Hotel Villamarina Club seems to strike a chord with guests looking for a fun atmosphere, with its entertainment and pool snack bar receiving accolades. However, some travelers have reservations about the room sizes and dated facilities. While the hotel's location offers proximity to shops and the beach, it's not right in the heart of the action, and guests occasionally report transportation hiccups. The service typically gets a thumbs up for the staff's friendliness, although some guests have experienced slow service at the bar. Despite its liveliness, a few guests note the noise level and call for updates in rooms and amenities.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here, we are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 7. We had a family room and although it was on the small side it was absolutely fine, we had a double and 2 single beds which were all very comfortable, the bathroom was a very good size and the shower was Fantastic! There was a bath too but we never used it. The room was very clean and cleaned each day, plenty of fresh towels left every day for us and toilet paper, bins were emptied each day and fresh bedding every 2 days.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful, cannot praise the children’s entertainers enough, they were was great and my kids certainly loved it, it was my daughters birthday while we were there and they made a huge fuss of her, they did party games for her and got her up on stage and sang happy birthday to her. The mini disco was a big hit, they get all the kids up dancing and playing games, then they have a band or singer on which we’re all very good, we had karaoke one night which was a big hit, even with the children.

Food was very good, plenty of variety and the restaurant was nice and big so could always get a good table, whatever we went there was always plenty of food to choose from. The hotel is in a good location, it’s not right in the centre so you’re out of all the hustle and bustle but only a 20 minute walk from it all, or a quick taxi which reception will happily order for you. There are few local little shops within a 5 minute walk where you can buy pretty much anything.

The pools are both a good size, one is shallow enough for my 7 year old to jump in swim, the other one is a deeper pool but does have a baby section too for the really little ones. Always a sunbed available and plenty of signs asking people not to reserve sunbeds with towels and towels maybe removed if you do that, but I do have to say a lot of people still did, although we never had a problem finding a sunbed. Pool bar open from 12pm serves all your drinks all day and has plenty of hot food available, you help yourselves to hot snacks throughout the day and it’s regularly topped up. Main bar open all the time with two pool tables and a few arcade games, the bar staff are really lovely. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for a great holiday Villa marina club!

Visited with a friend for a mid may get away. Whilst some parts of the accommodation may be a little basic, the value, service, facilities and what is on offer far outweighed a little room decor. Spent 6 days up on the roof solarium, in and out of the bubble pools. Food was fresh, well presented, and if you looked, there was something for everyone. Didn’t bring my child for this one, but he would have been in kid heaven with all the entertainment, activities and poolside buffet station. This hotel has succeeded in really being all inclusive. All age groups , and nationalities were catered for, joined in together, and made a really nice atmosphere. This in turn meant that the all inclusive drinks seemed to self regulate themselves. Holiday makers got their fill, but were mindful of family groups with young children and grandparents. The whole family could enjoy evening entertainment if you wanted to, and we were all tucked up in our rooms and quiet by midnight . The guys on the bar, restaurant, reception, housekeeping and maintenance all seemed to work very hard, enjoy their jobs, and we’re always visible and on hand. Well done guys. Hope to return again soon. You were so accommodating that we rarely left the site - the reason we need to return and actually see the area a bit more next time x

We have just returned from a week here , I had read good reviews and bad reviews so went with an open mind. Firstly if you flying into Barcelona I recommend that you get a private transfer we spent nearly 3 hours on the coach doing drops off and nearly the same again in return journey, it was a long pull . The hotel itself is dated it is in need of a refurbishment, however it is very clean the cleaners do a great job , our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels bedding etc. the rooms are very small and a bit of a strange layout, with the sink outside the bathroom and only 2 plug sockets in whole room, I took an extension lead with USB ports on it ( I do this every holiday) so it was fine. The food was lovely we only ate out one night and that was through choice , plenty of variety and fresh you would be really hard pushed if you couldn’t find something to eat . The staff were friendly and welcoming and very hard working . The only downside for me was location you are very much in the Spanish area of town, it is a good 20 mins walk to beach front then another 15/20 to the ‘main’ but with shops and restaurants etc , it is a lovely walk but still a good bit from hotel we done it a couple of nights and got a taxi back (10euros). It is a lovely basic hotel I wouldn’t stay again but only because we like to be in the middle of things.

