We stayed here July on arrival we were early for check in and had a meal in the bar which was ok a bit expensive for what it was but perfectly edible. On checking in the first impressions of the hotel was poor the entrance is covered in spiders webs full of dead flies so clearly been there some time, the reception has a damp smell that hits you the moment you walk in. The room was a good size but there had clearly been a leak in the roof at some point and the tide marks can still be seen on ceiling with some of the paper loose and coming off the ceiling. The bedding and towels were fresh but were also stained so clearly not properly checked when being put out in room. The tiles in the shower area had pink mould on the grout so cleaning standards of the bathrooms is poor. We tried to eat in the restaurant/bar the second night of our stay but dispite there being only 2 tables in the bar occupied and tables out side free we were told bluntly that if we hadn’t booked they would not serve us, there was no attempt to check if any tables or times were free so do not believe them at check in that even if not booked they would try to accommodate residents as not the case.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Clachan Cottage for a much needed change of scenery and to walk in the area with our dog. We arrived slightly before 3pm but here was no problem checking in and the gentleman on reception was friendly and helpful. Our dog friendly room was comfortable and well furnished. There was a large tiled bathroom with a shower over the bath (plenty of hot water!) Evening meals were only being served in the bar at this time, but that was fine for us as we would have used that anyway so that we could have our dog with us. Basic bar food menu, but food was very good, with good portions too. We had also sat outside the bar in the sun with a lovely view over the loch, for a drink in the afternoon; very pleasant. The continental breakfast was served in the breakfast room (no dogs allowed). There was a very good range of cereals, croissants, fruit, cheese and ham etc and good coffee. The hotel was clean and staff all wore face masks (except one who had a lanyard) and we felt very safe. There was an overall welcoming feeling and staff were all friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation returning.

Myself and my wife checked into Clachan cottage hotel for a 2 night stay. On check in walking into a well aired and fresh reception area to greeted by a very pleasant staff member. We were directed to our room on first floor (garden view) to the rear which was very comfortable with fresh decor but it had lovely older feel with solid antique furniture that gives a very warm homely feeling and a great bed. Large fully tiled bathroom with shower over bath. Continental breakfast selection was fantastic with many options to choose from, various cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurts, croissants, tea + coffee, fresh fruit juice etc fantastic options to cater for everyone. Next to the breakfast room there is a lounge room with couches, chairs and books very large window overlooking the Loch and hills (extremely relaxing). There is an onsite bar with windows looking out to amazing views over the Loch. in normal times (Non covid restrictions) I could picture the place being very cosy and comfortable with a great atmosphere with the pool table, darts board and juke box in use. Unfortunately we did not try the food or onsite restaurant on our visit so couldn't review that part of the hotel. Negative point if any was that the room was very hot and unfortunately they don't have any fans available to the rooms, other than that we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to others. Thank you to all the staff for such a lovely stay.

We booked here for a few nights stay to get away from all the hustle and bustle of work and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff were so nice and friendly, amazing on check in and check out. The food was great - I must say the steak pie was out of this world ! The views speak for themselves - wow ! We will definitely be back !

We're just back from a lovely overnight stay at Clachan Cottage. The hotel was clean and although traditional decor in the reception area, restaurant and bar, the rooms had a modern feel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Fantastic location right on the loch. We were kindly given the option of a loch view room for no extra charge when we checked in as one was available. I had tried to book one but there hadn't been any available at the time. Would definitely go back.
