We visited here for a week and found the hotel to be clean and in a good location. There was a soccer tournament on so at times the hotel was overrun with the teams and could be very loud.We liked the wrist band payment option but if you needed to top up your band with cash rather than card be prepared to wait as the reception desk was always crazy busy with not enough staff to deal with the constant check in queue and queries people may have .I found most of the staff on reception to be not very friendly except one who unfortunately I don't know her name .Most were abrupt and un helpful and not willing to try and understand English. We had an incident with the indoor pool where we were told it was being cleaned as someone had Pooped in it .Unfortunately we were told with the use of other not so pleasant language .I feel it was unnecessary that we were told this and only needed to know it was closed for cleaning as my family now refused ro use it dor the remaining days of our holiday. When trying to get a refund for the tickets I was left waiting about 30 mins to get a refund and had to explain why more than once. The dining room for breakfast was like a market place and very disorganised. Cereal bowls were nit available beside the cereal , butter was not beside the bread.Glasses were far away from the juice .Tea bags were beside the food and not near to the cups and hot water .There was a large variety of food but queues were large so hot foot was often cold by the time you got to eat it .I was glad we were not eating in the hotel for dinner as the queue for the dining room stretched across the lobby .We did try the Italian style buffet restaurant one evening and was very disappointed as the quality and variety of the food was poor..If you are staying in the hotel.and looking for a nice place to eat give the Fox and hound a try it is bear by and offers a huge variety of high quality food wiry great service The mini golf area needs a face-lift it'd tired and run down with dangerous bars around the course that need repair. We had a good holiday and the hotel was good value for money and despite the couple of issues we had I would come here again and recommend it if you were self catering .

we stopped there for a week all inclusive. the hotel room was nice and clean and cleaners came every day. loved the pools and lots of things for kids to do outside with the play area. we were told there was 3 different restaurants but the italian was closed the palm corner restaurant closed a day after we arrived and the snack bar closed 3 days earlier and our all inclusive bar outside closed 2 days early but when you went inside to order a drink none of the staff spoke english so when ordering a pina colada god knows what drink i got.but the most awful thing was the food it was awful and luke warm on a good day i have never been to a hotel where it was so bad complained loads they were not bothered. the hotel guests are mostly all spanish so the entertainment was catered to them but that didn’t bother us. i would go back to this hotel only on a self catering as it’s not far from the town.

Lots of facilities for families. Friendly staff. Food was good with plenty of choice. Good value for money. Great location 5 mins to promenade 20 mins to portaventura. The hotel is huge with 780 bedrooms so there were constant queues and it was very noisy in the lobby area. There was no food served at the pool bar so no lunch choice apart from going into the restaurant which you couldn't seem to do on half board basis and just pay. This meant we had to go out for lunch every day which was a bit annoying. It may be different in high season.

We are currently on our 3/4th day here at this hotel and i have absolutely no complaints. The hotel has predominantly spanish guests, which i have to say has been a pleasure,we are enjoying the feel of a real spanish holiday. The rooms are spotless and the hotel staff have been very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The food is fine, always something for everyone, pool snacks are a bonus. We have stayed in many budget hotels all over spain And the canary islands. However this is the first to give you free water at all times and crisps and nuts to snack on. Perfectly located, social distancing measures spot on, thoroughly enjoyable and would definitely return. Thank you Jaime 1, keep up the good work , we are currently staying in room 412 with a pool view which is perfect.and plan to enjoy the rest of our time here, would highly recommend this place.

Rooms were lovely and clean. Plenty of room in them and the cleaners were in everyday with clean towels, bedding was changed once while we were here too. There was complimentary shampoo/shower gel and hand soap and new ones as soon as you ran out, plus a hairdryer in the bathroom, so no need to take your own. Pools were fantastic, there's a choice of 3....2 outdoor and 1 indoor plus the slides
Downsides
The lifts....for the size of the hotel, there are 4 lifts.....2 were broken our whole stay, so sometimes you could wait 10 minutes for the lift.
Food was awful. I'm sure some people will like it, but it just wasn't for us. It was lukewarm and not a great deal of choice.

Stayed at Hotel Jaime 1 for 3 days, 2 nights last weekend. I read reviews before I came thinking, OMG where am I going too but, I have to say, I am dumbfounded at some of the issues people say they had. My Mum, Brother, and 2 Nieces also stayed and had their own room. It is a big complex with several blocks, The reception was always busy with people checking in and out but when I arrived I was lucky as I got a taxi and beat the transfer coaches of the tour operators to the hotel so check in was a breeze. The rooms are a little dated however, they were spotless clean, and the bed was comfy. There was Plenty of storage space with a big wardrobe and drawers. I booked a pool view room and was allocated block one (main block) room 4101. The only thing they could do with was a little mini fridge to keep drinks cold. The room had a great view of the pool. We went Full Board and always found something decent to eat. Lots of choice at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There were queues when the restaurants first opened each day but if 90% of guests decide they want to go into the restaurants at exactly the same time, then there will be queues. A little tip, just wait 15 or 20 minutes after the restaurants open and guess what surprise surprise no queues and you walk straight in. There is the main restsurant inside, another outside beside the pool and an Italian so plenty of chocie to go to. Will you get English or Irish Sausages for breakfast, nope, and the reason I mention this is yes, believe it or not, I actually did hear somebody complaining at reception because there were no English sausages. Seriously. There was me thinking we were in Spain right, but apparently people can't live without an English sausage even on holiday. Anyway if that's what you want there are plenty of restaurants less than 5 min walk where you will get it. The complex is a mix of Irish, British, and Spanish guests. Pools were great, The slides were fun too. Never had an issue each day getting sunbeds, and there were 5 of us. We didn't have to dash down at 7am to put towels down even though some people did. Staff we interacted with were polite and pleasant. Big shout out to Paco, who works on the pool bar. Also smiling and gave great recommendations and measures in the drinks. The Hotel is in a great location, less than 5 minutes to a supermarket, shops bars, restaurant's. The beach is a short 10-minute walk away. We really enjoyed the stay, especially given how inexpensive the stay was. Including flights it cost less than it would have to go somewhere in the UK for a long weekend.

