We stayed here during a trip to Scotland and it was fab. Good restaurant with a very "gamey" menu ... Nice rooms - ours was in a turret and had a nice open fire ... Most welcome as we were soaking wet and freezing cold....More
Attended friends wedding and were in the court room which was top class.
We'd do g ran like clockwork and the staff could not do enough for everyone. They worked latest night and appeared to serve at breakfast bright and uncomplaining the next morning.
Hotel is easy to find with free parking outside. The bar area is lovely and cosy with a welcoming open fire, we ate breakfast and dinner here also. Room was warm and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was great. Dornoch was a...More

Stayed there for one night on a special and then paid for an upgraded room.
The room was spacious with views to the cathedral.

I agree with the previous writer that bus is convenient from Inverness to Dornoch BUT it leaves early (?9.20am) so you would need an overnight stay in in Inverness unless you were doing sleeper which arrives Inverness ?6am... More
I agree with the previous writer that bus is convenient from Inverness to Dornoch BUT it leaves early (?9.20am) so you would need an overnight stay in in Inverness unless you were doing sleeper which arrives Inverness ?6am. Train connection goes to Tain and a taxi would be feasible from there approx.8 miles.
