Needed comfortable, safe, clean accomodations for two adults, two teenagers at a beachfront location for a stress-free, relaxing vacation. The Ocean Oak Resort was perfect. Our unit was an Oceanfront room, fifth floor in Building 1. There are only 4 Oceanfront units per floor, 6 floors, in Building 1. Building 2’s units were farther back from the ocean. Our unit had tile floors, coffee maker, blender, GE cafe appliances, washer/dryer, granite counter tops, large dining table, large TVs, sofa bed, HUGE bathrooms, one king bedroom and one bedroom with two full size beds. A balcony with chairs and small tables faced the ocean for beautiful views. See attached pics. All beds had luxurious bedding. The unit seemed brand new. The pools were sparkling clean and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beach is very close to the pool which made going between beach and pool easy and nice. Location is close to Coligny area and bike trails. We rented bikes from Cross Island Cruisers-fabulous bikes and service, and biked every night on the beach after dinner and to breakfast daily! Lots of families with kids of all ages and overall a pleasant vibe. Beach chairs/umbrella rental was available on the beach for $38/first day and $25 for each day after, if needed. Only two negatives - short parking space supply as most spaces were reserved for Carolina Beach Club members in the parking garage which made for a long walk to an elevator. Not bad at all for teens but it would be very difficult with loading and unloading with babies and small children. The other negative was the abundance of noise in unit above due to furniture scraping on tile floors and doors closing late night and early mornings. Overall, these were small issues for our family! We hope to visit again soon!

You won’t go wrong buying into then staying a week with timeshare ownership at this superb resort. It’s ideal for all ages and especially little children with a pool area set aside for them. A short walk to the beach where the surf is so calm its safe for the youngest to enjoy the ocean. Add the hotel staff takes seriously in ensuring the guest safety separating lounges at the pool and constantly wiping down equipment. There’s a pool side snack and drink restaurant serving great bar drinks Very spacious and well appointed all 2 bedroom condos are quiet and comfortable for 6 people

We stayed here over the July 4th. It’s a beautiful place . The front office is very friendly upon check in . Workers were cleaning the pool everyday with masks on around 6:30am. The pool helpers were very friendly . They would wipe your lounge chairs down once someone left and they would help move umbrellas . They were so busy wiping down pool handles and disinfecting chairs . The gave out free water. Around 3:00pm they would give out ice cream to the children and adults who wanted it . All the pool workers worked hard with positive attitudes in heat with masks on . We did not receive housekeeping because we stayed only 3 nights . I was told you need to stay 5 nights to receive housekeeping. We loved the pool and grounds . The grills were closed during the time we were there because of Covid-19. But the kitchen was well equipped to cook July 4th dinner for family . We would love to come back . Maybe over 40th Anniversary in September.

Wow what a wonderful, relaxing stay. We experienced excellent front desk service (thank you Richard & Liz). We had an amazing ocean view from our suite. The resort is beautiful with very clean, large suites. I’m very particular about cleanliness, so great job cleaning crew. Resort staff were always cleaning and wiping down pool entry gates, pool handrails, and pool chairs. They also made sure each family had chairs sitting 6 ft apart from each other. Beach area was also very clean and not crowded, each family separated nicely keeping distance as we are all trying our best to stay safe during this pandemic. Thank you to all involved and we will hopefully be back next year for a longer stay.

The Ocean Oaks resort was perfect from check in to check out. The staff went over and above to be friendly and accommodating to us. The room is spacious and now my teen is complaining that his bath at home isn't as nice. The pools are beautiful and so clean! The workers at the pool were outside in the heat, wearing masks, disinfecting, measuring and yet managed to be so friendly. We can't wait to stay here again.

Our family of five recently stayed in Tower 1, which is approximately three years old. (Last year, we stayed in Tower 2, which was only a few months old at the time.). Both towers are very similar as far as room lay out and furnishings. The two bedroom/two bathroom suite with a balcony was a very nice floor plan for our group.
This beachfront complex has two swimming pools, grills, and a small grassy area where kids can play. There is a small poolside restaurant that has a very limited menu. Across the street, there is a pedestrian/bike trail that can be used for fitness or to walk to many points of interest. Be careful while using the trails. On multiple occasions, old men on bicycles came plowing through almost hitting pedestrians and even a woman with a stroller.
I gave this resort 4/5 instead of 5/5 for two reasons. First, even though our room was “sealed” with a Hilton CleanStay sticker, there were crumbs on the kitchen counter and the bathroom mirror was dirty (with an old, peeling Hilton CleanStay sticker on it). We brought our own cleaning supplies and had planned to wipe down high contact spots ourselves, but finding our room obviously dirty was concerning during COVID. We did not report this to management as it was late and we preferred to just fix the problem ourselves rather than being exposed to an employee in our room or changing rooms after we had started settling in. Second, the room is set up on a sensor that shuts the air off when there is no movement. We would go to bed comfortable only to wake up hot and for someone to have to get out of bed to trigger the sensor that would turn the air back on. We did call the front desk about how to stop this from happening. We were told that someone would come and turn it off. We never saw anyone, and it continued to do it.

Where to start. We lived part time in HHI for close to ten years, and know the island well. Being Hilton honors members we we excited when the Ocean Oaks was opening and booked for the opening week, until hurricane Matthew decided to hit and all reservations we cancelled. Fast forward 5 years and we finally made it, and boy we're glad we did! The resort is located in South Forest Beach, and as soon as we checked in we were floored at the full service room! 2 full bedrooms and a full stocked kitchen, which changed our eating plans immediately. The pools are great, the cabana bar and grill are perfect for everyone from young families to drinks by the pool. We will be back (even though we now live on the NC coast!)

Each time we visit Ocean Oak, it’s a good time. We can always expect a beautiful room and top-notch service. Terri took care of us upon our arrival and made us feel like we were welcomed immediately.
Our room was immaculate and we felt safe as their cleaning methods were obvious. The staff helped us out promptly when we screwed up the TV and got us back in service.
The pool deck was spaced out and we were impressed with how diligently they kept the area wiped down. Rick was incredible in how he made us feel like we were VIPs throughout the trip even though we saw he was doing it for everyone. That guy worked his tail off every day! He even met us in the courtyard with waters after our morning bike ride.
There are several other staff members who treated us really well. I failed to note their names, but the entire staff should be proud of the impression we are left with.
My only complaint is that they obviously do such a great job that everyone wants to visit here and we can’t get in as often as we’d like.

This hotel is excellent. They have hand sanitizer, masks and gloves at every entrance and by each elevator. The staff is frequently wiping down pool furniture and high touch areas with cleaning spray. The grounds are nice and clean. The rooms are stylish, updated, large and very clean. The condition of everything seems brand new! The staff is always pleasant and attentive. Can’t recommend this hotel enough for families. The location is perfect and the beach is clean. Pool is heated. Plenty of coveted parking.