Wouldn't recommend this hotel
There was a few good points like kids pools have daily entertainment in Spanish which kids enjoy but no floats allowed even though hotel shop sells them.
Breakfast is nice , lunch average didn't try dinner as didn't look good.
All inclusive bar should have a few more options and make fresh cocktails not ones from a machine.
Hotel staff most I met wore nice two at reception where very unhelpful as we asked to ring a taxi for us to go water park we wore directed to a taxi rank where we waited 50 minutes for a taxi as weren't regular.
Rooms don't have a fridge and an iron is 40 euro to rent for a week which you don't get back.
Rooms aren't cleaned properly.
Entertainment at night time is okay obviously in Spanish so children don't understand but go along.
Kids waterslides are good but are for 5 or 6 up my brother who is 4.5 years wasn't allowed on due to height restrictions.
Park is good too.
Hotel is safe as alot of security.
Also good location.
But too many little things needed

Hotel staff very hard working and although not all are fluent in English there is multi-lingual staff available upon request.
Rooms were clean, Air-con very welcome and shower pressure was perfect.
Meal times were like groundhog day with lots of food wasted and lots of food smuggled out by guests. 'Only take what you can eat' and 'No large bags' signs should be implied.
Both pools and water slides were fantastic and the snack bar makes a great addition to the hotel.
The evening entertainment was mostly in Spanish however we were able to thoroughly enjoy the live band one night who played lots of English music :)
We checked out at 11am and our coach was not due until 6pm so we used a locker with key (10 euro deposit) to keep our valuables secure. We also had full use of facilities until departure.
Lady & Gent who own the gift shop made a big impression on myself with their English language, also the female life guard who provided my friend with ice after he sprained his wrist. Thank you.
We had a wonderful time over 7 days and made lots of great memories that last a lifetime.

We arrived as a family of four and check in was nice and easy as we booked through booking.com which allows you to check in online the night before. When we arrived we were given our wristbands and inside the wristbands was the electronic element for the room key which was helpful.

The room itself was small but had recently been refurbished and was so clean and tidy. No complaints in regard to the room at all. The lifts were nice and fast so not a lot of waiting either.

The food in my opinion was dreadful. Bad quality and not very nice at all. It was sloppy and had no flavour and whilst I appreciate this was a 3 star hotel, it isn’t difficult to cook some of the things they offered. We paid for full board but we ate out every single night and lunch time. Also to buy drinks at the bar, you either need to pay card or load up your wristband at reception with money - they are a cashless place.

Entertainment was okay. Only problem it was so loud it was ridiculous. We were on our balcony and struggled to get our children to sleep. There was no requirement for it to be that loud. Mini disco was the same every single night, not difficult to change the set list.

Has great swimming pools and play park but the pools were freezing! However there is an indoor swimming pool for €4.

I wouldn’t visit again but it was okay for the price we had paid.

Hotel is a god send if your on as budget, normally we’re not but because we were with family members who were we took the hit.

Plus signs is it’s great for kids. slides, kids club, mini disco (pretty much same in all of Spain so this was boring for our kids as they seen it all before) multi pools etc so they were happy. Rooms are cleaned everyday to a good standard (I work in a hotel so know what it’s like) but I would say that’s it.
Drinks great but limited on choice.

Cons…rooms are very dated if they were refurbished they would be great. We had a hole in our wall by the door. Tiles missing on the bath and rusting.
Food is very average and full of oil, we had to stop eating as was making us feel unwell. Very repetitive. Juices in the morning very weak. The concentrate ratio is very off! Coke was very hit n miss, some days great others it tasted awful!
Towels constantly reserved on beds so very hard to find one if you come down after 9am despite signs saying not to reserve. Don’t allow inflatables in the pools (understand why but is abit of kill joy for the kids)

I did leave some bits in our room which I did email about and luckily they had them but they do just tell you, you have to find your own way of getting them back to you. No help with who to use etc but luckily had someone who was staying there so offered to bring home for me.

Hello, The permitted height to use the slides is 1.25 meters. As for the queues, their duration depends on the time of day and the number of guests present in the hotel, However, typically, the queues for the slides are usually normal. Kind regards. Management Hotel Jaime I Salou
