The Holiday Inn Houston Downtown, an IHG Hotel, is celebrated for its exceptional cleanliness, with guests often commending the charming towel art and meticulous room upkeep. The central location earns high marks for its proximity to urban conveniences, including dining and public transport. While the rooms' cleanliness is consistently praised, some guests find them to be on the smaller side with occasional dated furnishings.
The hotel's service stands out, with a friendly staff and helpful shuttle service. However, opinions are mixed regarding the breakfast quality and Wi-Fi speed, and guests should be mindful of parking fees when considering the hotel's overall value.

The Holiday Inn Shuttle is fantastic! I was in town for a conference and the shuttle was a life/money saver. All the drivers; Lester, Ceasar and Torey were absolutely amazing. They were prompt, pleasant, attentive, and caring....and not to mention good drivers. 😊
A passenger got on and had pain in his leg. Torey offered advice on how to help ease the pain and offered to take him to CVS for medicine. Ceasar got out and opened doors after each pick up and drop off. Lester informed me of various places around the town to try.
The shuttle amenity is genius. I had great experiences with each driver and highly recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Downtown Houston for your next visit. 😊

We were in Houston for the Astros/Yankees game. I purchased my husband a pregame tour of Minute Maid Park. It began at 3 P.M. which was the same time as check-in. This hotel allowed an early check-in at no extra cost which gave us time to drop off luggage and freshen up. The valet attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. We parked the truck and walked to the ball park that afternoon. Afterwards, we caught a Lyft back. It was around 11 P.M. We were approached by two individuals asking us for money before we could get into the hotel. There were many people milling about outside. The hotel is locked at night. You must use your room key to get inside. We didn't know this so it took a moment to find the key. Our room was clean and spacious enough. The bathroom was small but clean. They did not offer bottled water or snacks as I'm accustomed at Hilton Honors. There was also no breakfast whatsoever, and the restaurant was closed due to Covid. I wish we had known this before returning to the hotel. I would likely stay here again, but I would check with one of the hotels closer to the ball park first. We typically stay at Embassy Suites, Hampton, or Hilton. Their rooms were running $400 per night. This hotel was $129 for military rate. Overall, it was a good value.

Stayed here for 3 days this past weekend and it was so convenient. The Red Line is a two block walk away for visiting the Museum District. It's very close to Downtown, and lots of buses going through Montrose go through here. Made getting around so easy.
The hotel has high security and you have to swipe your card to get in.
The price was great compared to other hotels I was considering (including some in the TMC and Galleria area that cost $100 more total).
And the staff were very nice and friendly, and rooms were clean and comfy.
Can't think of any negatives, so I'll leave it at that!

I am glad that I chose Holiday Inn downtown for our Houston stay. Initially, I was leaning towards a hotel in the Uptown area that provides free on-site parking and complimentary breakfast. However, all the wonderful reviews by individuals that have recently stayed there persuaded me to go with Holiday Inn even though it is far more expensive in comparison to “that hotel”, especially with the $25 parking fee tagged on in addition to the higher room rate.
Burger Theory was closed during our stay, however, the hotel made good use of the space by serving us daily complimentary buffet breakfast as well as on Thursday night, finger food was being served @ the bar area.
Overall, good courteous customer services were provided by the front desk staff, parking attendant as well as room attendants. Our room attendant, Dinorat, not only kept our room tidy, well stocked with water bottles, clean towels and toilet paper; she also made us cute towel animals. Thank you, Dinorat for your service!

My husband and I stayed here for the Chevron Marathon. The staff were friendly and the price was good compared to all the other hotels because of the event in town. We ate at the bar and the bartender Tish was awesome. She was funny and personable. The burgers were great and I loved they had a pasta feature for my husband to chose from especially since he was participating in the marathon. Thank all of you!

This was a very comfortable and clean place to stay! All the staff are very friendly and helpful (Usla) at the front desk was great too! Housekeeping does an excellent job of keeping our room really clean and left a little animal made of a towel and washcloth on our freshly made bed along with lotion (Lucy & Alejandra), it was just the cutiest and nicest thing I've every had at a hotel! ❤ The shuttle driver was excellent too (David)! A great place to stay and I would stay here again!

Great location near Red Rail Train. The cleanliness of rooms is above par. Unlike many hotel rooms today, beds are made, room straightened, and towels and trash removed daily. Kudos to Diana and Anabel, the housekeepers. Limited restaurants, but MademoiselleLouise (pastries and sandwiches) and Build you Pie Pizza were walkable and both good. Room view was gorgeous.

When we stayed there a couple of months ago, it was ONLY open for breakfast.
No free breakfast. Burger theory restaurant in lobby has breakfast but you have to pay.
Valet only. Like 27.00 a day
I do not think they have a pool.
