Stayed here for two and a half weeks for business and was very happy overall but have to send a special shoutout to the staff who were just excellent. Always a friendly welcome or farewell, a sincere effort to help out at all times, or a pleasant conversation for a few minutes. Mary, Andrew, Audrey and Erica made our time there so pleasant, they were the definition of hospitality.
Room was also great, clean and bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job. The free breakfast was okay, got a little old after two and a half weeks but that's not their fault. Gym leaves a little to be desired. There's a pool and a jacuzzi but I didn't try them out. We also felt very safe in the neighbourhood and that was reinforced by the security guard they had in the parking lot and their policy of checking license plates for vehicles parking in the lot after 11pm. We saw many families staying here.
Would happily recommend for travellers looking for a reasonably-priced hotel near downtown Houston.

During the recent Houston power outage we were happy to find a place that still had power. We stayed 3 nights. Each morning the staff would let us decide if we wanted to extend our stay another night while we waited for our power at home to come back on. We had a king suite with plenty of room to spread out. The WiFi worked great. A hot grab and go breakfast was included. Everyone wore masks so I didn’t feel too worried about Covid-19. The staff offered a frozen pizza for purchase when we checked in which they cooked in their oven and delivered to our room. When the city water pressure was gone, staff would bring around buckets of pool water to each room and flush our toilets. The staff made the best of a bad situation. The location was easy to get to and in a quiet area, not too close to a loud freeway.

We were in Houston for our son’s robotics competition. From the time we checked in every staff member was very friendly and eager to help. Mary at the front desk was always greeting everyone with a smile and offering cold water as we walked in. Erica was super sweet and came and Introduced herself during breakfast and asked how our stay was going. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and did a great job servicing the room as well as leaving behind a goody bag of snacks and extra water. The breakfast was like a full service restaurant with something for every one. It was prepared fresh, great healthy choices from breakfast sandwiches to waffles, hash browns, fruits, cereals and breads. Will definitely be returning again.

Location is right outside the city, very close to local bars/clubs, which led to a very loud, noisy wake up calls at 2am. You can very clearly hear your neighbors. Parking was right outside your window so we heard every car rev their engine. Breakfast area was small so it made it kind of difficult to avoid sitting near the very same people. The front desk (around 4pm) didn’t seem to happy or welcoming.. the hotel itself is in great shape. The rooms were great & clean, the cleaning lady was so nice & sweet.. location is the main reason for the issues. Also I am not from Houston so it would have been nice to be told of the non working ice machine, as well as the water issues before hand.

I am a BW diamond member but normally I don’t do reviews of Best Westerns but this one was exceptional!
Location is excellent/ within walking distance of downtown. Free parking is included. In the evening a security guard watches the parking lot and the front door to the hotel is opened by either your key or the receptionist. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming from the security guard, reception, housekeeping and breakfast server.
In the lobby they have fresh cookies and both a local Houston paper and USA Today. They have both an attractive swimming pool and a hot tub. The lobby is clean and spacious. While it’s the typical BW breakfast they make an extra effort by warming the tortillas to order and they had Greek Yogurt. In the evenings they put out snacks and have beverages for purchase including beer and wine.
The room was beautiful/ spacious, clean and well lit. They include extras such as fresh bottled water daily and a pack of Milano cookies. In the bathroom they even provided cookies. If you go to Houston I highly recommend this Best Western! All the extra touches and friendly, welcoming staff made this hotel special!

We were headed to the World Series and managed to get a booking at this hotel. It is located at an acceptable distance to Minute Maid Park allowing us to arrange for transportation instead of driving. The property is lovely and our room smelled really nice. We found all the amenities to be clean and in working order. Fortunately, the people staying on our floor were not too loud. However, if The pool for this property is very nice as well. Though we didn't get to use the pool this time, if we stay there again we would. The staff here is outstanding, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The bed was comfortable and the King room was a great size. The price was a little higher than we normally pay for a Best Western Premier property. However, we felt it was a great value for the location and day we were staying. We would definitely stay here again when visiting downtown Houston.

Lovely quiet location on the doorstep of downtown Houston. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed comfy. However, the couch and arm chair was made of a plastic like material that felt cheap. There was a window AC unit that thankfully I didn’t have to use thanks to the temperature dropping the nights I was there. There’s an inch gap under the door where light and noises travel from the hallway that woke me up when loud guests would walk by. I loved the location, only a 10-minute walk to Buffalo Bayou and Eleanor Tinsley Park and a 5-10 minute drive to restaurants and bars.

Mary at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The room was big and the a/c was cold (just how we like it!). The location is perfect for a day exploring downtown. It was an easy 12 minute walk to the Hobby Center. The hot breakfast had lots of options and there was beer and wine available for purchase in the evening (at very reasonable prices). Parking is free which is a huge bonus for a downtown hotel. We didn't experience any issues with street noise and overall it was a quiet stay. The internet was fast and reliable. Beds were comfortable. The price was excellent considering the location and free parking. We would definitely stay here again.

After spending months weighing up different hotels in and around downtown Houston google recommended the Best Western downtown.
I was initially hesitant as it wasn't near a light rail stop which I would normally look for as we had tickets to a late night Astros game.
I shouldn't have worried.
The staff here are phenomenal. Friendly approachable and willing to help at all times, house keeping attended the room everyday to make beds and clean which is something hotels at twice the price point aren't doing.
It's a 20 minute walk from downtown along the bayou and just off the freeway. There are 2 bars on the block but we didn't hear any noise.
The hotel employs a night security guard for the car park which is an additional bonus but really the staff make this place.

The walk to GRB Convention Center is a little less than 1.5 miles away and walk-able. In the past, large groups, have coordinated using car services to get everyone around town depending on your planned schedule. We also recommend taxi to and from the hotel runs between $6-8 or a ride-sharing app.

We are located in downtown Houston and are less than a mile away from the Downtown Aquarium. Houston is a very large and spread out city with many attractions nearby like our fine museums, zoo or music venues downtown depending on your interests.
Kemah Boardwalk is about 33 miles away and Galveston Pier is roughly 52 miles from downtown. Car rentals are typically the best way for guests that want to travel to various locations to explore or some guests use car service apps on their phones.
IAH airport is 16 miles from us (30-45 minuntes) and Hobby is 12 miles (25-40 minutes).