We booked this hotel very last minute due to a TUI nightmare. I read the reviews first which mainly seemed positive (never believe all negative reviews). We have stayed in all inclusive hotels for years and have never had a bad experience but oh my!!!!! Villamarina was by far the worst hotel ive ever stayed in, so much so that we requet a change of hotel and were moved within 24 hours by Jet2. The hotel is nothing like advertised, 2 small pools that are in the main road. Food is poor and drinks are even worse. Snack bar is very minimal and drinks are all served by 1 waiter which takes ages. Water is only served as tap water and bottled water is charged at €1 a bottle. The staff were rude. The rooms were tiny, the batroom was so small that the sink doesnt evern fit in, its in the bedroom! The hotel is old and dirty and no chance at all of getting a sun lounger. Avoid at all costs!!!

Absolutely terrible. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a rather miserable bald man who made us wait whilst he did something on his computer for ten minutes. When we finally checked in and got to the room we were quite disappointed. The interior was very dated and the bathroom only has half a bath and a grubby shower curtain. There were only two plugs in the room one above the sink and one on the floor. The hotel itself was full of children, absolutely everywhere. The pools are tiny and there is a roof top terrace which is adults only with two hot tubs. The hot tubs are so dirty you can see the oil in them and the ‘bar’ on the terrace only serves beers and fizzy drinks. The food is essentially the same everyday and it is very British, the coffee and tea is from a vending machine. Overall not a good experience. The hotel needs a complete revamp. We came home early as we did not want to spend another night there.

From start to finish this hotel and it's staff go above and beyond all expectations. While the rooms are basic they are perfectly adequate for what you need for a holiday unless you plan on spending your time in the room. From check in the staff could not do enough from phoning taxis to finding missing teddy bears!!. Nothing was too much for them. The food every evening varied and we had nothing twice, it was a hot buffet with plenty of choice. Evening entertainment varied every night although you do have the traditional bingo and quiz every night. The pool areas were clean as were all the common areas throughout the hotel. You do have to request a tv remote and also pay for a room safe but there is no problem doing that. The hotel is less than 15 minutes walk from the most beautiful beaches. The area is quiet in general and once the evening entertainment has finished the hotel quietens down for a good nights rest. Rooms were cleaned every day. We had a balcony room at the front and were not disrupted in our sleep. Overall I couldn't fault this hotel

We came to the villa marina for the week last week, it was our first family holiday abroad, we travelled with 4 children 17/15/10&1 and from the moment we arrived we was greeted by management and made to feel most welcome. All staff went above and beyond for us & so much love was shown to our baby. The staff are faultless nothing is to much of a problem and was always happy and smiley and ready for a chat, they all work so hard and constantly on the go.
The hotel itself was so clean, every morning you could smell how clean and sterile everything was. There was always a excellent choice of food and variety. The ice creams was always well stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable and pleasant, we had a terrace room and it was bliss! So peaceful! The entertainment staff was always about talking to everybody and making sure kids was happy and wanted to get involved. I can not find one single fault with this hotel, we will be visiting again next year without a doubt and are looking forward to seeing the staff once again. Also if your staying here pop down the road to sunshine supermarket it’s ran by 2 brothers and they are genuinely the kindest nicest people you could meet, they have lots of tips for the area :) also a visit to portaventura is a must!! Thank you to all the staff at Villamarina for making our 1st family holiday everything it could be :)

