A few things that you need to be aware of: -If you have a room that faces the city market, you will have a nice balcony, but also, you might hear the dumpster trucks in the early morning that clean the street. Rooms facing the courtyard might be quieter. -There are no clocks in the bedroom nor in the living room area. - In the bedroom, the air vents blow air right on the bed, so if that bothers you, take note. - The WiFi password needs to be entered many times when you turn on the laptop, tablet or phone to surf the internet.......this is one of the most annoying things....other places allow 24 hours or the duration of your stay for log on using the given password.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony overlooking the market can be a bit noisy. Courtyard rooms are more quiet.

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. It was even nicer than we envisioned from the reviews. Jared checked us in and could not have been more helpful or more friendly. We had a king room and it was situated on two levels. Floor one had a kitchenette which had everything you could need should you want to cook. Also, had a living area and a powder room. The upstairs had the bedroom with a very comfortable king bed and a full bathroom. Plenty of hot water in the bath and the shower was good. There was also a balcony but no furniture so you couldn't really use it. With COVID, your room is not serviced. However, when we left our used towels in the hall, we left a note with items we needed -- it never took more than 5 minutes to receive what we requested. Actually, Rosie was a delight -- very friendly and very good -- exceeded expectations and provided everything. The location of the hotel could not be better. It is right next to the market, very close to many restaurants and great shopping. We would definitely stay again on our return to Charleston. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in the heart of downtown Charleston. You could stay here for a week and not have to drive to find something different to do if you wanted to. The hotel itself was very nice, our room was a townhouse style suite with the bedroom upstairs and a kitchen and living room downstairs. Great for a family. The staff was exceptionally nice every step of the way, giving recommendations on places to go and things to see. We'll be sure to stay here again.

Church Street Inn is in a great location. Right next to the market and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and bars. The room has 2 floors. First floor has a full kitchen, living room, table, and half bath. Second floor is the bedroom and full bathroom.

I hve stayed here several times over the years. This one will kee me away forever. I asked before we drove down, what is going on? I was told that things were pretty much like usual. The market is closed, the historical district looks like a war zone, because of rioters. Most restaurants were closed. there was a 9 pm curfew. Nothing like usual. Then when checking out, several service charges added to my bill. I was staying on points, so parking should have been the only charges. I wish i had not even gone at all. Charleston looks sad, and first time i have felt very unsafe. Go at you own risk.

Response from Jared Resch, General Manager at Church Street Inn
Responded 9 Sep 2020
I do apologize about your visit to Charleston, I have recently had the chance to go over your response and check with Choice. The dates you where here the city of Charleston issued a curfew and the hotel has nothing to do with rule governed by the City do to a world wide pandemic that is something we all should plan for. Your bill was paid for with your points however, that does not cover taxes, hotel fee, or parking this is in your choice privileges package statement. While I do understand your frustration on this matter please understand the Hotel does have to fallow policy as well as the law.
