Small and friendly campsite situate in the Pentewan Valley, Cornwall, uk. We cater for caravans, campervans, motor homes (limited pitches) and tents of all shapes and sizes. We are a natural meadow site, and dog friendly with a stream running along side. Our shower block is top notch!
For "proper campers" (i.E none electric) we have seclude pitches in our wildflower meadow.
You can walk to Pentewan Sands, Heligan Gardens, Mevagissey and St Austell from the site along the Pentewan Valley Trail. This trail is a cycle trail linking to National Route 3, and for walkers links up to the SWCP. We are also ideally located for visiting the Eden Project and walking the South West Coastal Path.If you want to camp with us but more hassle free we have two vintage caravans "Lottie" and "Mabel"available to rent and kitted out oh so stylishly.
second stay at this site, mike and donna keep the site very clean and tidy, the weather was not on our side this time but we still enjoyed our stay, its right on the cycle trail if you like cycling also only a few minutes walk to the bus stop, the bar area is nice shame its not open more nights, not to much of a problem though you can walk to pentewan village in about 25 minutes through a nice woodland walk beside the river, the only improvement i would like to see would be a drive over waste water point for motorhomes, we will be back for more visits. paul & dawn
Fabulous little site with everything you need. The site owners are very hands on extremely hard working with friendless booming out of there natural personality’s What a little gem. Thanks guys for a great relaxing holiday much needed. See you again Brian Tuxford Happy customer 😁
Have just returned from our 2nd stay on this site and it is just as good if not better .Mike and Donna are perfect hosts , nothing is too much trouble. The showers and toilets are immaculate and remained that way throughout our stay. There is a small shop in reception for essentials , a freezer for guests use as well as phone charging points for those that may need them. Oh and forgot to say a hairdryer in the shower block that really does the job not one of those feeble things that wouldn't dry a feather. The Beach Bar is a great place to enjoy a drink and chat with fellow campers and there is also a secure dog walk for your best friends. The site is in easy reach of the cycle path and costal walks. Heligan Gardens , Pentewan and Mevagissy are within walking/cycling distance. For those that wish to go further afield the bus stop is just up the road. We certainly will return . Thank you Donna and Mike for a very enjoyable camping trip.…
Nice adult only campsite. Facilities were very good and clean. We stayed in a tent and the only downside is that we could not have our car near us to get belongings in and out, which would of helped massively. There is wheelbarrows to use, but we still would of preferred to be nearer to the car especially as the weather was terrible. Overall, nice campsite but only thing would like to see is car next to pitch.
Stayed for a week after a week in Devon. Was greeted by the lovely Donna, who kindly let us relocate to a corner pitch no 6 instead of no 19, which was nearer the road. The overall campsite was great with and so pretty with well matured trees and shrubs and lots of space between pitches to chill. The facilities were good (I would have liked a hair dryer and shelving but managed without) and the services. The location was okay too. We did the trail to beach, where two deers ran out from nowhere into the forest and got buses into Mevagissey and Fowey. Weather could have been better but it didn't stop us using the site bar ! Thanks Donna and Mike. Fingers cross we will return soon.
Stayed this week very nice site adult's only well laid out. Toilet block very nice and clean. The site is along a road but at night very little notice, there is a bar but could be open more often, the TV reception is very poor but just ran I player via laptop with WiFi as very fast and 02 mobile is poor
Just had 4 days stay.the owners were excellent hosts, and very clean and well presented sited.will definitely return in the summer months when alfresco bar and restaurant are fully open, very well laid out with good size pitches.thanks very much for a wonderful stay.
Had a brilliant stay at The Meadows. Michael and Donna were really welcoming and we enjoyed having a few drinks at the bar on site. Couldn’t ask for more location wise - we loved the forest walk to Pentewan beach and the coastal path route to Mevagissey. We’ll definitely stay again!
We stayed at the campsite for 7 nights and it was absolutely perfect. We had an issue before we left and needed to change the type of pitch at last minute and they were very helpful and accommodating. Our pitch was big and spacious. The toilet/shower block was always clean. They looked very modern and the showers were really nice, powerful and hot. Great location, Tesco’s/Asda up the road if needed and Pentewan Beach is about 20 min walk away. Would definitely come back! Thank you so much for a lovely stay 😊
Stayed here for 2 weeks from 4th September 2021 camping . Such a fabulous site, wasn’t sure what to expect as the map doesn’t really give you much of an idea 😀. Lovely spacious pitches , although some are very compacted due to the whole country descending on Cornwall this summer. This did cause us a small problem with a water feature we hadn’t banked on after a night of heavy rain, but the owners couldn’t do enough to help us and even offered us to move pitches, although the thought of moving a set up tent filled me with dread ! Plus we were staying on the pitch next to my parents so decided not to move. No further issues. It’s a very dark site, which is fabulous for stars and you can hire a fire pit to sit round and do some shooting star watching, they even clean it out for you ! The toilets and showers are really clean , and the showers really hot and powerful, although I found it very difficult to get dry after a shower as everywhere was wet, maybe either a duck board or a shower curtain would help. They use a tag system on a board outside for the toilet/showers which saves you walking in to find all in use , you could just see from the board outside, it worked well except for the odd people who couldn’t be bothered to use it. There is also a one way system in place which was great The alfresco bar in the centre of the campsite was really lovely, it was a great way to chat to people and enjoy a drink in the evening. It closes before 10pm and was totally silent most nights by 10.15. Drinks were really reasonable and I enjoyed some lovely cocktails. The site is really well placed for visiting just about anywhere in Cornwall, we had some fabulous days out, st Michaels mount, port Issac and padstow to name just a few, Rick steins fish and chips are amazing! There is a lovely walk to pentewan through the woods or along the river, the ship inn serves lovely food, and there is a slightly tougher walk to Lobbs farm shop, which trust me is a must if you stay here, I walked it once then drove after but I’m unfit 🤪 The owners of this site are really lovely and are always looking for ways to improve things, I love the simplicity of the site I just hope it doesn’t lose its charm but wish them every success and hope to return in the future. …
