Checked in on Dec 04/2023 for 1 night.
Front desk staff member and sakes director Stacey Startzel was fantastic, professional, friendly and definitely customer service orientated.
On our 14 day road trip we were most impressed by this checkin experience.
Room was clean as was the facility. Room was WELL stocked for an extended stay, including a full size fridge, dishwasher and microwave, they also include a mini 4 burner stove n oven.
Will be staying here again as a result of the customer service

Outisde it looks a little worse for wear. The lobby was very clean but looked very basic. Parking was a little tight but loaction is very close to many places to eat. Staff wrote a nice note to me when given my keys as well as another note welcoming me in my room. Room was clean except for a large questionable stain on the couch so I stayed away from it. Bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. Bathroom basic and clean. All the doors slam closed and you hear every single one no matter the time. My room was right below the large outside lights so everytime the heater kicked in the blinds blew open and the room light up. Ask for the main building as its quieter but just stay away from the lights.

BoiseID999-----I am sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with us while you were here. I apologize for the shape your couch was in but in order to be able to fix it I really need to know the room #. We do have parking spots for each room and a few extras but sorry to hear that you had a hard time parking. Again, unable to fix doors without knowing a room #. I do understand the walls seem to be very thin which is out of our control as well as the lobby is. I will relay to my maintenance department to see what we can do to fix the curtains blowing open when heater or AC unit turns on. I would hope that you will give us another chance to improve our service to you. When you make a reservation you might want to indicate main building as your preference. Again, I apologize for you not having a pleasant stay. We are due for a renovation at the end of this year or early next year so hopefully that will remedy some of the issues.

My family of 4 had the pleasure of staying at the TownPlace Suites Salt Lake City Layton from June 19th to 24th.

I would like say that we had a disappointing stay, but I would be completely dishonest. For being Bonvoy Gold Elite members, we have stayed in many hotel properties and the Townplace Suites Salt Lake City stand out.

Check-in was extremely convenient. Caleb (front desk) had recognized that we are Gold Elite Members complimented us for our loyalty. Caleb very super friendly provided us with a map of the area and answered all my questions.

The rooms are clean, very quiet, and spacious. We loved that the property comes with a full kitchen and we appreciated the extra space.

The pool was a major attraction for both of our young kids. We needed to make a reservation to use the pool due to Covid19 and we spent an hour each day during our say. The staff Caleb, Patricia and Kathy sanitized the pool areas before each use.

Kathy the guest service supervisor made sure that our stay would be a memorable experience and she delivered. She definitely went well above and beyond during on our stay.

I would recommend TownPlace Suites Salt Lake City Layton and we plan to return in a heartbeat. 5/5 stars!

As a frequent Marriott user this hotel is by far the worst Marriott hotel that I have ever visited. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place is dirty, tvs don’t work and the light bulb was burnt out. Obviously, the management are not checking the custodial staff work. This property is an embarrassment to Marriott.

I am sorry that you did not have a good experience during your stay. Did you happen to report the TV's or the burnt out light bulb to the front desk. We would have been more than happy to take care of it for you.

All the toilets in this hotel are sized for children, except for the handicap rooms. Do yourself a favor and purchase a booster seat from somewhere nearby. According to staff it’s been like this for many years. After that experience who cares what the rest of the hotel has to offer.

Hello billp143. Yes unfortunately all the toilets are the same in all the rooms except the handicap rooms. I am not sure what we can do about that until they decide to replace the toilets. I can check into however about the booster seats.

My older children wanted to go swimming and so they got all ready and went Over to the pool at 9 AM on our last morning there because they hadn’t had a chance to go yet. Check out wasn’t until 12 pm. When they got to the pool there was a sign on the fence saying that you would need to reserve a time slot due to social distancing and covid. That was fine, however we had not been given that information beforehand and when they were in the middle of reading it a very rude lady came out and yelled at them about having to have a reservation first. There was not any information in the hotel room whatsoever about needing reservations or anything else concerning covid. If she would have just given them a minute they would have finished reading the sign and left. She didn’t need to come out and be rude to them. How about you give your guests that information ahead of time by having your Covid requirements posted somewhere in the room so we know to reserve a time slot beforehand instead of being rude to innocent guests who actually chose your Hotel to help you out during Covid. Will not be returning until they can hire staff that isn’t rude. Unless you saw them actually going through the gate into the pool area, and blatantly disobeying your sign posted, you didn’t need to react in such a way.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns about the pool. I am sorry that your children felt that they were being yelled at. We usually don't even go out there unless we see them trying to use their key to enter the pool area even though the room key will not open the pool gate. I will address this with my staff and make sure that we are considering the guests feelings about the pool and will also make sure that we have better communications with our guests about needing reservations for the pool. We will start letting the guests know at check in about about the pool rules. Again, I apologize if the kids felt they were being yelled at. I don't think that was the intention of the front desk.

Not what I expected from a Marriott property. Mismatched and dinged furniture, dated bathroom, sketchy rug … the bed was comfy enough but any movement produced a great deal of squeaking. It seemed pretty clean, though, overall. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hope is clean and well maintained, but I think the staff is what keeps me coming back. They are very accommodating and responsive to all our needs. I’ve stayed there several times and don’t see a need to go anywhere else.

We stayed one night and it was a nice place to stay on our trip. Close to Salt Lake City. The hotel was clean. The trees were changing so it made the hotel very pretty. Ate out of our room which was no problem.

We checked in Sunday evening July 3rd on our Independence Day holiday to find one of the worst hotels ever! The horrible stench of cheap perfumed air freshener hits you at the hall entry door. The room was even WORSE! It knocked you over. IMPOSSIBLE situation for anyone with allergies to perfume or environmental toxins. You could NOT stay there without becoming ill it was THAT BAD! To top it off, there was NO toilet paper in the bathroom and there were a pile of dirty pillows stacked up at the end of bed without any pillow case covers on them. There was an old laundry basket laying on the floor and the furniture was terribly old, outdated. It was very obvious that the hotel staff were attempting to mask a nastier odor with their putrid air spray that could have killed a cat. To make things worse, when we called the front desk to inform them of the problem and let them know we would in no way be able to stay there without going to the emergency room, the desk clerk could not have cared less and didn't bother calling us back. When we went to the lobby to get them to find us another room, they couldn't even be bothered to APOLOGIZE for our distress and inconvenience. We had driven 300 miles that day and were tired and just wanted to relax and enjoy the evening, but that was ruined as we had to go find another room at another hotel on a holiday weekend. I never would have believed that Marriott properties could decline to this level - SHAME on YOU!

Hi there, We are looking forward to having you here with us soon. Room locations are based upon availability at the time of arrival due to the fact that we are an Extended Stay Hotel it is hard for us to Guarantee a location of future reservations, However we are more that happy to place a request for a floor or location for you. The pool hours are 8:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M. You can also use our sister property the Courtyard that is located next door as well. Your Grandchildren are more than welcome to swim in the pool as long as there is adult supervision. We hope we answered your questions and if you may need any further assistance please let us know. See You soon :) Natalie General Manager
