First time in Pittsburgh and the Hotel Monaco was an excellent choice for my 3 nights in the city, it's a super hotel in a great location, the rooms are gorgeous, the staff are wonderful and I really enjoyed my stay. Arrived late in the evening from London on the British Airways flight , I was checked in promptly and allocated a room on the 8th floor which was also a upgrade and it was lovely. As the hotel bar was about to close, reception pointed me to the Tap Room at the William Penn hotel next store for a night cap as it's open until 1 , it was a good recommendation and I appreciated it . The room was just amazing , the bed was super comfortable with the best hotel pillows I have slept on in a long time and the attention to detail was spot on. Everything seemed tailor made and in keeping with what you would expect from a Kimpton. From the birdcage light to the wallpapered closet with robes and an umbrella and the superb blackout curtains, it was all spotlessly clean and well looked after. It was a haven of tranquility and I slept very well. The bathroom was bigger than my kitchen at home and I loved the free standing tub and there was also a shower. The towels were soft and the shower gels and shampoo smelt very luxurious, plenty of counter space for all your toiletries - perfect. Morning coffee was available on the mezzanine level and it was also home to the wine hour ( beer & waters too) between 5-6 every day with some complimentary nibbles too, a nice chance to met fellow guests and chat to the staff - my wine glass was topped up before they cleared away at 6 which was sweet of them. Everything is walkable from the hotel and the area felt perfectly safe at night. The staff were all amazing and are a credit to the hotel, I cannot recommend the hotel enough.

The décor in this hotel was some of the best I've ever seen. I loved the green headboards, the yellow hound's-tooth wall in the bathroom and matching black hounds- tooth curtains in the room, the green/blue mirror and matching color chair, the bedside table - everything. The hallways were beautiful floral. It really made you feel like you were in a luxury home and not a hotel. The lobby was also attractive. The lighting was wonderful. I loved that it wasn't stark and bright like most hotels. You could dim it to the level you wanted. The beds seemed fairly new and were comfortable. The pillows were great because they were not limp but not overstuffed or too firm like a lot of hotel pillows. The room was quiet and cozy. Temperature control worked well. I loved the toiletries provided in the shower. They smelled divine and were luxurious. I loved the birdcage lampshade. Just everything was decorated perfectly. The attention to detail was amazing. I felt so relaxed at this hotel. Would definitely stay again. Front desk very responsive. We asked for extra blankets and they were delivered immediately. VERY nice hotel!

I went here with my brother as the last stop on a long road trip, and it was a great place to stop. It's a very luxurious place to be, and a far cry from the Hyatt Places we'd been staying in. We were greeted with glasses of wine (though we had to self park in a garage about a block away since the valet was full). It's in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, which is a great area in its own right, and walking around is easy and enjoyable. Rooms were well appointed, quiet, and comfortable. There is a rooftop hangout area/bar, but we didn't end up going. You do have to pay for all of your meals - I think breakfast at least should be complimentary at this price point. No pool either, but that's not uncommon for a hotel in an old downtown area. Overall, it's a comfortable, luxurious hotel.

Kimpton Hotels are generally stylish. The decor here is a bit off-putting/unattractive. Housekeeping did a decent job and our room was a good size and comfortable. There is no evening turn down service. Particularly chintzy is the fact that if you ask for a bottle of water there is a $5 charge.

What a great hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by the reception staff, the hotel decor was fantastic throughout. All parts of the hotel were clean, our room, a king corner room was spotlessly clean and made up on a daily basis by the housekeeping staff. The bed was so comfy, lots of power sockets around the room. Complementary tea and coffee was available in a morning. Complementary alcoholic drinks were served between 5 &6pm each evening by the staff in the lounge area. A great touch to meet other residents in a relaxed atmosphere. We stayed at the Pittsburgh Kimpton Hotel for 8 nights and could have stayed for longer.

We visited over Labor Day weekend and it was hands down one of the best hotel experiences we've had. They were so accommodating with our dog which is always a major consideration for us (and no pet fees! Huge bonus!) and made sure to bring up a bed and they had bowls if we needed them and poop bags at the desk in case we forgot one when we went out. It's a beautifully designed hotel as well. They had a PM happy hour with complimentary drinks and the entire staff provided excellent service! We self-parked just down the block and saved a ton over valet. The food was excellent in the restaurant for a nice dinner and breakfast as well. Easily walkable to nearby activities (even though we opted to Uber to the Pirates game) We made another reservation for an upcoming visit even though our out of pocket cost was a bit higher. Can't recommend enough!

Located in the central business district of Pittsburg, across from Mellon Square Park, is the boutique Kimpton Hotel Monaco. My spacious King City View dwelling was appreciated, which featured large windows and a desk that assisted accomplish my business chores. A funky ceramic penguin served as a take on the Pittsburg hockey team and more quirkiness was revealed in a eye-popping lime green headboard. The Commoner eatery served up a twist on American tavern classics with a great variety of craft beers, creative cocktails and assorted wines. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily as well as a weekend brunch. I love the porkchops. The biergarten, a seasonal rooftop facility popular with guests and locals alike, serves up beer and light snacks. Anthropologie, one of my favorite stores, has an outlet at the Kimpton as well as freebies in the form of Pet Amenities and Bikes. So, if you want a pet friendly property that puts you close to must-see attractions.........then try the..........Kimpton Hotel Monaco...........A stylish Beaux-Art spectacle.

Not quite what i expected from a Kimpton Hotel. No coffee making ability in rooms, no room service menu in room, or on tv you have to go to website where i was told menu may not be current but they could offer suggestions. No receipt given with food delivery and it's no wonder. On-line menu says burger is $19 + 5 (for fries) but in reality it's $27 + $5 fries+ &5 delivery+$5.40 tip + tax. so the $24 burger i expected cost $39. I wouldn't have delivered a receipt either and if i had known i was spending $40 on a burger i would have gone down to the Westin and had a good burger for less. Also they can kinda offer dry cleaning services but only on certain days and it has to be at front desk (depending on who tells you) either before 7am or night before and don't ask for a form/slip to fill out they don't have any. The process is to write your name on a piece of paper and put it into your bag. Of course with no form you have no idea as to price.. See a pattern... To be fair evening crew at front desk are very nice and helpful. Wish that offset more than it does.

Beautiful facility, outstanding staff. The rooftop bar is so nice, as is the complementary happy hour from 5p-6p. The room was lovely, well appointed and spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfortable! Definitely would stay here again.
