Golden Avenida Family Suites offers a family-centric atmosphere, complete with evening kids' entertainment, although the late schedule may not suit younger guests. The pool and sunbeds are a hit among guests, yet some feel room cleanliness could be better. While the noise can be an issue, many find the hotel's location ideal for beach access and local attractions. The rooms are generally spacious and clean, and the service is often lauded for its friendly and efficient staff, despite occasional housekeeping oversights.

A typical spannish resort style hotel which was good though.
Pool which is lovely to walk around and at night when it is all lit up.
Fun entertainment next to the pool in the day which moves indoors in the evening time which they have a good line up of events on.
Resteurant was of a good size with hot and tasty meals, you could eat as much as you want and is of a good quality.
Apartments and rooms come with a big belcony especially on the top floor of the corners of the hotel.
I enjoyed my stay and will stay again

I rated the golden Avenida suites 5 stars because the service was great and the staff were so nice. On the day we arrived we checked in to our room without any hassle the rooms were very looked after there was not a single spec of dirt we got all our stuff organised and thin we headed down to the pool it is perfect for children there is an upstairs pool for children, two pools for downstairs one for older children and another for adults and teens we got all inclusive and the snacks and drinks were wheel worth the money you would be paying more not getting all inclusive it was not the first time we had been so the staff recognised us . There were three bar staff that made my stay 10 times better Julian, Diego and Sarr. They were so friendly to me and especially. Anna in the restaurant always gives straws to children she has been working there a long time and the food was delicious... WELL DONE Avenida

We have just returned from a ten night stay at the Golden Avenida and we had a fantastic time. The three highlights of this hotel for me were the staff, the food and the cleanliness of all areas of the hotel.

I find booking holidays with kids fairly stressful as the last thing you want after spending a fortune is to be greeted by grumpy staff and mediocre food that you spend half the time checking if it's cooked all the way through! This is not the case at the Golden Avenida. From the staff on reception, through the dining room and bar staff to the guys and girls running the entertainment, they never stop. The food was always varied and well cooked and we were spoiled for choice. Suites are not the biggest (for five of us) but they were perfectly ample and the maids came every day to change towels and make beds etc.

Salou centre is only a five/ten minute walk away and is full of shops, bars and restaurants, although we never ate out so I can't comment on any particular establishments.

We stayed half board but I would fully recommend choosing the all inclusive option as in the long run, for a family, it seems the best value for money.

Visited from the 4th June for 1 week as a family of 4-we have children aged 1 & 5.

On arrival the reception staff were really friendly, unfortunately our room wasn’t ready so we put it cases in the luggage room and had a wander around whist we waited. We decided to upgrade from half board to all inclusive this was around 480 euros for all of us for 7days.

We got to our room (308) around 1pm. Room is a great size and perfect for a family as it has a separate bedroom, it has a small kitchen area with fridge & microwave and sink which is great. I must say though, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t the best, floors weren’t clean, couch in the living room had stains and we had to ask for the loo brush to be taken out as it was really dirt. Rooms are just quite dated around the edges.

Food was nice. Fresh pancakes and Nutella & fresh omelette for breakfast. They also have real bacon. Lots of variety for everyone here. Snacks great burgers nuggets etc. Anna the host is lovely

Pool area is great my boys loved it all. The baby room is great just a little chill out room to relax for 5 mins with the kids.

Entertainment was too late for us 10pm & kids 8.15pm to be honest it was quite noisy from our room till late.

Besides the small niggles I have mentioned we would love to return as we had such a nice 1st family holiday. Everything went great.

8/10 for us. See you again soon!

We are glad to read you had a good time, that you liked the food, the pool, the entertainment, the baby room and our staff. We are very sorry to read that to your opinion, the room was not up to your cleaniless standards, If you had only contacted reception, this would have been solved straight away. We have taken good notice of your comments and will use them to improve our services. Hope to see you again soon too! Kind regards, Golden Guest Experience Team.

