Not the most appealing looking hotel on the outside but inside much better. A relaxed hotel rather than plush. Hotel had been closed for a couple of weeks and clearly hadn't been checked that everything was working again before reopening. Draught beer wasn't available. TVs weren't switched on and was difficult to get to the switch. Food in The Herring was very good although possibly not enough choice for some people. Only one meat dish to choose from which both evenings was red meat which isn't for everyone. Pretty small portions too. Probably the worst thing for us was the breakfast buffet. Lovely continental selection but had to pay extra for hot choice. The buffet was all open for people to touch and breathe over. We witnessed a young boy tough several loaves of bread before deciding which one to cut. Hands all over it plus putting things up to his mouth and then back down again. I felt somebody should be observing this as clearly the parents didn't want to help him. Put us off eating anything since COVID is still prevalent. Our final bill was completely wrong as had been charged for our second night even though we had paid in advance. This was eventually rectified but didn't appreciate a service charge being added on a pre paid meal!! Much to prefer to tip the relevant staff as we feel fit. Would we return. Probably not tbh.…
Wild Cafe Restaurant. Wild & well OVERPRICED food for a poor portion in a pretty dismal concrete bunker of a restaurant. Perhaps the daytime view over the beach would have improved things. My opinion : the pork belly (Wolfish £18), although tasty, was more pork loin than belly. The mash potato (Bit on the side £6) was over spiced/flavoured with "things (herbs, butter, cream perhaps)" it didn't much taste like potato at all & was never a large enough portion to share for 2 (as we were advised). However, the chips (£5) were excellent if overpriced ....a potato for £5 ...are you having a laugh? (well, yes you are at my expense). I would definitely not bother again.
We booked the Twixtmas package for my Husband's Birthday and we had a wonderful time. A few highlights: - The view. When they said "sea-view", they were not kidding. I could have stayed in bed all day gazing out over the ocean! We also watched the sunset over the sea in the bar. it was absolutely breath-taking! - The staff. From reception to the spa and the bar and restaurants, the staff were all lovely. Efficient, friendly and thoughtful. An absolute credit to the hotel. - The Food. We ate in both of the restaurants for breakfast, dinner and had one afternoon tea. Everything was delightful- well presented, tasty and memorable. - The Spa. Really lovely- the pool was separated from the adults area with the hot tub and steam room, etc which was such a great idea as it meant you could actually relax in there. They also have this fabulous sensory spa garden which was a really unique experience. The hotel was beautifully clean and efficiently run. We would definitely love to come back in the summer when we could also take advantage of the access to the beach. Highly recommended. …
We booked the New Year package at the Bedruthan and the trip was excellent. A great location, plenty of friendly staff on hand throughout the period, amazing food included, the spa was good, and a really spacious sea view room. The food items in the room were delicious and a really nice addition too. On NYE there was a very good band and it was easy to get drinks from the bar throughout the night. The firework display was again really good. Overall a great stay, and a great way to end 2022 and start 2023.
A wonderful relaxing 3 day New Years retreat. The hotel has it all - incredible location and views, superb helpful staff, wonderful facilities and food, and a magnificent spa. The vibe is relaxing and very special. Very highly recommended.
Just returned from a 3 night New Year stay at the Bedruthan and loved every minute of it. The service was brilliant from the moment we arrived. Our family sea view apartment was great and the welcome ‘tuck box’ of goodies was very generous. The dog was made very welcome and allowed in most places in the hotel. The kids loved the soft play and the swimming pool and even had the chance to use the sensory spa garden which they loved. The food was superb and the staff so welcoming and friendly. One of the ladies even got me the recipe for the banana bread from the kitchen when I said I liked it. We would recommend it highly and will definitely be back.
A relaxing stay for all the family Our Christmas break was fabulous. Staff welcoming and helpful, food absolutely delicious and very comfortable beds. Our dog enjoyed herself very much. The whole stay was fabulous.
We had a sea view room which was lovely, and the double monsoon shower was AMAZING I could have stayed in there all day! I have mainly come to write this review to make people aware that this is A VERY child friendly hotel, you may think a spa wouldn't be a popular choice to take children (like we did) but you would be very very wrong. This is not the hotel's fault of course, but it wasn't the romantic, relaxing weekend we thought we had booked. There were children running around everywhere all day and in the bar in the evening. There is a "grown ups only" area in the bar, but it gets quite busy, but the pool was not usable for a swim as it was mobbed with children screaming and splashing around. The spa is also quite average, the facilities are fairly standard and we both had an ok massage. We did however have the most amazing meal in The Herring restaurant, it was 10/10. All of the courses were unreal, the staff were amazing and the wine was perfect. It really was the best meal I have eaten in a long time, maybe ever! Overall we had a good weekend, but just bear in mind that there may be kids running riot everywhere. Particularly if you were looking for a child free weekend away from your own kids, or just don't like them :) Or if you wanted to take your family, then the hotel is perfect. Just wanted to make this point as we hadn't read this on any of the reviews, and spent quite a bit of money on a relaxing night away, which it wasn't really. If you can, splash out and head to The Scarlet.…
My husband and I fell in love with this hotel and have been back twice in one year. The hotel and the facilities are top quality, the views are second to none, the food is delicious and the staff is lovely. The location offers hiking, a dog-friendly beach, water sports or simply relaxing in the spa or the hotel surroundings. It's one of our favourite places in the world.
We have just come back from a 3 night new years eve stay ! We go to Cornwall every new year with friends and stay in a house but decided to do something different. Absolutley amazing stay. Rooms were amazing, location was great with a huge sandy beach within walking distance. Food at the hotel was so good and lots of things for children to do such as play pool , go to the games room and swim in the pool in the spa. Great break and will definitley be returning! Also big shout out to the staff who were incredible especially holly in the bar !! And if you fancy a meal away from the hotel a visit to The Catch down the road is a must!
