The building is a well - restored example of Greek Revival architecture. Your stay is in a mansion, circa 1905, that is elegantly appointed with exquisite antiques and fabulous artwork. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. It is located very close to a well-known venue for weddings and parties, so convenient!
The B & B is beautiful it's like going back in time. O was told it was built on 1905 and it feels like it with it's antiques and art . And the food was excellent . JOY your cooking reminds me of home and the blueberry muffins yumm.
This is a lovely B&B with some serious service issues. Upon checking in, the innkeeper who didn't identify himself as the innkeeper was confused about who were, how long we were staying and which room we should be in. He made a quick call to the owner Andy to sort it out. This is not the typical greeting that we have received when staying at a B&B. How about, " Hello, welcome to the Edgewood Manor Inn." The occupancy was low, so it wasn't as if he was overwhelmed. This was the only time we saw him during our stay. Shortly thereafter I was getting some water and another guest showed up to check in. She asked if I was a staff person. I helped her find the alleged innkeeper so that she could check in. She asked him about breakfast hours which are later than advertised. He was of…
Just 2 hours before checking in, I received a text from my sister to call Andy the owner- asap. He lost our reservation and had no room for us. My record of text correspondence (a month earlier) said otherwise. He got extremely defensive and started questioning my cc charges, claimed he "overbooked" but would cancel another guest to "make room" for us if I agree to paying an extra $100 a night for an extra person in our party. When I calmly asked for an explanation about the additional cost, he refused to give me the room! I had to apologize to keep him from hanging up on me. Since my sister and I made arrangements to keep our kids together, I felt abused by his process and pressured to agree to his terms. Otherwise, I would have not stayed there. Upon arrival, we were put…
When I first looked online to find a unique place to stay for my anniversary I found Edgewood Manor . We had been to New England but not to Rhode island The pictures looked fabulous--- almost too nice . Well I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and the inn turned out to be even more beautiful than the pictures had depicted online. first let me comment on the innkeeper junior....his helpfulness was so appreciated I don't think we could have carried the luggage up all the stairs to the third floor without his help. His dinner suggestions were spot on . We wanted to go somewhere special and have awesome food. Well his suggestion to us was a newly reopened restaurant which was located 15 minutes from providence in Fall River MA . The Abbey Grill. Wow what a place it…
This reminded us of the Newport Mansions (the smaller ones) with many excellent antique pieces - from furniture to art, tapestry & wall coverings. It was awesome to roam the house and view & touch such elegant surroundings. Our room was very comfortable on the third floor - the heat was not too high for sleeping (even though it was on the third floor & with water-radiator heat). The room was very clean, even the closets, window sill areas, and shower. I checked for critters under the sheets, mattress, etc (I do this at every hotel, B&B, etc) and there was not a speck or evidence of anything. We stayed in the Vanderbilt room with a Jacuzzi tub - very nice, never short of hot water! Next time we will try the Empire room across the hall (we peaked in to see it). The…
This Bed and Breakfast is a comfortable and quiet place to spend a night or a week. Graciously decorated with much attention to details, the Edgewood is a wonderful Victorian experience and definitely for those that want to experience what ambiance was like in the early 20th century. It is conveniently located, and offers a wide variety of amenities including internet, Cable TV, free parking, function room and kitchen-rooms for long term stays. If you want an escape from the cold and drab routine of motels and hotels ten try this place, you will be glad you did.
I stayed here recently because I am from out of town and it was conveniently located to where I had to attend a funeral of a friend. It was a cold winter night and the room was way overheated, with no way to get the room temperature below the mid-80s Fahrenheit. In addition, the place had not been dusted, so the heat filled the room with dry house dust which caused an allergy attack. I got almost not sleep because of the overheating and dry dusty air. The closet in the room had a filthy air conditioner which apparently had been removed from the window but never cleaned, so that it was almost impossible to hang clothes in the closet without rubbing them against the filth. The shower curtain has blotches of mold growing on it. The one plus was the the breakfast was quite…
My husband and I stayed here for New Years Eve and it was a great evening. Room was large, clean and decorated gorgeously! The antiques were charming and felt like a step back in time with true elegance. Breakfast was delicous and Judy was so accomodating! Thank you for a great experience!
Omg! I feel like I died and went to Heaven! The Manor was such a splendid blessett get away for the holiday. From the decor and decorations. It is by far one of the best Mansions I've ever visited in RI . It is a very enchanted Victorian museum along with all of its history. At this time of year I found it to be very a really nostalgic place . My suite had a fireplace and jacuzzi. I found the owner and inn keeper to the chef to be very personable and exquisite service. I am already booked for next time I visit yo RI to see my Family.
