We loved celebrating NYE over three nights at Sponars Chalet. We found the location perfect for hiking, mountain-bike riding and within close proximity to jindabyne. Our room was comfortable, clean and boasted a beautiful view of the Alpine landscape. Rosemary and Eric were extremely hospitable, helpful and we found the service outstanding. We strongly recommend a trip to Sponars Chalet.

Enjoyed 3 nights over new year. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed and bed linen were very good quality and the shower nice and hot. Food healthy and plentiful. Enjoyed mixing with other guests in the lounge. Eric and Rosemary full of good advice about activities including arranging bikes. Recommend.

Sponars Chalet is a rustic, old-school style ski house with plenty of charm and comfort just a few minute's drive from the Perisher ski car park. Rosemary and her team were very accommodating and friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was! We were left with full tummies after every meal and there were plenty of GF options too. The trivia night was also a highlight. Would definitely stay again.

So on the good side - great location, nice pool. However let down by confused marketing - designed for families or bunches of lads? No wifi. Tired rooms in need of upgrades and better plumbing, and most of all, management who don’t know how to manage a dining room - people were left waiting for over 30 mins at every meal just to place a breakfast or dinner order - overheard one young couple bring berated by the owner/manager Rosemary for not speaking up after being ignored by staff incapable of taking dinner orders, for an hour, manager more interested in taking orders for $$ drinks and $5 coffees rather than food orders (meals included in the price). All in all the poor management leaves a bad impression- with somebody in charge who knows how to run things this could be a lovely place to stay...

Thanks for taking the time to review our Chalet. It's interesting about your comment "tired rooms" as before you arrived all 35 rooms have been repainted , supplied with new linen and furnished with new beds. Since your stay we have taken your review into consideration and ordered 14 new fridges for the larger rooms and new bedside tables and drawers. It is a historical building in the national park without mobile coverage, we do have WIFI available for as little as $5. Thanks for your feed back we'll take it into consideration when training our new team for next year.

The hosts Rosemary and Eric were very friendly and welcoming. The full board breakfast and dinner was great and very filling. We made good use of the ski hire, pool and free shuttle to the slopes and back. Friday nights are fancy dress night, be sure to bring an outfit and get yourself on the Sponars fame wall. Sponars is a perfect location and we highly recommend anyone staying here.Thank you Eric, Rosemary, Nicole and Kenny you all played a part in making out stay a memorable one. Our two year old daughter had a ball for her first time skiing and building snowman's in front of sponars. We will definitely visit again.
