My family has traveled to many luxury resorts throughout Europe, and this place ranks up there as one of our absolute favorites. The accommodations for a large family with interconnecting cottage rooms was beautiful and private. The large pool, fort, biking trails, fishing and s’mores kept my 5 kids entertained for 3 full days. And the food is absolutely amazing, kids and parents thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, lunch by the pool, and dinners in the stunning barn. I still can’t believe this luxury getaway is only an hour from Houston. We will most definitely return to the Hill house farm!

Was looking for location to share a nice, quiet dinner for Valentine's Day and found information regarding the Historic Hill House and Farm. I am typically cautious about trying new places for special occassions but the reviews were all very positive and the venue looked very inviting. Immediately upon being greeted at the entrance, one can tell this is going to be a unique dining experience. I would have never thought that I would describe a barn as "elegant" but, oddly, that was the first thought that came to mind. The setting was perfect. The owner greeted us when we entered. He, and the rest of the staff, made you feel that you were more than just customers, you were guests invited to share an evening with them. Since it was a Valentine's Day event, they were serving a special five course dinner. The server was excellent. He took the time to describe each dish as it was brought to the table and very attentive between each course. The food was absolutely amazing. While each dish was delicious, the lobster bisque was, without a doubt, the best. We joking told the server to let the chef know the lobster bisque was a life changing experience. The venue, hospitality, service, food, and setting made for the perfect evening.

Where do I begin. I first laid eyes on Historic Hill House, in search of a venue for my wedding, in July. The barn was merely a skeleton of a structure and I had already fallen in love. I met with Michael Bradbury and his enthusiasm and vision were all I needed to know that this was the spot. As the structure began to go up, I almost told him he needed to redo the rendering because it quickly became clear that the actual building was going to surpass what was originally drawn. I anxiously awaited them to find their chef. And was excited to see what gem Mike would find to add to the team. Nothing could have prepared me for the creative flair, expertise and likeability of Chef Josh Slaughter. What the designer of Historic Hill House created and assembled in and around the barn, the new to the property chef, cultivates and compliments with his unique and delicious culinary science. Our wedding was everything I dreamed, imagined and more. We had a destination wedding feel, allowing us more time with our out of town family members and I was proud to have those near and dear to me stay in the Hill house cabins and experience everything Hill House Had to offer (Except the pool. It was February after all). The ballroom of the barn is AMAZING. As I get back photos from the wedding, every. single. one. had a beautiful back drop. Inside out and, Historic Hill House is exceptional, extraordinary and just plain gorgeous. The rooms are five star plus. The individual amenities in the rooms are both thoughtful and delicious (a plank with olives, cheese, crackers, fruit and cookies and a smores kit for their fire pit!). Jodie Domengeaux Schrier is a doll and very personable. She will have no trouble booking up Hill House as a destination venue for not only weddings but corporate retreats, reunions, galas and any other large gathering. My only suggestion is for potential clients. Hurry up and book or you may miss your chance. This place is going to be busy .
