes, etc... I asked about an upgrade and was told there was no availability. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes. The hotel did not seem that busy however, it's November and so I did check the Hilton app once I got to my room and saw that lake view rooms were in fact available. I wasn't up for an argument, but let's just say I'm very very disappointed in Hilton. It was hard for me to believe that a hotel of this size did not have any of their lake view rooms available.

Parking is $16 a night, and there are a number of little niggling fees that are added to the bill. Breakfast used to be a great thing at Hilton hotels, and this hotel tried, but I fault Hilton for replacing the free breakfast with a $12 credit. I challenge you to try and get coffee, juice and something to eat for 12 bucks in any hotel. Hilton believes that this model gives you more flexibility, but make it a choice, a nice breakfast for those who want it, or the cash for those who want the flexibility.

The room itself was clean, but smaller than I expected. It looked recently redone, but very dark wall coverings combined with low voltage lighting makes for a dark and depressing space. We were told we had a city view, see photo.

The bathroom had a sewer like smell coming from the drain in the floor and the sink. Adding water helped, but the odor would return. I see other reviews complaining of the same issue.

On the positive side, the room did have a safe (but the battery was dead), and a refrigerator, but so small that it won't hold a standard water bottle unless you put it on an angle. Rooms are spartan, no coffee maker, but it did have a TV that worked.

While not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, for the money you could do so much better. This stay is making me question my loyalty to the Hilton brand, especially if I was lied to at checkin. I do not recommend this hotel.

The Hilton Burlington is well located - walking distance to the Church Street mall and just across the street from the Lakefront. We paid extra for a Lake view, and it was worth for the spectacular view. The room was nice enough and seemed clean. However, I have 2 complaints about this hotel.
1. There was only 1 person working at the front desk during the busy Memorial Day weekend when we were there. This meant that there were lines to check in, check out, or just ask a question of staff.
2. I was surprised to find that I was charged additional fees for using a credit card to pay for the room. When questioned, they said this was part of "taxes and fees". I have never before been charged extra to use a credit card to pay for a hotel room (do people really pay cash for hotels?). This left a bad impression of the hotel for us, and they were unwilling to remove the charge from our bill.

My husband and I were first time visitors to Vermont and our experience at this hotel couldn't have been any better. The gentleman at the front desk was pleasant and extremely helpful and the parking was a breeze. We had a handicap accessible room on the seventh floor and the views of the lake were amazing. I would definitely suggest a lake view room since it looked like the rooms on the opposite side of the hotel overlooked rooftops and parking. The room was large and nicely appointed with a roll-in shower. Loved the coffee bar and water dispensers as well as the refrigerator with individual bags of ice located on each floor. The menu at the grab and go breakfast in the lobby has a very limited menu, but I found it to be perfect and delicious. Also, the location was great!
We will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we visit Burlington.

Our trip to Burlington vt was extra special, we stayed at the hilton Burlington hotel, what a beautiful place, the staff there treated us like royalty. Katherine at the front desk was extremely helpful with a minor concern. She took care of us and made us comfortable, there also was a gentleman with housekeeping that was vacuuming the mezzanine area upon our arrival, he stopped to help us get to the lobby area. Its little things like this that makes our day. The layout of the property made it simple to get out and enjoy the scenery, nice walks, nice pool, we were only there 2 days but it was worth it. Can’t wait to return.
