Best San Diego Hotel garners praise for its prime location, easily accessible beaches, dining, and vibrant nightlife. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with many guests highlighting the hotel's immaculate rooms. The atmosphere buzzes with diverse entertainment, though it's worth noting that some guests have reported late-night noise. While the modern amenities and friendly bar staff receive positive remarks, opinions on service and value are mixed, with instances of rudeness and concerns over food quality tempering the overall positive reception.

If you go on holiday expecting 4 star by UK standards then you will be very disappointed. I will provide a thorough review so that you may choose to come here or not.
Value
I booked a 4 night quick break for my partners birthday; the flight times were excellent making it feel like a longer break if we take off all the Ryan Air hidden extras I would say £500 for a 4 night all inc break with flights is an exceptional deal.
Rooms
These were spacious enough for what you needed with free air con and free safety deposit boxes, showers were powerful with hot water at all times, we had a pool view not ours but the hotel next door but that was ok.
Food
There was plenty of choice at every meal time like all inclusives very samey at every meal time but lovely salads; we ate out a couple of days something we were always going to do; estrella and sangria on draft and some lovey slush puppies.
Facilities
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool at all times, the animation team worked very hard with the families with children and I imagine gave the parents a much needed break.
Rooms and communal areas were cleaned to a very high standard and as always the domestics often go unnoticed behind the scenes for what they do.
Entertainment varied but was on most evenings when we usually went out.
Nice little bar across the road Victoria if you like bingo and quizzes and Karoke, my partner fancies himself as a bit of a rock star and had a lot of fun with a Spanish fan base telling him he was awesome.
Resort
Salou as I recall was once on a par with Ibiza in the 80’s and is not much calmer however full of people trying to entice you into their bars and restaurants; wanting to sell you fake scents and even a variety of drugs.
Overall a pleasant short break; although not likely to return to Salou as it’s not our cup of tea.

First of all the hotel is very clean rooms are good if a little small for 2 double beds there is a fridge but you will need to hire a kettle or bring your own, the aircon is first rate wifi is free and good in all areas. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with the exception of one bartender. The food was a bit of a let down lots of choice but too cold, there are microwaves available so not the end of the world. Towels are free just pay a returnable deposit and change as often as you like Pools are small if the hotel was full it could get very busy. The activities were a bit strange aqua gym at 4.30 ? Entertainment was standard bingo/quiz etc. 1 night there was a "professional duo" who obviously have a strong local following as loads of keen "dancers" arrived early, monopolising tables this was the only night there was waiter service and we were told this was the regular Friday night event. All inclusive bar ends 11.30 and you have to move inside if you want to continue socialising. The biggest minus for us was not the hotel it was its location, in a bit of a hollow surrounded by other buildings. There is a small beach nearby but if you struggle with walking uphill give it a miss.

Just returned from San Diego hotel and could not fault it.
From moment we arrived the staff was lovely, the receptionists was very helpful when needed.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are cleaned daily, tows are changed when you ask (card that states to put towels in shower when wishes for exchange) and the pool area and outdoor is cleaned every morning by a team of staff!
The room had two small double beds in, which didn't leave much room for anything else but with being on holiday we literally slept in there, the bathroom was a decent size and has double wardrobe too, with fridge and safe! You then have a balcony with chairs and table (although fan from aircon does blow on balcony, advise to turn aircon off if wishes to sit on balcony) aircon for room was fab, stayed on all day when you was out!
We was half board, the food was decent, breakfast had hot and cold choices and had few different options each day and included hot and cold drinks! And dinner had a different theme each night, which they decorated the room for and staff wore different uniform, nice touch! Waiter service on dinner and drinks prices was cheap! :)
The hotel is a 5 min walk from nearest beach (which was more secluded then the main one) and the main strip is a 10 min walk (although be aware uphill on way back)
Salou itself was fab, had so much to do and some beautiful scenery! Thoroughly enjoyed! The train was fab at 6 euros and takes you on a tour on salou and we also did an excursion to Barcelona via bus plana and was only 22euros each! (Staff was fab, spoke multiple languages which really helped).

Would definitely return to this hotel I future :)

Stayed here for a week with my friend at the end of May/ start of June. I think it is most definitely more a 3 star hotel, there are too many cons for it to be a 4 star.