Just coming to the end of our week stay.
Positives.... decent location, a little far to walk to the beach etc when it's seriously hot but doable .
The staff that work here are top notch. Bar service excellent, Engel is so hard working and entertaining. Staff in the restaurant always removing plates, glasses etc , very attentive.
The food we thought was very good. Better than any other hotel we have stayed in. Alot of choice, good quality and not repetitive.
The rooms excellent size, comfy beds.
The entertainment team work really hard and my kids were never bored. Pool size excellent, one side very deep!!
Negatives... our particular room location, we were road side so noisy and not a pleasant view. We were also only one room away from the maid closet on level 1 and close to the reception area. Maids very noisy in the mornings when getting their supplies. Can hear all noise down in reception as echoes. You cannot go to bed until after midnight due to the noise of guests returning to their rooms.
We would definitely stay here again if we returned to salou

Ok so have just recently spent a week here with my 2 children 9 and 15
Hotels is beautiful clean friendly
Staff where very helpful kind and cheerful
We went half board but decided to upgrade when we arrived to all inclusive this was a extra £40 per day adults and £18 per day for kids so not cheap as we already had half board. I then discovered that my 15yr old would be classed as a adult so had to pay adult price for him even though he was given a child’s wristband and obviously wouldn’t be drinking alcohol so found this a little unreasonable.
The food was really nice and changed every day with a good choice of different food and restaurant was clean bright and cool.
The rooms where beautiful (we had a family suite with pool view) it had a kitchen with fridge with small freezer microwave and kettle, bathroom with bath and shower a bedroom with 2 single beds and a huge wardrobe and main room had double bed that was so so comfortable and a dinning table, very smart and clean. The rooms where very well soundproofed when the balcony door was closed. Air conditioning was very good maybe even too cold.
The kids entertainment was ok for my 9yr old with a few days where she had plenty to do but sometimes was a bit young for her but I understand they need to work with all age groups, my 15yr old did get a little bored at times but they did have a pool table air hockey table tennis and shooting for him to do so not too bad. The evening entertainment was really good and varied the had face painting or balloon modelling followed by a kids disco then a quiz and varied shows from acrobatics to queen tribute to karaoke.
The pool was perfect something for all and plenty of sun beds at any times of the day.
Pool side snacks where very fast food like so not great but reasonably priced.
The Area was nice and only a short walk to lots of shops and restaurants and bars and the beach.
The only negative I would say is that with the all inclusive u only get a small choice of ice creams that are mini and the same every day and the poolside snack are always toasties hot dogs chicken nuggets and chips ( no healthy food unless u go sit in the restaurant for lunch)
You had a good choice of drinks including alcohol but if you are not a big drinker or are a teenager I’m not sure it’s worth it. It was however worth it for my 9 yrs old who enjoyed the unlimited slushies and ice creams!
All in all we very much enjoyed our stay and would most definitely return.

Just back from 7 nights half board, with our 2 year old, we can't fault this hotel we all have a great holiday.
Check in was fast and easy, we arrived later than expected and we shown straight through to the buffet as it was due to close, so we left our bags in reception and came back to finish checking in after we had eaten.
All staff were really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were spacious with long balconies over looking the pools, loved that there was a mini kitchen and separate bedroom, bathroom was well equipped with shower gel, hair dryer and soap and more than enough towels, the shower was really powerful and didn't change temperature at all.
Pools were all cold which was we expected coming in May even the indoor pool was a little too cold for me although the indoor jacuzzi was lovely, we didn't see much of the entertainment so can't comment on that.
The food was better than expected, alot of variety and my partner who is vegan also found plenty to eat. Cocktails were good although around €10 as we weren't on all inclusive.
The shops and restaurants were around a 10min walk away so a great location, also within walking distance of portaventura themepark.
Overall we would highly recommend this hotel and if we choose to visit Salou again would look to stay here.

Recently returned from a 7 night stay here.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Food was very good, we stayed all inclusive and we sure did make the most. The snack bar was amazing and the quality was very good. We really enjoyed the hotdogs! Breakfast was good and so was the evening meal.
Yes sometimes the food can get repetitive but that’s what you usually get in all inclusive.

Drinks were amazing, branded spirits on all inclusive such as Smirnoff and Passoa. We made the most out of the all inclusive magnums and twister ice lollies.

The hotel is very clean and the staff can’t do enough for you!

Special shout-out to Belen from the animation team who always made a fuss of our little girl.

Also shoutout to Juan, Engel, Rueyler and Lia! Amazing bar staff who can’t do enough for you.

The ladies who cleaned our room were lovely but didn’t do a good thorough job with cleaning our room as they forgot to change our overflowing bins etc. As soon as I let them know, they sorted this out for us!

Rooms are spacious and we had a view of the pool, I highly recommend a pool view room. It made everything so easy having a kettle, microwave and a fridge to make our baby’s food and bottles.

Evening entertainment was generally very good and our little girl loved the mini disco and a visit from Goldy/ Goldina.
Pools are spacious and plenty of sunbeds.

Will definitely be returning again to this hotel in a few years time when my little girl is older!!

