Great Location right on the river and so so quiet, but......although clean and tidy it does need some TLC & A LOT of improvement with staff and how it is managed. Maybe some decent completion in the area would do it she good. If it had a good gym and spa would maybe consider going back frequently for much needed R & R each year.

13yrs on and showing its age Premium Studio, great river outlook, pleasant and helpful staff. 90’s style ambience and space Positives • Check in outstanding Jan 28 through Feb 2 • Dining and bar staff very good at what they do • Standard Dinner menu/ Specials: practical options. Venues very popular with varying night-time activities • Golf Club café and staff excellent t. Letdowns • patchy, extremely poor and lazy housekeeping standards • lovely former stylish bathroom diminished by extensive lateral cracks in en suite sink, • Breakfast Sat' morning cold, returned and a look from the so called “Cook” enough to curdle milk. • Lodge entry says everything! Gardens need repair/maintenance, pathways littered with tree debris no attempt to clean for apparently weeks incl' cigarette litter. • The employed gardener cover entire Roche location. Diligent faced with overwhelming task. The foundation initiatives a distant precept; apparently lost on today's administration website statement: “an uncompromising commitment to quality’ . Our stay was externally sourced and the pricing offered saved the day. Would we visit again? -probably; because It was overall fair value if you are prepared to put up with the shabby shortfalls we experienced. We asked ourselves how, now retired, Imelda and Bill would do if confronted first-hand with what we experienced. We think that is what has to happen. Imelda and Bill make a shadow -shop visit and resurrect the quality that should be a Roache standard. …

Fantastic place to stay. This is our 4th visit and never disappointed. Lovely room with spa and spectacular view of river. Irish restaurant on site is a must for meals and drinks (great cocktails served by fantastic staff). Nice and quiet with parking. Will definitely be back

Rooms are very spacious, clean and well appointed, including upmarket toiletries. There was also complimentary water bottles on arrival. Beautiful gardens, good sized pool and handy walk to the Irish Pub next door made for great stay.
