The Toukley Motor Inn offers old fashioned service that seems to be forgotten in this ever changing modern world. Yes!, we still deliver your breakfast to your room at your unit at your requested time. Our breakfasts arrive with your toast, still warm, home-made fruit salad, and cleanliness is our number one objective.
this motel is great for overnight. we had 3 nights. it was clean and a bit small but nice bed and parking outside room. we didnt have hot water for a couple of nights but they got onto it and fixed the problem. there are no cooking facilities but a toaster kettle and microwave was great.its walking distance to coles and other shops a good location.

We had a great stay at 3bedroom apartment. Very spacious to accomodate our large family, though layout of the bedrooms is abit weird. Plenty of parking and good location (near shops etc). Lovely views of the lake from the huge balcony.

But smelly! I'm not sure if the bad smell was the motel or a stagnant odour from the nearby lake. At least being winter we didn't want to open the door or any windows. The room was fairly standard, the thai restaurant opposite had good food and it was definitely quieter than Beachies on a Saturday night.

The king size bed was very comfortable and the room was nice, clean and tidy when we arrived. A great location for us as we were on shank’s pony, it was handy to shopping, restaurants, cafes and the bus stop. The only disappointment was that despite placing the ‘please make up the room’ sign on the door we noticed that this wasn’t done to a particularly high standard. The bed was made and towels changed however the bathroom hand basin definitely wasn’t cleaned as evidenced by the remains from shaving (him) and make up application (me) upon our return in the evening. Regardless we enjoyed our stay in Toukley, especially the discovery of the nice wee wool/fabric shop.

Stayed one night on our way south. The only positive was a comfortable bed. The place needs a really good scrub. The bed spread was dirty. I pulled the chairs out from under the table and they had not been vacuumed in a long time. I found a coin, and hair band and lots of crumbs. There were no plugs for either the bathroom or kitchen sink. The cold water in the shower didn’t operate.... luckily the hot water wasn’t too hot.

Stayed 1 night on our way back to Sydney. We just stopped there hoping to find a room available. We were given one of the rooms at the rear, so no traffic noise to speak of. Room itself was pretty basic with brick face walls, but was tidy and clean. For $110 we got a queen size bed, desk, small lounge and usual coffee/tea making facilities. Unfortunately the bed was just too soft for me, being a rather soft but thick sponge mattress and spring base. The only other thing was the hot water took ages to come in, so major waste of water waiting. Other than this, motel was in a good location with several restaurants and cafes within 500m.

Called to book 2 rooms for 1 Sunday night (October long weekend) to attend a family reunion - no worries. Got a call back half hour later asking if we would take a 3 bedroom apartment for the same price - again, as we are all family, no worries. Arrived at around 11:15am Sunday and the office was locked. After a couple of minutes a lady (owner?) must have heard us and came to advise that check in wasn't 'til 2:00pm and if we wanted to check in earlier we should have said so when booking 'cos the rooms were still being cleaned. I said that was OK and we didn't need to check in, but because we had a reunion to attend that evening and didn't know what time we'd be back, I just wanted to pick up the key. While sorting out the paperwork I asked about ordering breakfast and was told I could do it then or any time up 'til 10:00pm. I decided to leave it 'til later, got the key and off we went to the reunion. Got back to the motor inn at around 7:30pm - office locked and no sign of anyone around (except other guest vehicles in the car parks). Thought that strange but just took our gear up to the apartment room. We were amazed at the size of it. We could have held the reunion there and still had room to spare. It was pretty impressive I must say - a massive entrance room, sparsely but adequately furnished, with a large TV, lounge/coffee table set up and a basic kitchen with a fridge, microwave and the usual cups, plates, jug, satchel coffee/tea/milk, etc. It was a bit of a chilly night so the A/C was switched on and it was very good - warmed the place up nicely and quickly. Off this main room were the 3 bedrooms and they were as you would expect of a motel, decent size with decent beds, side tables, bedside lights, clothes storage and so on. You do have to walk through the first bedroom to access the others, plus the toilet and bathroom, but that wasn't a concern for us. Also off the main room was a large balcony, with an outdoor setting for 6-8, that faced the main road. Very nice. We decided to head off to the local RSL as it was ARL Grand Final night and we thought we'd also get a bite to eat. On leaving, the office was still locked and no-one around so thought we'd organise the breakfast orders later and off we went. Returned just after 9:30pm and once again the office was locked and no-one was around. As we were tired and in need of bed (which were comfy enough) we decided we'd get breakfast somewhere after we checked out the next day. Went to have a shower the following morning around 7:00am and the hot water tap was busted - it just turned and turned (both ways). Went downstairs and....office locked and no one around. Couldn't believe it. Called the motor inn's number and explained the situation and also that we had to leave to get home. Were told that someone would be 'right up' and 10 minutes later a man (owner?) arrived with a wrench. He fiddled with the tap for 2 minutes and couldn't fix it so said he'd have to get someone in and have it fixed in a little while. We explained that we had to leave and asked if we would get some sort of discount as a result of not being able to use the shower. He said we already had a discount on the apartment room price and left taking the shower tap fitting and wrench with him. We also left, un-showered, and on returning the key, surprise, surprise, office locked and no-one around - this was around 8:00am. On account of three things: 1. Never saw the office open or anyone in attendance 2. Never got to order/eat breakfast 3. Never got to shower ….we were extremely disappointed. As I suggest, the apartment room was pretty sensational. I would say it would probably be an excellent place to stay for a decent sized group for a couple/few nights - you could really make a 'home' of it. However, under the circumstances and conditions in which we found ourselves. I have to rate the overall experience as poor - it was close to terrible.…

Our room was at the rear of the motel courtyard, so road noise was minimal. The rooms had obviously been redecorated recently but with a slightly unusual palette of colours. The floor had a type of lino tiles, different to the usual carpet, but it was a bit cool on bare feet! There was no luggage rack nor a space for one, and as the table had a glass top our luggage couldn't be placed there! The room was spacious and there was even a padded top mattress for very comfortable sleeping. Our room also had free wi-fi. Not sure where the hot water storage was located but it took AGES to get hot water to our ensuite - quite a waste of water every time.

After reading earlier reviews was a bit apprehensive about my visit but I think ownership has changed in the last couple of years or there has been a major refurbishment as this is really quite a nice little motel. Rooms are clean and spacious. Everything works well. Parking is directly outside the room. Appliances in room are new and bed is really comfy. My only small complaint is there is no crockery or cutlery, aside from the coffee cups. Internet is fast and reliable and this is a good affordable option for a short stay.
