Our family needed a place to stay for our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter while we prepared our home for their visit during the pandemic. We didn't reallze how utterly delightful it would be for them to have a night in the Edgewood Manor. Staying in this lovingly cared for and manor filled with details, sculptures and artifacts from another time is liking stepping into another world filled with magic and beauty. Our family was well-cared for and felt very safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay in the Edgewood Manor. Conveniently located to the center of Providence and a lot of the surrounding lovely parks and beaches of the state of RI.
I came to Edgewood Manor in great need of R and R. The stress started to melt off of me when I entered the beautiful mansion, replete with chandeliers, stained glass, and oriental carpets. I arrived shortly before midnight and the house was lit up with classical music playing. It was truly a magical memory. The following two nights here left me feeling like a new person. Also, the owner is very friendly and a wonderful host.
My husband had good intentions when he booked a room at the Edgewood Manor for my friend and I to stay in for a girl’s weekend. He told us that it was in a beautiful mansion and that there was a jacuzzi tub. My friend and I were really looking forward to having a relaxing evening during the busy holiday season. However, it ended up turning into a bit of an adventure. We arrived at the Edgewood Manor at around sunset on a Saturday night. There was a man raking leaves in the yard next door, which was a bit odd considering that it was a Saturday night in December. We walked around to the front door. It was locked so we rang the bell. We waited a few minutes and no one answered. We decided to try the door on the side of the house. That door was locked as well. We stood…
My boyfriend planned a beautiful night for us at the Manor, we were able to attend the Halloween party and the wine tasting! It was a beautiful night and I cannot wait to come back! Thank you for a beautiful night !!
Edgewood Manor is such a fantastic classic place. You would never think it would look like that inside since all the modern world is around it. Such beautiful designs inside with a great history. Was a great even inside the night I stayed with very kind and fun guests. The room was cozy, quiet, and takes you back in time. Great feels and environment. Will continue to stay there when I can. I highly recommend.
It started with a last min idea, “hey babe let’s get away”. knowing it was a holiday weekend we started our search for B&B’s in the Rhode Island area finally stumbling upon this gem. Not only was it affordable, the stay was comfortable and relaxing, a really great stay. The decor is fitting and amazing along with the architectural design. Rooms are big and spacious ours even had a fireplace to enjoy a romantic evening... Amazing bang for the buck 5star experience on an affordable budget.
Weeks ago I booked a room for my fiancee and myself for our wedding night. This place checked all the boxes. King Bed, jacuzzi, charm, location to our wedding venue. So excited! Unfortunately, we weren't able to have our first choice room because we only wanted to stay 1 night (Saturday) after our long, fun day of celebrating. However, Andy assured us that we could stay in a slightly smaller room for just one night instead. The room still had a nice bath and a big bed---worked for us. Now, it's one week before the BIG DAY, Andy has reneged on the 'one night' deal in the smaller room. Either we have to stay 2 nights, which isn't--and wasn't ever--in our budget OR we can now book an EVEN smaller room with no jacuzzi. Andy--what a man--has given us 2 whole hours to decide what…
Let me start by saying that my husband and I stayed at the Edgewood Manor about 4-5 months ago. The experience was wonderful. The only drawback was the check-in; calling the owner and finding the key was a bit disconcerting. But, we were upgraded to a larger room. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous and truly gourmet dining. Fresh muffins and juice were aplenty a the fruit and eggs Benedict were divine. So, we told our brother and sister-in-law that they should stay at the Manor when in town. Well...last weekend they did. They arrived on Friday afternoon and were let in to the place by a couple from NY. A phone call had to be made to the owner as there was no inn keeper to do check-in. They found that the key was on the entry table…
We had such high hopes for this place based on previous reviews and what are listed as features. There is no full-time host so even though the Inn (B&B) is locked, there is no one there to let you in unless you call Andy, the owner to get the code. The place is not really clean, There was plenty of dirt and grit everywhere in the hotel. There was definitely no Wi-Fi. No massage/wellness center. No luxury linens. We felt dirty lying in the bed where the bedspread/blanket looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in 10 years and the extra pillows in the closet were lying on the floor. We did, however, meet other guests who were lovely and friendly and had lots of fun in Providence.
We called in a reservation for the Samuel Priest room, was told it was available for both nights of stay, and placed the reservation. On our way down, we knew we would be arriving late and kept the hotel (spoke with Andy, the owner) informed of our ETA. Upon arrival, we were given a different room, on the top floor, with an air conditioner that failed to cool the room to a manageable temperature. We gave it a couple hours to see if the situation improved, but ultimately could not stay the night and had to leave. The bathroom was also inadequately cleaned, I found hair pins on the floor and eyelashes in the sink when we first walked in. Called the owner Andy the next morning and he refused to issue a refund. He did offer a different room for our second night's stay but insisted…
