I these strange times I was made to feel very welcome and safe by all the staff. My room was very comfortable, clean and had a great view along Borrowdale. The food was excellent making good use of local produce and game. Loved watching the red squirrels from the dining room windows. I have already booked my next visit.

We have returned for the third time to this jewel of a hotel . A warm welcome is given as you walk through the doors . The rooms are comfortable and clean . The bar and restaurant area look out onto the beautiful countryside . The staff are fantastic , helpful and nothing is too much trouble . The chef is a wonder , whether it is a sandwich bowl of soup or the amazing dinner in the evening , his/her attention to detail is second to none . I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or the restaurant to anyone lucky enough to come here .

We had one of the dog friendly rooms which was comfortable and stylish. Also as it was on the ground floor. it was onvenient for taking our dog out for a morning and evening walk. The meals were exceptional for a hotel and the attitude of the staff and quality of service coudn't be faulted. The location of the hotel is great with amazing views of the mountains. We did a different walk on 3 different days and only scratched the surface. Many thanks

Hotel is in a beautiful location. The view around the hotel and from the rooms are lovely. The staff are fantastic. They are polite, friendly and extremely professional, and nothing is too much trouble. The food is outstanding.
