We stayed 5 days in Charleston at Hotel Bennet. Our corner room was very spacious and beautiful. We particularly loved the rooftop bar with a fabulous view. The hotel is elegant and staff working there are all very friendly. However, there were two disappointing elements. One was inconsistency with the housekeeping service. It was very good during the weekend but felt short during the weekdays. They never bothered to replace the shampoo/conditioner little bottles during our stay until I requested. Something I felt unheard of from a 5 star hotel. Another disappointing factor was food including breakfast. The breakfast menu was limited. I was totally disappointed by their latte; it tasted diluted. I may go back to the hotel as I liked the room but I would not eat anything at the hotel. …

My girlfriends and I booked a small girl's trip at Hotel Bennett in celebration of my bachelorette. I was told that Charleston would be a good place to celebrate and after discovering Hotel Bennett on Instagram, I was sold based on the tasteful decor and how beautiful the hotel was. After skimming all the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, there was no doubt in my mind that I had found the perfect place to stay for my bachelorette and I went ahead to book it on the spot! Hotel Bennett totally exceeded my expectations upon arrival! The entire staff are incredibly lovely, attentive, and all about Southern hospitality! The place was even more gorgeous in person than the photos and they do a great job keeping it immaculately clean including our actual room which room service really was on top of keeping our room looking neat and organized during our stay. The best highlights are the rooftop pool and the King's Club which I recommend spending the extra money per night to have access to. There is a separate outdoor terrace in the King's Club along with breakfast, snacks, appetizers, and desserts provided each and every day which we greatly enjoyed. This also includes an open bar in which they will provide you with anything that you ask for. I told the staff that I like a lemon drop martini but wanted something that was icy and they offered to blend up something for me which was incredibly delightful after walking around Charleston on a hot sunny day! I like to work out when I am on vacation and made good use of their fitness center which had all the basic equipment that I needed. My friends enjoyed it as well including the Peloton bikes that they had available. The location is right on the iconic King's Street which was central to many shops and cool bars/restaurants. A great location, a beautiful ambiance, and impeccable service is what makes a hotel outstanding and I have to say that Hotel Bennett excels in all of these categories! This is definitely the BEST hotel in Charleston so do not hesitate in booking your stay here. During our trip, we passed other upscale hotels and walked into them to look but nothing compared to Hotel Bennett. I am not someone who tends to go back to the same hotel twice but let me tell you that there will be a next time whenever I go back on vacation in Charleston. I cannot say enough good things and will continue to recommend this hotel to all my family, friends, and clients. Hotel Bennett--THANK YOU for making my bachelorette such a memorable and beautiful experience that I will always cherish! :) (A side note, I actually had left my work phone in my hotel room the day that we checked out. I didn't notice it was missing until I got to the airport so as I was typing them an email from my personal cell phone to let them know that I had left it in the room, a staff member called me directly to let me know they found it in the room and had offered to ship it back to me. I received it a little under a week later and was so thankful that they were so kind and proactive in getting my phone back to me. Let me start the review by saying the Hotel Bennett exceeded our expectations during our stay in May 2023. Great location, well maintained with great staff. We arrived on Thursday afternoon with few plans made for our weekend visit to Charleston. We decided to stop and chat with Kevin, the Concierge to get some restaurant recommendations. Our stop turned into thirty minutes with Kevin making suggestions and reservations for us for the whole weekend. We found Kevin to be super helpful and a valuable resource. One of the experiences he suggested was a boat ride with an 8th generation Charlestonian during low tide out to Morris Island. It was just the captain and us on a small boat out to see the decommissioned lighthouse. Gresh, our captain took his time explaining the sea life and history of the waterways in and around Charleston. During our trip we saw many dolphins. Gresh took us up close to see them. It was great! He showed up oyster beds. Told us the history of Morris Island and about the many casualties that resulted during the Civil War battle that took place on it. Our stay at Hotel Bennett was nothing short of magnificent. I entered the drawing that celebrated the 4th anniversary of the hotel on the Hotel Bennett Facebook page and was quite surprised when I received the notification that I had won. From our first contact with Halina Wilusz, we were treated like “Royalty”. We had to change our initial reservation due to an illness and Halina accommodated us without any problem at all. The Valets and Bellmen were fantastic. Carmen greeted us at the front desk and, what an energetic crew! Our weekend corresponded with our 39th wedding anniversary, and Morgan grabbed 2 glasses of champagne for us while we checked in. At the King’s Club, Alanna and her team were so welcoming. Jordyn was the concierge and Ashley was assisting. They were all fantastic and personable. After our room keys were delivered to us at the King’s Club, we finished our drinks and headed to our room. We had a bottle of Champagne waiting for us (how thoughtful is that?). Later that evening we had a couple of drinks at Fiat Lux. Great atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The outside area has an awesome view of Charleston. We booked a walking tour for Saturday morning. After the tour, we returned to the King’s Club and Donna ensured we were taken care of. She was so sweet. We also met Lloyd, another attendant in the King’s Club and what special guy. Saturday night was dinner at Gabrielle. Oh my! Ann was an amazing server. She ensured we were taken care of. She was so nice and very professional. She ensured we received the best service. She covered every detail! And. the food did not disappoint. I had she crab soup to start and shrimp and grits as the main course. I love shrimp and grits, and this was the best I have ever tasted. My wife had the Mahi, and it was cooked to perfection. Our 3 night stay was great. The main issue was room location. 722 would not recommend. The staff were polite and professional but not quite 5 star. The location was great for our needs of being able to explore on foot and find lots of shops and restaurants on King Street.

