Stayed one night here as a stopover. The hotel is conveniently located near a bunch of restaurants and stores. Parking gets sparse in the evenings so it can be difficult to find a spot. My room was nice and smelled cleaned initially. Then it smelled like a wet dog. I wasn't sure if it was from the a/c or because there was actually pets prior to my stay.
The shower had shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers and there was a lotion dispenser near the sink.
The carpet...yuck. I know better than to walk on the floor without shoes because hotels rarely, if ever, steam clean their carpets, but this room had visible stains on the dark blue carpet.

We booked here because the property we were staying out couldn't extend an extra night because they were sold out. Hampton Inn Layton, let us check in early and had a great stay. Breakfast was great, and the room wasn't too bad. Charges wouldn't stay in the outlet that was between the queen beds. Some ware and tear in the room, and the pool was under maintenance. I really liked that you can use tap and pay in the laundry room.

If you are looking for a good place to stay that is affordable and with a staff that are dedicated to make your experience phenomenal, look no further. This hotel was exceptionally clean, provided an amazing breakfast, and went above the minimum required to ensure our needs were met. You will not be disappointed!

One of the WORST hotels I’ve ever stayed at. My daughter had a 50lb bag with all the items we need in addition to our luggage and when we get here they tell us the elevator is broken for at least 3 weeks. We were originally supposed to be on the 3rd floor. The pool is closed. The room they moved us to smells like a wet mop. The charging plugs don’t work. There was a “sticky” residue on the table and the handles in the room. The refrigerator, besides not getting cold, had good still left in it. I will NEVER stay in this sh@# hole again. When I talked to the front desk they said the best she could do is comp us $14 a night. We are stuck here as every hotel is sold out in the area.

We had a pretty unsafe experience and neither hotel management or Hilton cared enough about it to make the area safe or rectify it. We reached out to both. This tells you a lot about how the take care of the property and care about the safety of their guests.

The parking lot of the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City/Layton’s parking lot is extremely unsafe.

The parking lot has never been snow plowed even though it hasn’t snowed for several days. It is not just a giant pad of ice covering the road. I was trying to get 4 young kids inside on 1/18 and they were all slipping. My 14 year old slipped and fell in a big ice puddle and was soaking wet. I imagine you could have some big injuries happen if the road isn’t cleared.

It hasn’t snowed for several days and the other parking lots at adjacent buildings are all plowed.

I generally don't stay at Hilton properties anymore even though I am a diamond rewards member, mainly because of their steep pets fees which sometimes exceed the lodging price. However, I decided to stay here because they didn't have pet fees, so I was looking forward to my first Hampton stay in a while.

I walked into this hotel with my dog after a long drive all the way from Portland OR. It was just after midnight and we were exhausted. My first impression was that the lobby was not very professional looking like most Hamptons are, and reminded me more of being in a dollar store with all the stuff cluttered on the counter, the bright fluorescent lights, etc. The worker was dressed in a sweatshirt that looks like she was going to a slumber party. I was not recognized as a diamond member or offered a snack or a water. When I arrived at my room, we quickly found out then it was occupied. Going back to the front desk, they soon found out that there were no more rooms in the hotel. I had made a reservation 6 hours previous, but I guess this was useless.

The clerk started calling around to the other hotels in the area to find me a room, and after about 20 minutes, I had a room at the Hilton Garden Inn about a quarter mile away. The woman at the desk at the HGI was not especially friendly, but we did get a room for the night, although the room was hot and stuffy and the HVAC control was difficult to figure out. At various times during my stay, I saw housekeepers, a woman mopping the floor, and the man at the front desk in the morning. None of them smiled, greeted me or even acknowledged my existence. I don't know if this is how people in Salt Lake generally behave, but I would never return to this hotel, to a place that I didn't feel welcomed and that was so unprofessional. Even when I dropped my room key at the front desk and said thank you, the clerk behind the desk didn't even look up.