Myself and my partner stayed here at the end of Sept with our 6 month old. The room was great, we had a pool view room and had the main studio style room (bed, table, kitchenette) and an extra bedroom for our little one. The hotel provides proper cots which are great- my little one slept through the night every night which never happens at home! The main room could be a little noisy at night with people returning to their rooms and slamming doors but this didn’t really bother myself and my partner and it couldn’t be heard from the baby’s room. The kitchenette had a microwave and fridge which was handy when making bottles. The room was really clean when we arrived, but throughout our week’s stay it didn’t appear to get cleaned other than the beds made. We were given fresh towels every day but the used ones werent collected for some reason.

Can’t fault the food at all, it was really nice every night, especially the meat. Not as big of a selection as other all inclusives I’ve been to but what was on offer was quality and there was always lots of fresh fruit, salad, and basics of pizza and chips available. All of the staff in the restaurant and bar were really friendly and made a fuss of my little boy which he loved.

Can’t really comment on the entertainment as my little one never managed to sleep through or stay awake for it so we usually had to go to bed before it started at 10pm, but it always sounded good.

There is a soft play area for under 3’s which was really good for letting my little one have a roll around and to get out of the sun somewhere other than the room.

Unfortunately the pool really let the hotel down as it was just way too cold to use. We tried all of the pools at different times of day and they were always freezing- way too cold for us to get in let alone a baby. There was an indoor pool available which we tried however this wasn’t the cleanest and was just as cold as the outdoor ones. Really disappointing as my little boy loves swimming but even dipping his feet in freaked him out as it was so cold. On the bright side the main pool was large and always nearly empty so more room for older kids that weren’t bothered about the temperature. There is a jacuzzi that we didn’t end up trying as it was always full, and there is also 2 baby pools- 1 with slides and 1 on a quieter deck up some stairs.

There is plenty to do around the hotel, lots of really good shops, bars and restaurants through the town and down onto the promenade. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away and the closest bars are only a 2 min walk from the hotel.

Overall a great hotel and we would have loved to return if it wasn’t for the pool being too cold to use!

HOTEL.
Stayed for 11 nights, okay hotel with nice layout and good pool area. Lots of sunbeds available at all times of the day during early July. However also lots of bugs and bug bites across the week and constantly swatting bugs off while sunbathing. Stayed in a family suite (2 conjoined bedrooms), the second bedroom only had one plug socket and it was on the ceiling where the TV plugs in so only suitable for very long cables or extension leads. Free cold drinking water top up station 24/7 near the pool. Good range of food for breakfast and dinner for people with no dietary restrictions and food was tasty, however there’s no allergen labelling so the chef has to point out what’s suitable for your restrictions every meal (e.g what contains dairy) and extremely limited choice for vegans. Dairy-free suitable meals at the hotel included only beans on toast for breakfast, casseroles or paellas for dinner, and fruit for dessert so all became very repetitive. The poolside bar has allergen labelling on the menu however staff state it is outdated and not accurate (e.g the current bbq sauce brand used by the kitchen contains dairy but the meals containing bbq sauce on the menu say dairy free). Friendly staff, however the room maids don’t seem to do anything other than replace towels and neaten the bedding. Coffee sachets, shower soap dispensers and toilet rolls weren’t topped up, the bedding wasn’t changed/replaced in the 12 days I was here, the dirty balcony floor wasn’t swept, used china (cups and bowls) weren’t cleaned or taken away. Definitely didn’t seem like a 4 star hotel.

LOCAL AREA.
Tarragona has lots to sightsee and is only a 30 minute €4 bus ride away. Barcelona is a 2 hour €25 coach ride away. Local Salou area was okay but 1-2 chains seem to own the whole beachfront so all local restaurant menus are the same and often very americanised.

Would not recommend or stay again.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review and we appreciate your recent visit to our hotel. We are sorry that your stay was not as positive as we would have liked. Indeed in the dinning room, there is no allergen labelling as it is buffet style. It is possible that cuttlery changes from 1 tray of food to another and that is why we prefer that the chef informs the guests what is suitable to have for each individual person with allergies and if necessary prepares something special for them. The same is applicable to dairy-free and vegans. We are very sorry if you had any inconveniences. We have passed on your comments about the room service to the housekeeping department, we are sorry you had this experience. They will look into this to avoid future discomforts for our guests. Although we would have liked it, if you would have informed reception about this to improve this service at the moment you stayed in the hotel. We are very satisfied that you liked our pool and the amount of sunbeds, the free filtered water station and our staff. We do hope you have enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your constructive criticism and we take your feedback seriously. Thanks to the observations of our customers, we can improve day by day. Our maximum objective, day after day, is that our customers leave satisfied. Best regards, Golden Guest Experience Team.
