Most guests here stay a night before or after a flight (hence why there's hardly anyone here, hence why it's so cheap right now), but I drove into Sydney and stayed several nights here because I wasn't game to drive into the city centre (and because it was so cheap).
I booked the cheapest room, paying about $110/nt, and got a free upgrade to a room that felt like it should cost about $180/nt - it had a nice bathroom, a big comfy bed, plenty of space for luggage and elegant modern decor, and was very clean. The website says that parking should cost $25/nt, but they gave me a $75 flat rate for my entire stay!
The staff that I had contact with were friendly but (with the reception being on the top floor) I had very little contact with staff, that (plus the lack of other guests) made the hotel feel particularly covid-safe.
Mascot train station is an easy 15 min stroll away - Google Maps tells you to use the Domestic Airport station, but you shouldn't do that because it's much more expensive. There are quite a few eateries near Mascot station, but once you're there you might as well go into the city. There's also a small restaurant on the top floor of the hotel, but I never ate there. Plus there's a nice lounge where you can watch planes take off and land, but I didn't spend time there either (there aren't many flights nowadays)

Stayed for 2 nights this week.
I knew of the hotel but hadn't previously stayed here.
I was pleasantly surprised!
Quite a funky place, I suppose, yet adequate and comfortable.
Reception is on the top floor and was greeted by very friendly staff in a visual pleasing space.
My room was on the 6th floor with one generous window overlooking the Airport and Botany Bay in the distance.
Although the room was on the small side, it had a bright airy feel to it with refreshing colour combinations and glorious copper tones added here and there ( especially in the bathroom)
The bed was very comfortable as well as the aircon , which was easily adjusted to your desired temperature.
The hotel is ideally located for the domestic Airport and I could see a Macdonald, Kentucky Fried Chicken from my window, which were in walking distance.
However apart from that I found it a bit far from Mascot Station if you were walking, although a bus can be caught there ( 400 or 420 from across the road from Holiday Inn Express)
Very clean, friendly staff and a welcoming comfortable place to stay

This is a good “airport” transit hotel. It is conveniently located to Terminals, a $20 taxi or cheap shuttle bus ride, or you can walk from the Domestic Terminal. A welcoming reception on the Penthouse level, different but it works and the staff were polite, helpful and efficient. The Penthouse Level has a nice bar, comfortable seating, a really nice outdoor area and quite good snack food with the kitchen also producing a very decent, fresh and tasty hamburger with chips. The rooms are well designed and very functional for an overnight stay with excellent lighting, very comfortable bed. Excellent wi fi and very good bathroom with a great shower. Frankly, I think it is a good value “transit” hotel as well as being quite suitable for a few days stopover.

I was staying for one night as I was traveling overseas. The service at the counter was very well organized and friendly. If you are looking for a hotel with good breakfast you are wrong here. They charge an additional 18$ for a very poor quality if food. No cutlery (brought me a plastic fork) and coffee came after I had finished breakfast.
There is no restaurant but instead they have a little shop (good idea) which is way to expensive! 17$ for a beer and 6$ for an ice tea. Haven’t tried the food as I was not willing to pay as much for it.
Service to the airport was very good and only cost an additional 7$. All in all It was okay, but I would try a different hotel the next time.

HI MoniMahonie, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate your candid feedback and to see that we provided a 5 star stay is fantastic. Thank you for your feedback on our beverage pricing. For future readers, our pricing for beers is very competitive ranging from $8 for premium bottled beers to $10 for Schooners of Batch Tap brew, definitely not $17 per bottle. This is certainly in line with many venues around Sydney. We do have happy hour offering each evening between 4.30pm and 7pm which offers and array of great beverage options. Thank you for your feedback and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the near future. Warmest Regards, Simon Farr General Manager

Just a stone throw away from the domestic airport, and international, this place is a must stay for local or international travellers. Arrived in on a late rainy night & you are welcomed with such a neat looking entrance. Check in/out for this place is on the top floor which is unique and certainly different from others. Retro vibe, amazing views over domestic airport was a winner for me. Room was just right, however may be a little small if you are travelling as a couple. You can opt for an airport view or city, personally airport was better for me. You may hear the odd airplane cross over, however it was great to watch airplanes take off/land. Walking distance to Mascot Shopping area where supermarket & train station is located so easy for travellers wanting to head into town. The food is reasonable - didn’t have many vegan options but staff were really accommodating. Facilities available included an athletic club for anyone wanting to get in a quick vacation workout. Wifi was also available free to guest. Overall, enjoyed my stay with Citadines, it certainly won’t be the last stay!