Beds are comfortable. Room was pretty clean. Very nice breakfast. Our toilet wouldn't flush when we first got there with 5 people and staff brought us a plunger! Grandpa was able to do some adjusting inside the tank and made it a bit better. The bar sink would not drain. Only one person tried to use it to brush their teeth.

We have been traveling from CA to Yellowstone and Stopping in UT
Booked this on Groupon after staying at the Salt Lake City Hampton ( which is great)
Started off looking good the staff had on masks, there was coffee available for me after traveling for hours, the receptionist seemed tired not the friendliest the manager was there is seemed nice asked if my coffee was good
Checked into room...
Everything looked clean and they had the COVID-19 Lysol cleaning signs so I assumed everything was clean.
The TV counter had crumbs on it, it was never even wiped
The restroom had no hand soap or shampoo or anything other than one old conditioner bottle.
I have a habit of looking under the sheets at any hotels I stay in...flipped the sheets there was a large stain on one of the beds ( i have no idea what it was)
I called the front desk the staff answered and asked me if I wanted new sheets....I sighed and said yes (I was just off the road from 6 hours drive with three kids) The the phone rang it was the receptionist she said if I wanted to move rooms instead I gladly said yes
Five min later manager came up with receptionist I was moved next door I was soooo exhausted .
The beds were clean I flipped the sheets and no stains
The TV remote did not work
There was only hand soap and one tiny body soap ( for family of 5) I showered the shower head cap fell off..
When i got out the kids were asleep in one bed I climbed into the other and immediately SUNK IN I felt like I was on a deflated mattress, super annoyed I swapped with the kids their bed was WORST
It already past midnight I did not have the energy to move and wake up kids so I sucked it up and stayed and did not bother calling Manager again
I don't know if they gave me crappier room because I complained about the stain on the bed or if they were just upset that I complained at all.
After such a long day I did not want to risk being moved to an even more uncomfortable room .
I don't know if the request for new mattresses has been received by cooperate or manager but no one should pay to sleep in a bed in this bad of shape.
Soooo disappointed. I was expecting the same hospitality as the Hampton Inn Salt lake city/Sandy

1) woman at front desk required a $5 gratuity fee per keycard!
2) employees were not wearing masks even though signage stated they should
3) permanent sign on water control handle in tub/shower states, “Hot and Cold are Reversed”

The staff at this hotel do whatever they want to pad their pockets, avoid fixing issues and spread their germs. I’ve NEVER seen a Hilton property with staff anywhere close to this level of disrespect for their guests. Very disappointing.

Hi! I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time out of your day to evaluate our performance during your stay. Surveys are important to the company, so if there are any areas for improvement they can be properly handled. We apologize we fell below on some of your standards. there seems to be a misunderstanding. We do have a $5.36 gratuity but it is not for extra key cards nor do we charge our guest for key cards or does the gratuity correlate with key cards at all. The gratuity is a optional charge on your reservation that goes to departments like Housekeeping, Breakfast bar, Dinner and many more. Again this is 100% optional and we can take off your reservation without an issue at all. I took a look at your reservation and there is not gratuity on there which is typical for our digital key guest because most do not come to the front desk which means we can not inform them of this thus not being able to give them an option of opting in or not. In the state of Utah and under Hilton It is recommended not required that guest and employees who are not vaccinated wear mask but if they are fully vaccinated they do not have to. We do not charge for extra key cards at all so I am not sure if the front desk agent explained the gratuity wrong or if there was a misunderstanding but if you look at your bill the total amount $160.21 does not include any other fees. We are having the chief of maintenance from cooperate look into this issue and I agree the small sign is a bit tacky but we figured until we can get the issue fixed it would be in the best interest of the guest who will be staying in that room to be informed rather than burn themselves or step into a ice cold shower. Again I want to thank you for your feedback and if Hilton Honors points, a be my guest certificate, or anything else I can do that will serve as a apology for the misunderstanding please feel free to let me know. I hope that if your travels bring you back to the area we can get another chance at making your next stay a great one!
