Exceptional hospitality, delicious breakfast, beautiful home, super comfortable bed, great landscaping, wonderful quiet neighborhood for walks, close proximity to lots of restaurants, stores, and parks. The host has a great personality and three lovely and chill dogs. Will definitely be coming back. Sonia and Tim

We stayed for one night (10-25-2022). Our experience was excellent. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating; the house is eclectic and charming; and the breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely go back there the next time we are visiting that area of PA. I agree with another reviewer who wrote, "Truly a hidden gem, situated in a beautiful neighborhood..."

Apelhof is the most unusual and special bed and breakfast i have had the experience of visiting in a long time. i would go again in a heartbeat. Roland, the owner, is supremely attentive. Our room, which had it's own entrance, was HUGE--the master grand suite- and completely comfortable. the building was quiet and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. Food for breakfast, cooked to order, was excellent. Sitting at a long handcrafted table together with the other guests (less than 10) engendered great discussions to start the day. We stayed 2 nights and regretted that we didn't book for longer. thank you, roland!

My wife and I stayed at the Alpenhof this past weekend. It was magical. The Alpenhof is a uniquely beautiful bed and breakfast. Upon arrival, our breath was taken away by the stonework, the stained glass windows, the the gardens, and the exterior lighting. Our room was tastefully appointed, immaculately clean, and completely comfortable. However, the best part of our visit were our hosts, Roland and his wife. They made us feel thoroughly at home, they helped with suggestions on local sights and made us the most delicious breakfasts. What a great experience. We loved our time at the Alpenhof and plan to return in the near future.

Staying here was a treat; the owners are very friendly with interesting backgrounds, breakfast was delicious, beautiful grounds. We stayed in the master suite which was very roomy. Its in a lovely rural area. recommend a walk in Ridley State Park, about 2 miles away.

My family suggested we stay at Alpenhof B&B instead of a hotel while in PA. Best advice ever! Upon arrival, the owner greeted us and said he enjoyed my siblings who just stayed there 3 weeks earlier. He gave us a tour of the grand master suite, and the rest of the charming home. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. We met a long time TV personality at breakfast too. He could stay anywhere but stays there. He said he has been there many times. We stayed two nights and were sorry to leave. Why stay anywhere else?

Truly a hidden gem, situated in a beautiful neighborhood with lots of interesting historic homes, but Alpenhof stands out even among all of those. I had a busier trip than I originally planned, so even though I didn’t get to enjoy the gorgeous gardens and delicious breakfast as much as I wanted, I absolutely hope to come back and enjoy both much more someday. Everyone is super friendly, the rooms are so unique, and the whole property really shows how much detail and thought has been put into everything. Tip — pack light if you’re in one of the smaller rooms so you have more space to enjoy! (I’m a chronic overpacker so don’t be like me). Highly recommend!

An amazing getaway! We were only 90 minutes from home but felt like we were a plane ride away. The home is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was very good and they offered a menu which was nice. Walking the gardens in the morning was a piece of heaven. Good restaurants, parks and stores only minutes away. We will be back!

Loved the beautiful gardens and the relaxing atmosphere! Roland and Anh were excellent hosts, personable, and super attentive! They were very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and was made to order! The bed was super comfortable. The room was spacious and the decor was eclectic. The stained glass, pottery, and art is all from local artists. The gardens on the property rivaled Longwood with the rock garden in full bloom. This was located a few miles from Media, Chanticleer Gardens, and Villanova, which made it a perfect stay for graduation weekend. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in the area.