The main issue is getting to this hotel from the airport as the Sydney Connect shuttle only collects from Shuttle Bay 12 every 40 minutes, which is all g time yo wait after a long flight. You could Uber there for 12-14 but you need an Australian SIM card to do this. If you didn’t have much luggage, you could take the airport bus to the domestic terminal and walk 10-15 minutes but the area you are walking through is a bit industrial and again you would need a local SIM to find the place. I opted to Uber it back to the airport using the hotel WIFI. Note that unless you are staying at the Rydges Hotel right at the airport, all the other airport hotels work the same way. Cost of the shuttle is $7. The driver will give you a receipt which is charged to your room. No cash required.

Once at the hotel, service is very friendly. Rooms are small but modern and clean. Some slight aircraft noise and lighting from outside, so bring eyeshades and earplugs if you sleep lightly.

You can walk to Mascot train station in 15 minutes. Lots of Asian restaurants and convenience shops there.

I would stay here again.

I stayed overnight ahead of a flight and was very glad I chose Citadines Connect. It’s easy to find by car and the parking. Is only $20 per night. There is also a shuttle bus for a fee. The rooms are very clean, quiet and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good shower with nice toiletries. The location is also a bonus as it’s only a 15 minute walk from a lot of cafes and restaurants, as well as a large woolies supermarket if you need one. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again if I needed an airport hotel in Sydney.

I have stayed at the Citadines Connect Sydney Airport on a couple of occasions, and have an upcoming reservation. I have only stayed at one other, somewhat larger, competing airport hotel, but there is something about the Citadines which keeps drawing me back.

Upon my initial arrival at the hotel, I was somewhat perplexed by the hotel's reception being located on the penthouse level. Once I made it up there, I quickly realised just how great a use of this space it is - the views are spectacular, and having the common areas making full use of that view is one I appreciate when I stay.

Check in is always pleasant. I had some difficulty with my check in for my last stay, as my reservation could not be found, despite having the confirmation email. But this was quickly and warmly corrected, and I was welcomed back and sent to a room that accommodated my requests of a high floor with airport view.

The rooms are somewhat small, and styled reflecting a minimalist approach. There isn't a lot of furniture, but there is just enough. The decor is very modern, but not overbearing. I quite like that the rooms are quite colourful and vibrant, which sets a less clinical tone than the more typical hotel rooms. I find the room very cosy, and I always seem to manage a comfortable stay.

As an airport hotel, noise should be expected. I have never had issue there with noise from fellow guests, but airport noise common to airport hotels is simply unavoidable. It is worth noting that the hotel lies adjacent a rail line too, so some train noise may be heard from time to time. Despite this, I haven't really had issue with noise at this hotel.

The hotel gym is only adequately equipped. It's enough to get by, but there isn't anything more than a bench with some dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and a few pieces of cardio equipment. Nothing spectacular, but perfectly adequate enough to get by.

My first stay at this hotel was during COVID restrictions, so the only dining options were their "grab and go" style convenience items (I quite like they still have this available). My most recent stay, I was able to appreciate their dining option. Available for dinner was a small range of pizzas, and a delectable green curry. To this day, I can vividly remember that green curry - It was amazing! The fact that the meal can be appreciated with the panoramic view of the airport is also very pleasant. My upcoming stay will see me able to take advantage of their breakfast offering, which I am looking forward to.

To-date, this is my preferred airport hotel. Is it perfect? What hotel is! Is it comfortable? For an airport hotel, absolutely! Will I stay again? That's a very safe bet.

This is a terrific hotel very close to Sydney airport. It has a great vibe, with reception being on the top floor with a wonderful view over the airport. This level also has the bar/dining area which provide affordable, tasty light meals. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. No noise from outside make for a great night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Sydney Super Shuttle offers a transfer service and can be booked online , although their website says no need to pre book, if you don’t pre book they add the cost to you hotel room according to the website. Another option is either Uber, taxi. I have not used the parking on site but would suggest you call or email the hotel direct as spaces may be limited .

Yes - I think it would be, as there is always traffic along there. But if you have a lot of luggage you could phone the hotel in advance and perhaps see if there is a shuttle bus at the time you want - $Aud7.00, or taxi would be cheep (if queue not too long)
