Had a wonderful visit to the Sinclair Hotel, recently opened in downtown Fort Worth. Previously the headquarters of Sinclair oil, it's within walking distance of great restaurants and entertainment. The staff was quite friendly and helpful and management sent us a cake for our anniversary. We had an upgraded room and it was a "smart" room where everything (including the toilet) was controlled by keypads. I would prefer NOT to have to put on my glasses just to decipher icons in order to turn on the lights, but that's just a personal opinion. The controls for the toilet/bidet didn't work, but fortunately the toilet had a manual flush lever. I would recommend the hotel highly.

Great location, beautiful lobby and a glass of champagne as you check in. Cool gadgets in the room. However, our room was tiny and really hot, despite having air con on. The bathroom is frosted glass so you are visible when showering. Also huge gaps in the bathroom door so you can be heard using the facilities...

Beautiful hotel with all the high tech amenities you could ask for in a room. Unfortunately there are no parking options around the hotel, so we opted to use the valet for our stay. The valet ended up losing the keys to our rental car which completely ruined our plans for the trip. I completely understand mistakes like this happen, but the hotel/valet did nothing to try to make up for their mistake. We were not offered a taxi/car so we could make our meetings and dinner reservation and we were also still charged for the valet service. Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience and exemplifies poor customer service.

From the time I arrived I was treated very well. The valet service was there as soon as I pulled up, and the front desk staff was over the top friendly and professional. This hotel is very historic, and it has kept it’s history, while being very high tech. The window shades are opened and closed with the touch screen control panel near the door. There are lighting settings for the morning, bedtime, social, and romantic. The bathroom mirror is set up like a computer screen, with news, weather and music, and has great speakers on both sides of the sink. The shower has 5 or more colors, and it is also controlled with a touch screen. Shower has overhead, wall, and handheld wand. The bathroom is also beautiful with marble slabs and they they go from floor to ceiling. You really have to experience this hotel to fully appreciate all it has to offer. Management has obviously made service a top priority, with the staff being extra friendly and helpful. One block from Sundance Square with numerous restaurants in the area. This is a top notch property, and I would give it 5+ stars.

We stayed at The Sinclair over Thanksgiving just a few weeks after it opened. The hotel wasn't very busy which was a treat and we were treated like royalty by the staff - warmly welcomed every time we came back to the hotel, given a small welcoming gift and even fresh donuts were left out in the lobby one morning. Our room, while on the smallish side, was very comfortable and quiet (we were located near the elevator which was an initial concern that didn't prove to be an issue). The bathroom was very modern with a built in monitor in the mirror. The hotel went all out with technology in the rooms with touch screens to do everything from open the curtains, control the lights and even turn on the shower. I did find them a little annoying at times as it involved more work to turn a light on than a simple switch. The hotel is just a block away from Sundance Square and convenient to almost everything in downtown Fort Worth.

Wasted a suite upgrade on this hotel. Was told I received an upgrade but if that dark dingy room was an upgrade I would hate to see the other room. The rooms have electronic controls for lights, curtains, water, tv etc…That seemed kinda cool at first until you realize it was not working properly. The room had two TVs, the one in the sitting area didn’t work so we called for assistance so we could watch football game and have a drink. When the guy first came he said that we had 2 TVs and could watch the one in the area with the bed!
I told him that we would prefer to watch the one in the sitting area and not sit on the bed. He said ok and he would be back in a few minutes. He returned in about a half hour with an HDMI cable, that was all that was wrong, apparently someone had borrowed the HDMI cable and it appeared he new because he never even looked at TV originally.
After he installed HDMI cable I asked him what the monitor was in the bathroom mirror and what it was supposed to do. He told me that it was broken and that he would tell someone to look at it the next day. That didn’t really bother me, I was just curious what it was for.
What does matter to me is the total lack of quality control. I am a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member which means I have spent over 80 days this year in Marriot brand hotels. The only hotel I have stayed in that was more disappointing than this one was in a third world country with limited resources and they at least tried to make our stay comfortable.
Management definitely needs to create a system in which rooms are checked prior to placing guest in them and encourage employees to treat customers with respect.