We had the most wonderful time at the Hotel Bennett! We went for a mother/daughter to celebrate Mother’s Day and birthdays with our friends and it was excellent from start to finish! Every single member of the staff was professional, attentive, and could not be nicer! A special shout out to Jessica by the pool who really went above and beyond to make our time at the pool so awesome!! Thank you Jess!! This hotel and its staff were incredible and we plan to make an annual trip. The facilities, restaurants, and amenities were beyond a five-star experience. THe pool and the service around the pool made you feel like you were on a private retreat.

You don't want to miss this gem in the heart of Downtown Charleston. If you want a true Charleston experience than stay with someone who actually was born, reared, and lived their entire life there! Michael Bennet, owner, is a true and true Charlestonian and everything he does only makes his hometown even better than before. We had a wonderful stay in the fantastic Hotel Bennett. The staff is doing a great job - especially to mention the concierge team. Only at the pool bar we had to wait a little to long and the service did not show up so we went somewhere else for a drink ;-)

Our reunion of three college friends at Hotel Bennett was beyond perfect. Upon arrival, we were greeted with big smiles and offers of assistance from the doormen. The front desk staff was exceptionally pleasant and rooms were ready before promised. Our accommodations were reminiscent of scenes from the “lives of the rich and famous.” The spacious rooms were beautifully furnished, with special touches including remote controlled sheers and blackout curtains and a free-standing bathtub adorned with a stunning chandelier. The shower had abundant hot water with multiple shower heads and housekeeping staff did an excellent job. Breakfasts in the hotel’s elegant dining room were a great start to the day and the rooftop pool with its panoramic views of Charleston, was a lovely place to unwind with a drink at the end of the day. But it was the head concierge at Hotel Bennett, Kevin McQuade, that exceeded our expectations to ensure a truly memorable reunion in Charleston. Kevin arranged a conference call with the three of us prior to our arrival to discern our interests and preferences regarding touring and dining. Kevin learned we needed restaurants with vegetarian options and made reservations for us at unique venues that offered delicious food and libations with wonderful service and inviting decor. To gain a full appreciation of Charleston, Kevin recommended three tours. One was a two hour daytime walking tour through the historic district with Kay Abrams, a highly knowledgeable guide who shared the unique appeal of early and modern Charleston and was not reluctant to discuss the city’s history as a slave trading port. Kevin also suggested an eco-boat tour on the Folly River, where we spied playful dolphins, oyster beds and walked a sandbar full of lovey shells. But most unique and magical was a nighttime walking tour of Charleston’s historical residential neighborhood, led by Kevin himself. Elegant gardens, subtly lit, created a mysterious ambience enhanced by bubbling fountains and the intoxicating aroma of confederacy jasmine. In our many travels, we have not experienced a concierge with the passion and commitment to serving his guests, as Kevin McQuade. If you travel to Charleston, we highly recommend the Hotel Bennett. …
