My friend and I enjoyed Alpenhof, located in an excellent quiet location, yet in close proximity to Philadelphia. The swimming pool is a definite plus in the summer. The garden/ grounds were lush and beautiful, and the B&B is an amazing converted barn with eclectic furnishings. Delicious breakfast with a choice of menu items. The waffles were amazing! Our room was comfortable with what appeared to be a newly remodeled bathroom. Lovely hosts who made our stay memorable. Highly recommend this B&B.
We were greeted by the sweetest little dog when we arrived and we very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. It has a very Arts & Crafts feel to it, with nature and natural elements all around you. Beautiful landscaping, nice pool, phenomenal breakfast, comfy beds and pillows, and just up the road (turn right as you leave) is the parking area for our favorite walk along the creek in Ridley Creek State Park. Everything was super clean, and Roland could teach hospitality classes, he was the nicest Bed and Breakfast owner I have ever met. If you are a dog owner there is only one room you can book (the cottage). We stayed in the main house and it was quiet and very relaxing. We had dinner outdoors in the garden at Byrsa Bistro in Glen Mills, which was really good. We will be back.…
I just returned from a lovely stay at Alpenhof Bed, Breakfast and Gardens, on Ridley Creek Road in Media, Pa. This was my first time at the Inn, and there will certainly be more visits ahead for me. From the moment I approached the check-in area, I knew I already loved the place. The owner, Roland Muller is a perfect host. He greeted me kindly, and showed me my room. Each room is named after a family member. I stayed in the "Otto" room. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom has state of the art features, which I loved. After I got settled, I decided to take a walk to see the entire place. The interior of the Inn looks like a museum. There is so much to see and appreciate. The outdoor area is exquisite. The gardens are gorgeous, and the pool area is just beautiful. To top it all off, breakfast was phenomenal. You get a menu to choose your entree, along with fresh fruit, freshly baked muffin and scones, and delicious coffee. I felt completely rejuvenated after my trip to Alpenhof! What a breath of fresh air in a hidden oasis!! I cannot wait to return!!🤗…
Everything about this Bed and Breakfast is exceptional. I stayed in the Cabin and the Grand Master Suite, and both were the height of comfort. Roland, the owner, bends over backwards to make sure every guest feels personally cared for and is happy. The grounds are gorgeous, the setting is peaceful and serene, and the breakfast is beyond amazing, filled with homemade treats like scones, doughnuts, and muffins, as well as eggs, bacon, yogurt, and fruit. Honestly, my entire stay at the Alpenhof was a joy beginning to end, and it was only made better by the presence of Roland's three big, beautiful dogs, including Lola, who's an absolute love. There are not enough possible stars to adequately express how much I want to rave about this Bed and Breakfast.
When you first drive up to the grand, old stone building, it's quite amazing. Inside is just as much a treat, as the innkeepers have made it a warm and interesting environment with many objects from around the world. Everything possible is done for your comfort. It was a warm day and Roland had set the air conditioner to keep it nicely cool. There were excellent toiletries in the bathroom, beautiful linens on the bed, water bottles on the desk, and in the entrance foyer there were a variety of high end teas and coffee you could enjoy whenever you pleased. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic--and this is from someone who has stayed at many high end B and Bs. Roland and his wife are charming. It's just a great place--and I will definitely return.
