Dear Loretta, Misel, Keith, Sandra, Estelle, Eli (Nene!), Chef Alonzo & Marvin, We will never forget you. You pampered us like royalty, you greeted us so warmly and oh, my, did you feed us. Your kindness and courtesy and your careful attention to every detail made our visit feel like heaven. We cannot thank you enough. We have forgotten some of your names. I guess we will have to return (soon!) to see you again.
This was pur second visit to the amazing Hidden Valley Inn. We went in 2017 for 6 nights and decided this time to stay for 9 nights. We did this so that we could really experience the beauty of the reserve and explore every trail. This time, we hiked between 4-7 miles a day, each hike on a unique set of trails. Each trail had something beautiful and unique. We also arranged a private lunch and afternoon at Secret Pools, which exceeded our expectations for the lunch and the swimming. The rooms are beautifully out fitted. We stayed in an Estate Suite (room 8). I still long for showing outdoors under the stars in the waterfall shower. The bed was super comfortable too. The food was always made with the freshest choices and we were even treated with a Tanzanian lunch and a Garifuna stew. Such wonderful flavors. The bartenders made is tasty drinks and worked to make sure they captured pur palates. The staff is the Inn's greatest asset. Always professional, kind, and going out of their way to ensure we had the best time. When you plan your trip, I recommend a minimum of 6 nights so that you can hike as many trails as possible! Pack your binoculars, hiking pole, long pants, and a good hat and get ready to experience some of the most diverse ecosystems and trails you have ever seen. Make sure to take at least one guided bird hike and be sure to check out all of the over looks. They have about 90 miles of trails, will drop you where you want to go, provide you a radio, and pick you up when you are ready. They will also give you a sack lunch for the day, if needed. I cannot say enough about this most special place expect make sure you plan enough time there so that you can really experience l they have to offer. We can't wait for our next journey there. …
The individual rooms were well appointed & staff upkeep of our room throughout the day was incredible. There was always cold drinking water in the room. The reception staff, wait & bar staff all looked out for our needs. We were there primarily as birders for 10 nights and had daily activities and trips. Marvin was fabulous in finding and assisting us in seeing a large number of birds, including quite a few life birds. The beds were comfortable. We made use of their laundry services (very reasonably priced). Estell at reception actually helped us through email arrange our whole 20-day trip both at their resort and also 2 other resorts in Belize. She was extremely helpful. Sometimes our activities involved longer drives to other areas to see different birds in different environments. The chefs were unbelievable in such a remote area. The food was superb.…
For hikers and nature-lovers - exclusive access to rivers, waterfall and great vistas, plus excellent service. All staff are beyond welcoming, from housekeeping through garden-maintainers to the extremely charming Misael and Estell managing the office.
This place is amazing. It had the best, most friendly service of any place we've ever stayed. Completely unpretentious, with staff that want to share their local knowledge and ensure you have the best time possible. They did everything right for us, from our initial booking to helping us arrange excursions. We used them for our airport pick-up/drop-off which made things very easy. Their property is beautiful with so much to see and do. We did a few of the hiking trails, swam in some of the natural pools, as well as their pool by the Inn. The resident-guide is incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a great tour of the highlights one afternoon. Even got us into birding! The food was really good, every meal we had was awesome. We had two 'boxed' lunches - one for our ATM tour and one at Secret Pools (their property) - and they were above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I was just in awe of it all. The rooms were simple but had everything we needed. We loved using the fireplace in the evening and if you are into stargazing, I don't think I've been anywhere better than here. Being so remote, you can see so much of the night sky once the sun sets. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to get back there.…
Customer service was poor. It started eith the front desks attitude and then the waiters communication to us. As Belizeans you would think we would treat each other with more respect but clearly foreigners are the preffered tarket audience. To my Belizeans peers, I do not recommend eating or staying with the resort.
I absolutely loved Hidden Valley. My wife and I went as part of a package deal in Belize; the view, slow pace, and local activities will stand out for the rest of my life. Special shout out to Eli, our driver, for helping us understand more of the local culture, helping us get from place to place, and all around sharing love and positivity with some clueless tourists!
To celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary we wanted to do something special and that’s why we chose 17 days tour to Belize. Our first 3 nights we spend at Hidden Valley Inn. From the first moment we entered the Hidden Valley Inn we felt right at home. Our room was fully decorated with the most beautiful creations to wish us a happy 30th anniversary. The food was super tasty, the waiters were most friendly and our hostess Estell was a cheerful and very helpful person. To visit Caracol we chose to go with Marvin the guide from Inn. Not only was he friendly during the two and half hour drive to Caracol , he was also an expert in the Mayan culture and archeology which we enjoyed a lot during the tour. Another day we spent time at Secret pools and Falls a place which I called the paradise.you have to experience it to know what I mean . I will hardly recommend it for everyone who is in love . Actually the 3 days were very short to do and see everything at Hidden Valley Inn. My husband and I had a wonderful time thanks to the whole staff.…
Went to this Inn, it’s in the jungle on the Pine Ridge. First impression of the reception and lounge area is “this is a place I could happily live” . The bungalows are lovely and the beds very comfortable. There is a fireplace and logs and kindling should you need it. There are private hiking trails, all well sign posted, to some beautiful spots. The resort gives you a walkie-talkie to take if you need help. All the staff are tremendous and happy to help if they can. Lots of advice on the hikes. The food was fantastic. There is nothing I could fault about this place. Go visit!
Hidden Valley is incredible! During my 4 night stay I hiked over 20 miles and loved relaxing in the beautiful cabin afterwards. There are so many stunning waterfalls and cascades on this property, not to mention birds, plants, and animal life. It was amazing to be able to explore this enormous 7200 acre paradise in private, while still having the security of being able to radio the staff if needed. Considering the surroundings I would've been happy in a tent, but the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff took time to place fresh flowers and cute towel animals in the room each day, and just generally went above and beyond. The food and cocktails were excellent too! I can't recommend this place enough.
