My family and I have had such a lovely holiday, one of many stays at Tregongeeves farm cottages. We are always made exceptionally welcome, every one is very genuine and friendly. The cottages are immaculate, cosy, very well equipped, and decorated beautifully for the Christmas period. An ideal location in Cornwall, so peaceful and surrounded by countryside, our highlights are feeding Gary the goat he is so lovable, walking straight into the field to the donkeys and Shetlands who are always keen to say hello. Perfect for young children, my toddler is easily entertained all day long with such fantastic facilities, dog friendly too. Thank you again Judith and John for such wonderful times.
So... To be clear I am the type of person that only wants to go on holiday abroad usually, however! We have been to Tregongeeves twice in last 12-months and will be booking straight away to go back again after returning today. We first stayed at corner Cottage last year and have just returned from staying in hedgerows. This place really is special, the cottages are very comfortable and have every possible amenity you can think of that you would need for children such as baby gates baby monitors toys etc. All of the kitchen equipment and bedding and Furnishings or high quality and everything just feels like it's been really thought out and is spotlessly clean. My daughter was beside herself for the excitement at the swimming pool, the soft play, feeding the animals and the playground. Everywhere is kept so so beautifully on Judith and John couldn't do enough to help. The animals are very tame and my daughter loves helping Judith feed them. We found the cottages to be perfectly situated and we went to the Lizard, Mousehole, the North Coast and popped to Mevagissey a few times too which is beautiful. Thanks so much for another amazing holiday we absolutely have the blues now we have returned!! X…
Our third visit to date and just as enjoyable as the first two. Stayed in Hedgerow Cottage which is the ideal size for 2 adults and dog. everything you need is provided, the welcome pack is excellent and the cream tea is gorgeous. Try the pies in the fridge of the playroom (local butcher) and the Polgooth Arms does great food and is a easy walk. The pool can be booked for an hour, so you get single use, which works really well. We will be returning.
We have just returned from a week staying in Donkey Mill and can honestly say it was amazing. The cottage was so clean and equipped with everything you could need and more! The grandchildren loved the swimming pool, recreation room and feeding the animals. Judith and John are great hosts. We will be back Kim and Steve
10/10 we stayed in Donkey mill. When we arrived our cottage it was so clean and fresh. The kitchen had everything we needed and we all felt at home straight away. Beds are comfy and bathrooms where really clean. The garden was lovely with lots of seating and amazing views. You can also see the sheep & Donkeys from your garden. Great for kids as they have lots of animals to feed twice/three times in the week you can meet Judith to go and feed the animals with the children. Tregongeeves is so easy to find, also has a pub with in walking distance too. John & Judith were so welcoming and friendly. 100% will be back.
Our third stay here and honestly I could not recommend it enough. My daughter has grown up holidaying here. The first time as an 18m old and now as a 4 year old. It’s a wonderful place for under 5’s, well to be honest it’s an incredible place for any age. We have been joined on holiday by Grandparents and Uncles, Aunties everyone has had the best time We have stayed in Corner House, Hedgerows Cottage, Donkey Mill and Galley all fabulous! Judith and John are the the most kind, friendly people you will ever meet. Nothing is too much trouble at Tregongeeves. You feel like family My daughter has been in the pool and play room daily. Both are brilliant facilities. Clean and safe, non slip walkway around the pool Having the animals on site is really magical, like being on our own little farm. They are all gentle and really enjoy interaction with the ‘humans’ especially if you have a carrot! The cottages are in a great location, easy to drive to many places. We downloaded an app called Iwalk cornwall it’s a cracking way to explore and adventure on foot! Mevagissey is a regular place to visit for us whilst staying here. It’s beautiful! Only a 15 mins drive away We are already excited to book for next year! If you are considering a stay here JUST BOOK IT!!!! You’ll have no regrets…
Everything people write about Tregongeeves is true. These cottages just tick all the boxes, and Judith and John are warm, welcoming hosts who manage the magic trick of always being on hand if you need advice, without ever being remotely intrusive. We visited with our son and daughter in law and two grandchildren and the stay was perfect for all generations. The cottages are pretty, beautifully kept and bandbox fresh. The pool and the recreation room were huge hits with the four year old; especially the princess outfits in the dressing up alcove. Everything was on hand for the six-month old, including the spotless soft play area. We stayed at Donkey Mill Cottage and can honestly say it couldn't have been better equipped - washing machine, dishwasher, big fridge and freezer, every kind of kitchen utensil, comfy beds, proper giant snowy bathtowels, excellent showers. All this - and the animals to feed and groom, donkeys, sheep, hens, pigs, goat, Shetland ponies, all quite safe for children (and granny) to play with and learn about. The cottages are set on a quiet country road, but a good traditional pub is within walking distance, shops are five minutes drive and proper picture- book beaches are just over ten minutes away. Thank you, Judith and John, for a wonderful week - you really have your guests' happiness at heart.…
The best place to stay if you want five star self catering with a twist! The farm animals, the swimming pool, the play rooms and the cottages are just some of the highlights of Tregongeeves. Accommodation is extremely clean, with washing machines/tumble dryers available. Perfect for all ages… we took our two daughters ( aged 5 & 6) and had the best week. Thoroughly recommend.
Really generous hosts. Our children (2 & 5), and us, enjoyed all the facilities. From feeding the animals, to playing on the outdoor equipment, to the inside play rooms and swimming pool. Never stayed anywhere as clean and well equipped. Very quiet too. We had a car free holiday - we took the train to St Austell and a bus to a bus stop about 5 minutes easy walk away. We hired bicycles and cycled via the Pentewan Way to Mevagissey, Heligan Gardens and Pentewan Beach. The route was quiet - only a little hill back on the way home from the trail! But the lane is very quiet back up to the farm. We also got the bus one day to the Eden Project. St Austell was easy to walk to too. Can't recommend enough :) (We stayed in the Gallery)
We recently returned from our first trip to Tregongeeves and are already hoping to go back! We stayed in Donkeymill cottage. The owners had thought of everything for children: high chair, stairgates, cot, sanitised toys, cutlery and bowls etc. The animals on the farm were a brilliant feature for my 20 month old son who just loved visiting them! The cottages are well located for some lovely trips. Because the weather was so good, we didn't end up trying the pool or soft play, but we definitely will next time. Cannot recommend Tregongeeves highly enough!
