The best part was the breakfast. Honestly shocked at the spread they had. The rooms are needing updated. Mold in bathroom, door to bathroom had significant water damage and just painted over. Wish I brought flip flops…….. The staff were ok, pleasant I guess you could say.
This is my go-to place to stay when in town for the Clemson Kennel Club dog show! The staff are always friendly and welcoming. This trip, Dawn, was beyond kind welcoming Choice Privilege's members but more importantly, my dogs. She greeted them in the hallways, which they absolutely LOVED! Our room and the property were very clean and well kept. I feel the property was secure and safe, and the parking lot is well lit at night. Over the past few years this is the hotel I always stay at when in Clemson.
Austin provided exceptional service at the front desk. Quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend to others!! Great breakfast bar and clean rooms. King suite rooms are huge very comfortable beds. Very convenient location!!
Very clean hotel and quiet. Rooms were nice and the best shower head. They allowed us to check in really early. Always stay at Abernathy or Lakeside Lodge but this was nice. Never did breakfast downstairs because it was basic yogurt/bagel thing.
We were in town to attend a basketball game and checked in after the game, approx. 10:15 pm. The front desk clerk was rude, unfriendly. Never greeted us, except with "checking in ", no hello, Hi, welcome to the hotel, nothing. When asking for ID and credit card, never said please. Never told us about hotel breakfast, wi-fi, nothing. Just handed us our key package, and never said anything after that. The hotel was clean, as was the room and it was very comfortable. The morning desk clerk was very nice though, as this was a different from the night clerk.
DO NOT STAY HERE if you want a good nights sleep and to be treated with respect by the front desk staff. On our 4th night here, we could not sleep because the utility trucks parked outside our room ran their trucks ALL NIGHT long. (2 different companies but only one company ran the trucks all night). When my husband went to discuss the issue, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude to him. So after very little sleep, we had to drive 9 hours home the next day. We have stayed here in the past when we come visit family but no more. They need to hire more polite front desk staff. The woman we dealt with is not a good look for the chain.
With everything happening in the world I have to say Austin and April at the Clemson Comfort Inn went above and beyond to help me with my personal needs. Without going into how much they helped me I would like to note their ability to see what I needed through my eyes was very appreciated. I am grateful and look forward to 4 more years traveling to Clemson and staying at this location. Thank you Austin and April. Jennifer U.
After taking a long and sleepless overnight ride on Amtrak from Va,...I arrived in Clemson on 8/24 in the morning,..in the dark. After walking(my choice) about 1/2 mile from the station I could only hope that they would let me check in earlier than 4 pm.. Much to my surprise, I was greeted with a smile and as a ''Choice member'' was able to check in early to an available room. I was able to nap a few hours and at least feel a bit normal. This seems to be a hotel that was re-modeled by Choice Hotels,....not built as one. Everything in the room was excellent,....however,....the breakfast was a major disappointment. Really nothing healthy to eat Still,...I ended up staying another day.
Stayed here for three nights during late July. Nice, clean room that was well air-conditioned. Comfortable sleeping and quiet even though the property was on a busy highway with a railroad behind. The breakfast was ok. Somewhat limited but this is likely due to covid-requirements. Still, it was satisfying. Perhaps the only problem was the pool; it was simply too warm. Almost need a "cooled" pool for summer.
We had another reservation at a competing hotel in town which was clearly substandard. We ended up at this Comfort Inn on short notice with no reservation. Vivian at the front desk was outstanding as she got us a clean comfortable room and helped us find the best local places to eat. I would absolutely stay here again. Fantastic service