Pros:
Air con was great
Always a sunbed available - never a rush for them in the morning like in other hotels
Self serve drinks is good
Entertainment team are amazing! The man who does aqua gym is brilliant
Location
Bar staff friendly

Cons:
no Wifi in the rooms (didn't reach)
Did not get our beds changed or made once the whole week, never brushed or mopped the floor in the room - only ever changed the towels in the bathroom
Food is AWFUL! We could not eat anything from the 'restaurant' so ended up eating out every day even though we where all inclusive!
Long queues at lunch time, like feeding time at the zoo
Beds are so uncomfy and has a long stupid pillow across a double bed? don't understand
Even though there are always sunbeds available, they're really narrow and small
Reception staff are really rude and unhelpful, come across very obnoxious

I don’t often leave a review however I feel awareness is needed to prevent any further incidents, especially given the experience we had with the baby pool.

We arrived home yesterday having spent 9 nights at best San Diego. On the second day we were there my 11 year old was swimming under water in the baby pool, he was playing with his one year old and 6 year old brothers when he was sucked into the vent at the bottom, luckily he was strong enough to pull himself up, although admittedly he said it was a struggle and he did panic. It was reported and the lifeguard was fantastic immediately attempting to close the pool rendering it unsafe for use however within minutes another staff member came over and explained the filter has a mechanism where it would release straight away and it was fine. He walked away shrugging it off but the lifeguard was still unhappy, she then received a text from him stating a button had been left on and to reopen the pool. God forbid it was a younger child. The filter mechanism was obviously too strong for whatever reason and the picture below shows the mark which he still has now.

Other points….
Rooms were very small, there was 5 of us in a twin room and we had to store our suitcases on the balcony. We asked if they had any bigger rooms to be told no.
Cleaners came daily and made beds, changed towels but surfaces and floors were left which made it frustrating especially if we’d had a beach day and under the beds were very dusty.
The food was poor, we found something edible on 2/9 nights, breakfast was awful we didn’t bother going down and ate out instead.
The entertainers worked really hard, they kept the kids busy and were really friendly, some of the afternoon pool games did get a little too competitive so watch out if younger kids want to join in. The mini disco was canny and they often did face painting and balloon making for the little ones.
We really liked the fact the lifeguard and pool staff would move peoples towels from beds if they’d been left unattended for so long.

Just arrived back home after a weeks holiday with my mum and Daughter all Adults, we arrived at 11.30 and didn't get into our rooms until after 2pm. Room was adequate for its needs, street facing , free safe and fridge a little clothes storage no drawers in our room kettle could be hired for 10 euros for a week, tv had 1 English Channel which was BBC News and Travel. Cleaners came in every day and had fresh towels. 2 lifts could be very slow and congested at times. Reception area was clean and large which lead to pool area bar and snack bar, there was always plenty of beds and a handful of brolly this area wasn't opened until 9.30 onwards and we never experienced and charging or fighting for the beds, the Bar area is where you get the snacks from there wasn't enough staff behind the Bar only 2 during the day and they also had to cook snacks which were chips and toasties I never seen any Burgers or Hotdogs, there is also Ice-cream here for A/I guests, there was Larger, larger and lime, Sangria, water and soft Drinks on self service the rest was from behind the bar, there were Double sun lounges around the pools which you had to pay 10 Euros a day for, the pool was small but not deep or daily and evening activities were all done in Spanish No English so didnt understand what they were saying or what they were playing, i seen cleaners and maintence men working around the pool daily. Restaurant was downstairs big enough didn't cater for the English, Breakfast consisted of toast, beans , pancakes and pastrys everything else was catered for others, they had a themed menu for every night of the week for countries No English, no vegetables in 7 days I only had peas, Burgers were raw no English meat. Puddings were very basic same every night again drinks on draft same as upstairs they don't explain the A/I options when you arrive as there are drink menus on the tables to which you are charged for unless you are A/I but only certain bottles aloud, staff miserable in dinning area , reception lovely staff Bar staff ok when they got to know you best part of this Hotel is the Location there's plenty of food outlets outside reasonable priced. I would return to this Hotel but it would definitely be on a Salf catering Board.

