Although it is mostly a retreat for quilters, my scrapbooking group just returned from there. There is not enough room here to list all the great things there. Besides great accommodations for crafting, it’s like being wrapped in a bubble and being taken care of by the most pleasant and generous hosts! The food is wonderful, the facility is spotless and the surroundings are beautiful! I guarantee you won’t want to leave once you are there!

We had a great experience at the Seams like home bed and breakfast! It was our first time to visit a B&B and we loved it. The beautifully decorated, clean rooms and the delicious breakfast. Rick and Donna are great host and go to lengths to make happy customers. We would love to visit again!

My grandmother and I stayed overnight while biking the GAP trail. Making a last minute reservation about 10pm the night before we left for that section of the trail, we decided we would wing it and bike there after getting off the trail in Connellsville. After we fell behind our estimated arrival time, Rick began to call us out of concern periodically for about two hours until we finally heard the phone ringing. We informed him of where we were and that we would be there soon. When we arrived he had his truck running and was just about to head out and come find us, knowing the roads were quite risky in places to ride on. After making sure we caught our breath and wouldn't collapse, he gave us a tour of the BnB and gave us a bit of history about each room and making us feel at home. From providing Scrabble for us to play in the evening to making a superb breakfast and accommodating for my dietary restrictions, Donna and Rick really outshone all expectations. They radiated the spirit of hospitality and truly seemed to take a joy out of getting to know each of the guests personally, right down to memorizing our names and exchanging family history and stories. Definitely ask them about their journey of creating the retreat center. You are in for a real treat! If you have any questions, just ask them! They are an incredible couple. Make sure to get your room using their website's booking system. Also, they have a free shuttle service and accommodate for bikers! (We found this out only after we arrived because I failed to read through the webpage thoroughly.) Definitely take advantage of it unless you are confident biking country roads with a high speed limit and can climb a hill that has over a 10% grade. P.S. If you take the shuttle, ask Rick two things: 1. To take the scenic route on the way back to Connellsville 2. The window. He will know what you mean :)

My friend and I stayed May 27, 2022 following a GAP bike trip and enjoyed a good sleep and breakfast. Rick will pick you up in his truck at the trail because its a long uphill ride to Seams from Connelsville. The home is very quiet and the beds/bath were fine.

Stayed at Seems like Home B&B and it sure enough seemed like home. Beautiful B&B operated by beautiful, caring folks. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast, all homemade for 10, was delicious and plentiful. This private B&B was easy to find using GPS and conveniently located to our activities and future excursion. Thank you fir making us feel so welcomed. We will certainly look you up if we’re ever staying in the area again.

We were biking the GAP Trail and the C&O Trail. When we called Rick, the owner, he suggested a good restaurant in Connellsville and then came with his trailer to pick us up and take us to his fabulous retreat. The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was delicious. And, after breakfast Rick once again shuttled us back to the trail. It was a wonderful experience with gracious hosts and delicious food. We recommend Seams Like Home to anyone biking through.

What a wonderful stay on a cold winter day! We had a great time. The owners were very friendly and accommodating without hovering over us. The breakfast was HUGE! And we had the whole place to ourselves. The tub was really spacious, so make time for a nice long hot soak. The owner built us an outdoor fire and we say around it drinking wine and talking. It was nice. Romantic and comfortable. Great Christian couple owns it. They also do quilting. The quilts are amazing.

We made last moment plans to go white water rafting in the Ohiopyle/Laurel Highlands area. A call to an expensive resort was a turndown. All the lovely homes built by Frank Lloyd Wright were booked solid. We widened our search and came across Donna and Rick's super clean, well maintained and appointed B&B. Our 2 rooms shared a large jack.n.jill which had a spacious tub with multiple jet sprays - we stuck to the walk in enclosed shower. Donna owns 2 stores in the Uniontown area - a quilting supplies-cum-workshop and a clothing alteration business. The couple have owned the B&B for about 10 years. Rick informed us that the original structure was gutted and designed to accommodate a spacious upper level B&B and a lower lever residence for the inn keepers. The upper level has a large area for quilting workshops. Guests have access to well appointed kitchen and lounge with a pool table, TV, couches and many of Donna's quilts to keep them warm and comfy. We stayed 2 days - on Sunday we had a full house at the breakfast table. The breakfast was sufficient to power you for the day ahead. On our next day we were the only guests, which allowed Rick to toss out a customized egg breakfast. the B&B is located in the rolling countryside of SW PA dotted with cattle farms. Closer to the B&B there are prominent white on blue roadside signs that guide you to turn on the approach road which was very helpful. Having breakfast with 3 other couples who came from different walks of life was one an A plus of our stay. We saved a good deal of money by avoiding some of the more expensive lodging in the Laurel Highlands area. Money has its own mind - our savings on lodging resulted in 2 quilts made my Donna and her fellow quilters that we took home. Donne recalled that this is not the first time guests have gone home quilt-laden - a lady architect from Mumbai, India stayed with Donna - and now Donna's handiwork adorns the walls of the architect's Mumbai office. We wish Donna Rick and the B & B a long life. Let's say we pumped a good amount of money in the local economy but we are not guilt-laden at this small splurge, but rather 2 quilt-laden. It was well worth it. We are better for having visited a part of rural USA that is somewhat off the beaten path.

Really enjoyed the stay. Seams Like Home did seem like home for the weekend. The innkeepers were very nice and welcoming, showed us the place, and made delicious breakfast both days, and helped us plan our activities during the stay. Very nice atmosphere. Nice outdoor area and lounge with TV and board games. Location is great - tucked away in the woods in a place that feels very secluded. But then it's not too far from the road and only a few miles from Connellsville. ~30 min drive to Ohiopyle. The trip was a great break from the everyday life and felt very compatible with good social distancing. Overall very happy with the place.
