Thankfully I had only one night here this is the most overpriced ,outdated, dirtiest Sebel Hotel I have stayed in . Dont be fooled by the updated reception area this hotel is in serious need of renovations and basic cleaning . I wont be staying here again there are plenty of better options in this area .
Fantastic location, beautiful view. The room itself was large and comfortable, good bed, reasonably updated, with a bonus kitchenette and a charming balcony. There’s nothing fancy or luxurious about this hotel but it’s perfectly comfortable and the location can’t be beat.
A one night stay atThe Manly Beach, it was sublime with such attentive staff who were polite & helpful! The beds were extremely comfortable and the sound of the surf was so relaxing! Will definitely visit again!
We stayed in a one bedroom deluxe apartment . We had a large balcony overlooking the beach. Everything about our stay was delightful. Having arrived at The Sebel after leaving our cruise ship, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a treat. Efficient and friendly staff Looking forward to staying there again when we return.
Excellent hotel in excellent location, large, clean & comfy rooms with awesome views of South Steyne beach. Staff super friendly & nothing is a problem. Easy walk to the Manly Corso with shops, bars & restaurants.
This hotel is very well situated on the Manly beach and is very close to numerous restaurants and coffee shops. It is also a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Manly ferry. However I think that it is slightly overpriced. Also the access to the car park underneath is a little daunting for larger cars.
We had 5 days in Manly and stayed for the second time at the Sebel. The weather was not that kind to us (mostly cool days & overcast) but a stay in an ocean view apartment is a treat in any weather. I can’t think of a better location to stay in Manly: a few steps from the patrolled beach, little traffic and an easy walk to lots of cafes and restaurants. The supermarket and organic grocer are also nearby. We enjoyed meals at Chica Bonita, Sunset Sabi, Pocket Pizza & Garfish. There are lots of great walks - up to coast to Freshwater beach, around to Shelly Beach and on to North Head and the harbour walk to Fairlight beach and beyond. The staff at the Sebel were all friendly and helpful. From previous experience we knew that if you want a toaster, you need to request one from reception. The apartment also lacks a coffee maker (quelle horreur) so I brought my aeropress and coffee from Melbourne! Teabags, milk and water are provided. It would be nice if they provided a bit of salt and pepper. Otherwise reasonably well-equiped with dishwasher, microwave (convection) and stovetop. Since our last visit they have upgraded the toiletries: nice shampoo, conditioner & body wash now provided in large (refillable) dispensers rather than little bottles. All in all, we hope to be back soon.…
Room was in the South Tower which we knew hadn't been refurbished (yet) and it was ok. A few things lacking with servicing the room but nothing major and the hotel took ownership of the issues and sorted them out and upgraded us to the best room on the last night - which amazing views and what a room (702). Would definitely go back but would make sure we stayed in the North Tower. Hotel are missing a trick not having a breakfast deal with the restaurant that is there - we'd have jumped at the chance.
I was here for a week in November and overall was ok. There were some huge pluses which are: washing and drying machines, silence all around, beach, and food/beverage options. The customer service is a bit lame and the point of the rooms being very dated is clearly evident.
Stayed here for 2 nights and while the property is in a great location, I was disappointed with the room. It was huge and had everything I need except I felt it was really dated. The bathroom looked like one from a motel not a well recognised chain such a Sebel. I have stayed at other Sebel properties before and this was by far the worst. Alot of money has been spend on the entrance but rooms are lacking. The bed was 2 singles pushed together which the sheet didn't fit over so the bed was a shambles. And the pillows were the worst I have slept on. I think alot of attention needs to go more to the rooms (South Building) as it certainly needs a freshen up to be more comfortable for guests.
