This hotel is a bit off the beaten path. There's nothing to speak of within walking distance, but just a couple miles away there is a strip full of stores and restaurants. Rooms include furnished kitchens and are well-maintained. The Hilton Digital Key works very well, letting you into your room, the pool area, and the fitness room using your smart phone. The front desk staff was extraordinarily helpful, even providing free detergent and dryer sheets for the guest laundry (which is a bargain at 50 cents each to wash and dry). The free breakfast is fairly basic, as is expected in hotels like this, but they do a nice job of varying the selections from day to day. While it doesn't stand out enough for 5 stars, it's a very good hotel and I would stay again.

Beautiful and CLEAN extended stay hotel in a very quiet area surrounded by a golf course and an upscale corporate park. Rooms fully equipped to cook and relax with the right amount of space to be comfortable. Laundry on-site, $0.50 a load was more than a fair price to help keep packing light for longer stay. Makayla and D were kind and professional during the booking process and stay.
Stayed in room 404, view of snow topped mountains was beautiful!!!
Highly suggest choosing this hotel if looking for a lot of amenities for a good price. Pool and spa are also indoor for use year round, grills available as well!

Excellent stay. Hotel was very clean. Manager is super nice. Swimming pool was clean so was hot tub. Rooms where cleaned very well. I like how you can schedule your room to be cleaned that way they don’t just go into your room. Have hand sanitizer located all around hotel.

This was a pretty standard stay for the chain. This was the second time on the trip (and also ever for me) that the room was just propped open when I got to it, which is very unnerving and wrong for a whole list of reasons. I hope this doesn't become a trend. The digital key didn't work, either, but I'm used to that (it's poor programming of the locks, I think, and it happens occasionally with Hilton). The room was clearly cleaned by someone that doesn't have a lot of experience cleaning hotel rooms, but they did a decent job. Some of the edges need a good cleaning, but the important things were fine.

Here are my normal details about the stay:
Comparison to others in chain: Typical
Internet: Average - useable, but typical Hilton slow
Breakfast: Didn't try
Room: Standard for Home2 Suites
Cleanliness: Good, except around the edges (vent, shower door, things like that needed a good cleaning)
Bed: Average
Bedding: Average
Shower: Great, except I could only get it at one temperature
Hard water: No
HVAC: It wouldn't turn on or off when it should.
Location: Business park, away from anything
Noise: Average
Staff: Average
Cost/Value: Not bad - was a decent choice for a flight the next morning

The hotel itself is great. It's very new and clean. However, the customer service offered by the staff was the worse I've ever encountered at a hotel. I had booked my reservation in advance and was gauranteed the room for 5 nights for $405. When I checked in late at night I looked at the paper and it said I was being charged $882. I notified the front desk clerk who called her supervisor. She said they'd fix it in the morning and I checked in. At 7 or 8 am the assistant manager (LuAnn Aalders) called and was hostile and rude. She told me they will not honor that price I was promised the room for. I told her I'd been up for over 24 hours the previous day and I was tired. I didn't want to be woken up like she woke me up. I told her I'd come down and discuss it later. I went back to bed. She called me again around 2 or 3 pm and demanded that I come speak with her and sign something. She said she was leaving soon and it had to be taken care of before she left. I went down and talked to her and she said she had looked into it and Hilton didn't have record of the rate I booked the room for. This is despite me showing her the email and confirmation sent to me directly from Hilton. She refused to honor the reservation at the rate I was promised. During the majority of the conversation she was rude, condescending and extremely impolite. And she's the assistant manager. I've never felt so mistreated by anyone in the hospitality industry. I will never stay at that particular hotel again (I travel a lot) and I will recommend to anyone who will listen that they find anywhere else to stay, except that particular hotel.

Response from Megan P, Other at Home2 Suites By Hilton Salt Lake City / West Valley City, Ut

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns about your stay. First, in a review of your booking, we compared your documentation with Hilton reservation records. Regrettably, it was not a match, and we concluded that our reservation records were accurate from the time of booking and through arrival. Our customer service channels also supported this. Furthermore, it is disappointing to learn that you were dissatisfied with staff interactions. The experience you’ve described runs counter to the level of hospitality we offer. Our team members create a welcoming environment for all. Nevertheless, we accept that, at times, guests may not perceive what we say as we intend it, and that what you felt is more important than what the Assistant Manager intended. Accordingly, we apologize for any ill will you may have felt with our staff. (This issue has been handled directly between guest and Choice Hotels corporate via email.)

The linen smell like sweat. Asked for management to contact me from young lad6 on night shift because she gave me a hard time because I wanted to wash my own sheets and never heard from them. Asked for room to be clean and they did not sweep or mop the bathroom floor or vacuum. The carpets smelled of urine and smelled of dirty feet. The staff did nothing to stop the young kinds running and slamming doors or screaming in the rooms by the young kinds even after 2 am. The fitness room was dirty and the pool area remakes of chlorine so bad. This is not worth a HILTON name

This hotel is in an area that isn’t very busy but close enough to restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. I love this hotel. The rooms have kitchen accommodations too. That makes it nice if you want to fix your own food.

We wanted to like this hotel. We were looking for a hotel with good reviews, away from the hustle, and a walking path nearby to take our dog for a walk. This should not be a budget hotel for the price we paid. However, we discovered after checking in that the hotel management has provided a home for feral cats on this property. The outdoor patio and fire pit area has been taken over by these cats. They have crates for the cats and are feeding them in the patio area. You can see plates on the ground in the photos. They do have a designated pet area but our dog couldn’t use it because one of the cats was very aggressive and wouldn’t allow us to pass by to access the area which could potentially be contaminated if these cats are carrying any disease or if they were to attack a guest’s pet. Someone needs to be responsible for what could be a hazard. We paid $50 for our dog to stay with very poor facilities. The hotel appeared nice inside, our room was clean. We didn’t have any dishes on the shelves but we discovered much later that they were all in the dishwasher. The breakfast was bad. They had ham and swiss cheese sandwiches that were hard as a rock. We were very disappointed with our stay and it was a bad ending to our nice road trip.

I give 4 dots instead of 3 dots because it was dirt cheap due to low business travel during covid. Had to wait about 10 mins to check-in as nobody was at the desk. We got the one bedroom suite which was huge and nicely appointed. No masking at all by the staff despite Hilton policies, and very little by the guests. The normal hot breakfast was cancelled due to covid, despite nobody on the property masking or caring about covid, and replaced with a completely awful to go bag.
