Hotel's Favorite
We have been guests of the Hilton (and Embassy Suites) in Myrtle Beach for roughly 30 years, and returned for our first post-pandemic visit. The facility was clean, as were our rooms, and every staff member we encountered was the picture of customer-focused service, including Nathan and Matthew at the pool, our maid Heidy, Barbara at the health club, and Michelle, who was literally everywhere. But adjusting to the new post-pandemic protocols takes time, like scheduling room cleaning, but everyone accommodated us. If there is one area where Hilton needs to change, it's on the new no-free-breakfast policy. For Diamond members accustomed to a free breakfast a $12 credit toward an overpriced buffet with a limited selection (really, they can't serve bacon every day) and virtually broken toaster or choices that cost a lot more is a message Hilton shouldn't want to send. But other than the excuse of a pandemic to eliminate free breakfasts, our visit was excellent in every way.

Definitely enjoyed ourselves, we did have text to get housekeeping which we didn’t like, and also 2 floors had to use the same microwave which wasn’t fun at all. But the kids had so much fun on the beach! Honestly would come back but hopefully those issues are taking care before returning!

So, Mother’s Day weekend my husband and I stayed at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort. We checked in on Friday afternoon, went to our room, and noticed that one the towel hooks on the bathroom wall was hanging off of the hinge; the patio door was jammed and hard to open; and the shower was so small you could not turn around. While taking a shower that night, I saw someone else’s hairs on the side and back shower walls. We reported this to the front desk with the hope of getting the bathroom cleaned. Upon returning to our room Saturday evening, the towel hook was fixed, but the hairs were STILL visible on both shower walls. We notified the front desk again and they said they would send housekeeping to the room to clean it. Housekeeping came to our room, and we waited outside the door while they “supposedly” cleaned the shower. After they left, we checked the shower, and the hairs were STILL present on both shower walls. My husband went back to the front desk, and they finally agreed to move us to a different room and the shower “appeared” to be clean but after the first room…. who knows? We would have left the hotel, but we were there for an event and had to stay at that hotel. We did check out earlier than our scheduled departure date. The weird thing about this situation is that the bathroom mirror had a sticker stating that the room was “cleaned and disinfected for your comfort and protection”. That’s a lie. The food was good overpriced. Every time we called the front desk they never answered the phone. Once time they called back 1 hour later, by then, we forgot why we called them. The only toiletries provided was a small bar of soap. Lastly, they tried to overcharge us by having both self-parking and valet-parking on our receipt. Luckily, I caught that before we left the hotel and they fixed it. If you plan on visiting Myrtle Beach, I highly recommend you stay at another hotel. This is our last time staying at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort.

Overpriced for the amenities that you don’t receive. Bathroom needed to be fixed when we checked in. Had to request new towels and for the garage to be taken out on the second day of our stay as it wasn’t the policy of the hotel to clean the room everyday.
