The Joule hotel garners applause for its stylish atmosphere and spotless cleanliness, with guests consistently admiring the comfortable and well-designed spaces. While opinions on value are mixed, with some concerns over parking fees, the happy hour deals and room quality receive praise. The staff's friendliness and professionalism contribute to an exceptional level of service.

Detailed Reviews
I recently stayed at The Joule for work and had a corner room on the 14th floor. First, the positive . . . as everyone reports, the staff were extremely nice, respectful and you got the impression that they were truly interested in your stay. The room was nice overall, the king bed was very comfortable and supporting. Everything was clean, no obvious wear/stains. There was a nice smart pad at bedside and the widescreen TV was a nice touch. By the sink was a lighted makeup mirror and the sink was a stainless raised bowl supported by a glass countertop. Overall, the room reminded me of an upgraded New York City studio. In general, the lobby was nice and the card key access elevators made a nice impression.
As my title alludes to, the difference between good and great are the little things. Time for the cons . . . the first may be ok for some, but the layout screamed out "we made it work" to me. Entering the room, there was a small hallway leading to a desk in the corner, almost like it was put there just to take up the space. Personally, I don't like sitting with my back to the door. Following the hallway to the left, you came to a bifurcated bathroom area, enclosed commode, closet pole and room safe to your left and stall shower/sink/makeup mirror to your right. No real shelfing for towels, so they are just placed around out in the open. In that hallway is the room thermostat, sort of explaining why temperature was difficult to maintain in the main area with the bed and why it was set to 67 when I arrived. The commode was in a nice little enclosed area but having the toilet tissue holders behind my left shoulder was really annoying. As to the stall shower, a nice setup of waterfall head and a handheld, but the pumps for body wash/shampoo/conditioner dispensed a minute amount per pump, requiring multiple pumps (think like 10) for you to get enough product. Plus, there was no washer in the handle of the handheld, so it leaked incessantly. Add to it that the glass door stayed about 3/4 inch open and would not close, it became the tiny annoyance trifecta. Going into the main area, they finally hit the sweet spot as to accomodations and functionality, my only peeve being that all outlets near the bed are taken up by the alarm clock and smart pad, making you charge your cell and laptop across the room. All of these little "nits" added up to keep this in the very good but not great category. Would I stay again? Probably, but not assured.

We came in to see our son in Dallas and wanted to experience a different hotel. We are so glad we picked the Joule! From the time we were dropped off at the hotel to our check-out; EVERYONE was super nice and professional! Your staff was some of the best we’ve encountered in a long time. We splurged for a deluxe suite and it was worth it. Huge bedroom, living area, and bathroom. The bathroom had a huge soaking tub big enough for two and a great separate rain shower. The separate living area was large enough to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. We ate at CBD after not eating all day after a flight, and the same great service we received in the hotel was experienced in the restaurant. We love art and they have some great art in the hotel and you can walk across the street to experience the “eye’. This hotel’s downtown location is great because you are not far from what the downtown city offers. We wanted to experience the spa, but didn’t have time. Our room was very clean and that’s coming from a very picky couple. We wished we could have used that amazing pool, but I think it was closed for the season. You can’t go wrong staying at this amazing hotel with such a rockstar staff. Great vibes, great art, great location, great historical bldg., and an amazing staff. We will be back....

I love the Joule, and have stayed here in excess of ten times. The rooms are on the smallish side, but are very comfortable and have a nice modern feel. The speakeasy bar in the basement is outstanding, the staff is super nice, and the spa is great. I'm a huge fan of a eucalyptus steam room and sauna, and typically would spend a good bit of time using the spa facilities while my wife is out shopping or going to galleries. Just arrived for another weekend visit, and found out that the day pass is no longer available and spa is completely booked all weekend for services. Seems strange to cut off the day pass, since in the many hours that I've spent in the men's side over the last several years, I've shared the steam room or sauna with another person for less than 15 minutes in total. I've basically always had the place to myself. The staff told me that it was more of a problem in the women's side. I'm bummed. I wish they would have just increased the cost of the day pass to cut down on the traffic vs. eliminating it altogether. To be honest, there are other great hotels within a couple minutes walking distance of the Joule that have larger, nicer rooms for less than half the price. My main reason for staying here was that the spa day pass was only available to hotel guests. It was worth it to pay more for the room to have that benefit. Unless it changes, it'll probably be my last visit as a hotel guest. That being said, it's still a great hotel, with great amenities, and does not disappoint.

Thank you for leaving this detailed and honest review of The Joule. I am so glad your overall experience with the Joule staff, amenities, and outlets has been overall outstanding. I am proud that we've been able to be you and your wife's Downtown oasis on your trips, and that you've chosen to continue being our guest. I am sorry to hear that the new spa policies have possibly dissuaded your decision to return. I would love to discuss this issue more with you if you would be open to it, in hopes of winning back your patronage. If you'd please email me at smay@thejouledallas.com, I'd love to set up a time to discuss your experience with the Spa Manager. Hope to hear from you soon, Sarah May Guest Relations