Wow! As the father of the bride for my first-born daughter & her fiancé we researched long & hard for a hotel that could handle our out of town guests to give them an authentic Texas experience. After evaluating different options we chose the Historic Sinclair Building Fort Worth from Marriott Autograph collection. Sinclair is a renovated office building that Sinclair Oil used to operate from and is just steps away from Sundance Square. Marriott has touches throughout the building that tributes its storied history. Sinclair has combined the authenticity of the past with cutting edge technology. The bathroom mirror had apps inside the mirror for the weather, news, & music etc. The bathroom also had lighting that could change colors and moods. The curtains could be closed with the touch of a button so you can fall in asleep in the absolutely amazingly comfortable bed. While all that was more than wonderful the real magic happened with the service- starting with sales leader Courtney Towson & GM Tammy Vallejo. They invited us to lunch to learn about our event and provided top notch solutions from putting gift bags in guest’s room, private check in line, and a complete staff of can-do attitudes. Courtney even came in on Saturday to check in on us. She opened up roof top bar for bride/groom first looks. After the wedding we came back to a bottle of wine and handwritten note of congratulations from Courtney. Magical day, Magical Property, Magical Location, Magical Service!!!

I'm shocked that Marriott would allow one of their Autograph hotels to operate like this. While the historic look of the hotel is really pretty several rooms are not working correctly: Touch screens are out, toilets are flushing all day, phones are not working, the walls are THIN and lighting/wiring on their tech panels were not working properly in several rooms. One required a midnight call to the front desk which took another 45 minutes to get help because nobody answered the front phone! The staff at registration was clueless, even with a late check-in we had multiple guests who couldn't get in their rooms past 5 pm! WHO in this industry has a 4 pm check-in? It's Ridiculous to expect room service to take THAT long for such small rooms! BUT they DO actually have rooms available for check-in at say 3 pm, FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE!?! Shame on you. As a Bonvoy Member, I expect better. I am honestly disappointed and I had hoped to use this venue a few more times for an event but after this experience, there's no way I could even recommend this hotel for our caliber of clientele. Use the AC Hotel or even the Courtyard across the street, they'll treat you much better and their rooms actually work.

I arrived on Monday, October 3rd with 4 of my colleagues, two of whom were lifetime Titanium Bonvoy Members. Upon arrival at 1:30pm, we were told that because it was before 4pm, we were subject to a $50 Early check-in fee. We were appalled.

Next, as I was checking in, the front desk clerk asked me to swipe my card on the terminal which had a sign noting that the card reader was not working taped to it. The clerk asked me to try anyway. When I did, it didn’t work. Shocker. She then called over the Front Desk Supervisor, Jaime, who proceeded to exclaim loudly, "Oh his card was declined!" That was completely false as the card reader was broken.

Not wanting to get into an argument, they tried the card on the other terminal and it worked. I remained quiet, but did ask for Jaime's business card.

I dropped my bags into the room and met my colleagues. Afterwards, and before dinner, I went to my room to change and noticed that the shower was covered in long hair and obviously had not been cleaned properly. I wiped the shower clean as I really didn’t want to change rooms. But did speak with Jaime's boss before going to dinner. She was very friendly and apologetic about the experience. But honestly I decided I was going to switch to the AC across the street the next morning.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the next morning, when going to retrieve the car from valet, we got to the curb to find about 12 people waiting for their cars. Some had been waiting for over 40 min. After assessing the situation, I suggested that when the valet returned, we ask to follow him to the garage to retrieve the car ourselves. When the other guests found out what we were doing, the rest of the guest (about 12 in all) followed suit.

I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. When I checked into the AC the next afternoon, I felt like I was in a Ritz Carlton compared to the Sinclair. If Marriott continues to go "off-brand" by growing the Autograph portfolio, there has to been some oversight as to the quality of these properties.

Upscale Hotel? with the WORST service! All started with being told the roof top bar would be open Friday for our large wedding party, it wasn't. Trying to check into our rooms, Manager Jime was the rudest ever. We book using a valid Marriott discount code that was confirmed with Hotel and Corporate twice before arrival. Jime refused to honor that price and forced us into paying a higher rate than the wedding block. He refused to call corporate to verify and make the situation right! Bride and Groom paid $5 p/rm to pass out party bags for the guests, staff didn't do it. Saturday after the wedding (11pm) we expected the hotel bar to be open (like most places) It wasn't. Missed out on more revenue there, but since they over charge guests at check in, they don't need their bars to stay open later.