Enjoyed a week stay here at the beginning of August with wife and 4 grown up children, one of whom is a wheelchair user.
Firstly for a wheelchair user the hotel is fully accessible. There are 2 lifts which can be used to reach the upper floors and restaurant which is below ground level. We requested a wheelchair accessible room and the room he was allocated was large with an accessible walk in shower. ( used a patio chair to sit in the shower. Perhaps a chair could be provided specifically).
Access in to the hotel was by ramp or steps and the reception bar, indoor seated area and pool are all on one level, again easily accessible.
The hotel itself us well located. It is about 200yds from the main road up a slight incline, which we didnt have too much trouble with.
The hotel is about a 3 minute downhill walk from the main shopping strip which leads after about 5 mins to bars around the sea front.
If you walk uphill from the hotel for 100yards you come to another road which overlooks the beach. The beach can be accessed via a steep access road to the left, and there is a lovely seafront walkway around the headland to the main bar area.
The hotel itself is modern and well maintained. The rooms are great for 2 persons. Each room has 2 double beds and if 4 adults were sharing would be a little crowded with not that much wardrobe space.
The rooms and bathrooms are well maintained with small balconies either overlooking the surrounding road or pool area.
The pool area is small but seems to cater well for the guests. There is no reserving of sun loungers with staff removing towels. This was great as there was no mad rush, with people able to get a lounger most of the day.
The animation team were excellent, working hard with games around the pool in the day, and providing some entertainment in the evening. During our stay they had to fill in a couple of times due to acts not turning up, but made sure they kept everyone entertained.
The all inclusive was good, estrella on tap as well as sangria and soft drinks. Local spirits and cocktails were available on request from the bar until 11:30 at night when the entertainment finished.
The food was good. Fresh meat and food made and cut in front of you. Plenty of choice.
The deserts were a bit repetitive, but that is just being picky.
Plenty to do and see in Salou which we found busy but not too over the top, intact just right for the type of holiday we like.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely use this hotel again if staying on Salou.

From the moment we arrived, the receptionist with the short red hair had excellent customer service skills and made us feel so welcome. We had two rooms 111 and 115 both overlooking the pool as I had requested. We paid a €15 euro deposit for pool towels which we changed each day and upgraded to all inclusive on arrival. Hotel spotless, not massive but a great size and an excellent location. 99% of staff very friendly. We told the manager at dinner how wonderful the staff were including the waitress Amy who was so attentive and even saw us outside of the hotel and said hello. My husband loved the waterpolo in the pool. The entertainment team were great and not too intrusive. What I loved most was we went out of a morning and returned after 1pm and easily got a sun bed. No putting towels down to reserve! It was a really relaxing experience. If I could offer any constructive criticism it would be to air condition the gym as it was unusable due to temperatures being so high. I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel and highly recommend.

Our expectations were not overly high going off the price and other reviews, but we were proved incredibly wrong! Hotel was clean, comfortable and welcoming and the staff were all very friendly. The only issue we had while staying here was the food, breakfast is alright, nothing special but hit the spot till lunch time. But dinner was not great but when it’s a large buffet for €11 (if you don’t go half board or all inclusive) then you realistically get what you paid for. The hotel is in an ideal location which seems to be a quiet part of the town, and the beach and main area with all the shops and restaurants only a 5/10 minute walk. Overall the hotel was incredible, reasonably priced and I would 100% recommended to anyone thinking of booking with them.

I’ve just returned from a 10day holiday at sunny salou and so pleased we chose this hotel to stay at! The hotel is clean and tidy which is what you want in a hotel. Rooms aren’t the biggest when 3 adults/1x child are sharing but they are still manageable! We were at the poolside view which was lovely. Food there is a variety just not alot for vegetarians unless it pasta or salad which my sister struggled with but in general a good variety! Meal times were ideal really. Poolside including the bar staff brilliant always clean and tidy, always plenty loungers to grab!
Literally a 5min walk to the nearest beach alcove which is small but ideal, 10min walk into salou main strip with the beach ideal walking distance! Around the corner from a chemist/doctors and shops too! All round an amazing holiday and would return I didn’t want to leave to come back home!
Also we were all inclusive but certain things liked name brands were to pay extra along with cocktails but it was only €2.50 a cocktail which is absolutely nothing and worth the money! Especially the mojito!