Enjoyed my mother/daughter time at the Joule this past weekend with one exception. Thus this is why I can only give 4 stars and not 5. Mainly, with a hotel this size and pool this small there should be a rule, like other resorts we've been to that you cannot put suntan lotion or a towel down on a chair and leave for 2 hours! We checked in to the Joule to have a pool day and nice dinner. Both of which did not happen. For the 3 hours me and my daughter where at pool there were 5 lounge chairs (NOT CABANAS) being saved with no one there to sit in them and so we had no place to lounge. We hung out in the pool or on a towel on the side of the pool for the 3 hours. Finally, one person showed up after 2 hours to claim one chair while the other 4 sat empty while a lady would not give them up for me and my daughter for 3 hours! Other nice hotels have a rule that if a chair is empty for an hour the staff pick up the towel and open it up for guests that are present! It's too small of a pool to allow people to hold chairs for hours while the people go eat or shop or whatever. Also, we had reservations at Sessetta the Italian restaurant for that evening but received a text that the pasta machine was down and had limited dishes so we cancelled and went elsewhere. That is not something the hotel could have foreseen so I didn't take a star off for this. After the pool experience, which is why I do staycations, we probably won't be returning.

Enjoyed a getaway weekend at The Joule in Dallas Jan-2020. Stayed in a Premier Double room on the corner, with two double beds, a seating area & big screen tv, an expansive desk for working, and a fabulous bath. If you like modern / contemporary design, you will adore the room as much as I did! My only complaint was the double beds. I am a tiny woman, but I felt the beds were just too small. Double queens would have been preferable. Opt for the king unless you absolutely have to have two.
The staff was professional & efficient, but not very warm. First floor restaurant is good, not exceptional. Bar in the basement is sexy, nice vibe & great lighting, but again the staff was just meh.
The real jewel here is the Spa. The Spa at the Joule hotel is fabulous! It will keep me coming back. Book your services, but arrive two hours prior to your appointment time. You can enjoy the heated & jetted pool with integrated aluminum lounges, the eucalyptus sauna, and much more. After your massage, go soak again. They also have a well appointed locker room with hair dryers, showers, cozy robes & slippers.

The entire staff was first rate. Best housekeeping ever. Front desk, valet, doormen and women were all helpful and friendly. I left one note asking for additional hand towels and for the rest of my stay housekeeping brought extra hand towels and this was on top of the already great job they were doing to keep the room clean and orderly. One night we inadvertently left some money in our car. The next morning when we picked up our car, there the money was on the center console. My mother used a wheelchair and walker during our stay and the valet employees were great helping me get these items in and out of the SUV.

The Joule is the perfect name for this boutique hotel. It is outstanding. It is also hard to find. Look for the valet parking cones next to the sign for the Americano Restaurant. The hotel has valet parking. The European style rooms, complete with frosted glass bathroom doors had everything needed for a good nights sleep, including an ipad! Turn down service was provided with high quality chocolates left on the pillow. The incredible artwork in the lobby was delicious frosting on an already rich cake. The fitness room had the latest equipment, including a top of the line Stairmaster. The only downside was that the rooftop infinity pool was closed for repairs. But it was too cold to swim anyway. There is an excellent coffee shop that opens at 6:30 right in the building, as well as two restaurants.

My husband and I visit The Joule 1-2 times a year and always enjoy it, but this time especially the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay. I realized when we checked in I had made a mistake in booking the room we wanted, and they switched me to my preferred room at no charge for the upgrade. Again, this was completely my own mistake! They continued to check in with us during the weekend, making sure we had a ride in the courtesy car and making sure our room cleaning was scheduled for when we would be out. (They are cleaning the room on request due to Covid). We ordered room service from CBD Provisions one night, and it was the best room service meal I have ever had. It was great - not just for room service - but by any standard. We really appreciated the extra touches, especially in a year when travel is so much more stressful.

We checked into the Joule on Monday, February 15th and extended our stay until this Saturday February 20th due to the horrific ice storm that hit Dallas. The staff here has been amazing! My husband and I are here with our 4.5 month old puppy and the King bed room is quite large. The furnishings and bath area are fantastic! Just to name a few who have gone above and beyond during our stay are Richard the manager of guest services, Ali, Matt, H, (apologies as I don’t remember all of the names), the entire front desk staff, Matt’s in room dining staff, the coffee shop folks, the valet, the list goes on! The amenities at the hotel are wonderful and the furnishings/artwork throughout are unique and eye catching. We thought the rates were very reasonable for such an amazing hotel and convenient location with everything walkable. We highly recommend The Joule which we consider a jewel in Dallas!

Wow, other hotels should take a page from this hospitality book. Amazing staff! From check in to the pool ladies, in room dining attendants, to Hervis driving us to get curbside grub to go in the hotel car. They really care you have a great experience. Loved how dog friendly they are too! Had a slight issue with noise level in low level room and immediately was called and transferred AND checked up on to make sure we were comfortable. Some five-star establishments we have visited wouldn’t have gone as far. What would put this place over the top would be to acknowledge special occasions. We were there to celebrate anniversary, so a card or something to that manner would have been nice. It’s the small things. But that is very minor detail in comparison to the great customer service you receive! Reserve your stay today!

Maybe because the lounge is separate and maybe because it has a view to the "eye". It's not on a club level.
Pool is open year round and heated. It's small, roof top.
No, included no extra charge. Enjoy.
If you go to their web site & look under Spa, the Vital, you will see the beautiful pool and cycle center. Rest assured everything about the Joule is beautifully done. I'm sure if you contact them directly they will be happy to give you more info.
I know they have one but I didn't get a chance to visit it. Sorry