3 Star Hotel with 5 Star Entertainment. Don’t know about individual experiences but ours was fine. This is a 3 Star Hotel and the facilities were as to be expected or better. The highlight being the entertainment. Rob and his team were brilliant and the acts were far better than we had experienced in 4 Star Hotels. All the staff we encountered were helpful and hardworking. Food was not rubbish there was always a good choice at every meal. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, again an upgrade for a 3 Star hotel having freshly scooped rather than pots. There were the occasional dirty plates but you just pick another as there were always plenty to choose from. Never had a meal where I was disappointed with with what I could have. Swimming pools were an ok size and always seemed clean. Rooms were a little small but always kept clean and supplied with clean towels. Roof terrace was great sun trap.
Now for a few minus points. We were in room 69 and some sort of generator that kicked in every 15 minutes was very close by which wasn’t great. The sausages and bacon at breakfast weren’t great. Perhaps they could source an alternative supplier. Was surprised to find no Irish Cream included in the all inclusive drinks. Thought the pool tables were over priced at 2 Euros. Usually £1 back home. Would have been nice to have the Table Tennis out permanently. Pool could do with being heated. Disappointed that the roof terrace bar wasn’t open. Problem children and drunk teenagers will always be around but these are the responsibility of the parents and not the hotel. Unfortunately we British like most countries are blessed with our share of these issues. Overall these small problems would not put me off. You get a much better than average 3 Star Hotel experience here and Salou as a resort is also lovely. Only about 8 Euros single fare on train to Barcelona also👍

Check in staff were nice, gave us our envelope with the room number and sent us to the floor we were on. We had booked as part of a group with another 3 family's. Our room was on the first floor while they all had rooms on the 3rd floor. Was abit pointless booking together as we were away from them in the hotel.
We got to out room and there was a huge lack of storage for the 5 of us that were in the room. We had to live out of suitcases for the week.
With booking a room for 5 people, 2 adults, 2 children and a teenager, we thought that we would have enough beds. Our teen however had to sleep on the floor!
The shower frame was held up with a metal chain thing, the toilet wouldn't work.
Balconies were not safe for children to be on, there is a gap in them. There was also a gap between the room door and the floor. You could hear every noise possible from the hall and people didn't keep their children quite Ian the evenings going back to the rooms. We had banging on the walls from the next room and the door banging alot aswel.
The cleaners only change the beds once a week, they just remake them each morning. They don't dust or sweep each morning either and we had to ask for fresh towels.
The air con until leaked water but did make the room cold.
My toddler woke up crying one of the nights we were there and the people next door with the noisiest children I jave ever heard rang down to reception and we had security at our door because of the noise!

The food was shocking!
Chicken croquettes, fish croquettes, they were vile!!
Bolognese was horrible, lasagne was chewy! I could go on.
The food repeated itself alot and we were only there for 1 week.
The tiles around the pools are loose and the ground to walk around outside has alot of the tiles sticking up so you trip over them. The outdoor toilets at the pools are a disgrace!

Reception did help us book days out.
The only thing that saves this hotel is the entertainment! There is a young girl that goes from morning until night getting the kids involved.
I would never return to this hotel as long as I live.

Booked 11 days at villamarina 8 of us in total. My 7 yr old Daughter picked up an MRSA infection from the dirty pool! The pools were not cleaned once when we were there, I asked for pool cleaning/chlorine level records and was told they didn’t have any!!!
She now has scars all over her face/body and scalp!! She has lost 3 weeks of school holidays since we have been back him as she was unable
To wear clothes and leave the house. Do not book this hotel!!
There were buckets scattered around the hotel to catch the water dripping from the air conditioning units, the sockets in the rooms were dangerous to use not fitted properly to the wall.

We had to move rooms on the first day as the balcony was unsafe it was not attached to the wall and you could easily fit an adult foot in the space between balcony and wall. I had 7yr old and 10 yr old in that room!!

I would advise anyone thinking of booking this hotel
To not bother! Don’t waste your money!
