I had small fruit flies or gnats swarming my room and bathroom. I could not lay in bed and watch TV without swatting my face regularly. The would fly around me while I was in the bathroom or bathing. I told housekeeping day after day about the problem and no one ever came to do anything about it. Just gross really

The downtown Harrisburg Hilton is a great hotel, with a very nice and well located facility, a very helpful and friendly Staff, clean and spacious rooms, and, of course, the famous “Hilton beds”, which are well known in the travel industry as the best and most comfortable beds around! A great experience!

There was a small dark curly pube in the tub once we arrived to the room and a loose screw in the floor. The floors and walls need some serious updates. I’m pretty sure I saw mold on the ceiling behind the front desk. When we arrived to the hotel the front desk looked less than thrilled to assist us and after acknowledging the first two people at the desk who didn’t do the same in return, we went with the other person to check us in, only to learn that we’re diamond members. She was very pleasant. On arrival, we had to walk down an alley just to get to the front door which was infested with a large homeless population and very uncomfortable. We later learned of a back entrance to avoid the alley that was not very convenient for unfamiliar guests. The breakfast downstairs the following morning was not very tasty, the server was useless and only came by once to check on us and the bartender at the time who may have been a manager was very kind to the surrounding tables and quite accommodating. We however, were overlooked although we were practically sitting in the middle of the room. Once we unpacked our belongings, we had dinner in the hotel and the server was very kind, busy, but attentive.I ordered a burger well done and it came out crispy, it was burnt. On this stay, we were traveling for most of the day as my husband is active duty and was on orders. I expected excellent service as he needed the rest but instead got well beneath that for such a prestigious hotel line. Very disappointing and we will not return.

I was not expecting much based on negative reviews. We arrived and chose valet parking due to walking difficulties, I use a cane while waiting for my knee replacement. Randy was excellent! Unloaded our car onto a cart and told us not to worry, just check in and he woukd bring our luggage to room. He was so professional, courteous, and just plain friendly. He told us the next morning to call and they would come get our luggage and load the car, (we were staying several hours after check out). I cannot say enough positives about the valet service. Well worth the $24.00 plus tips. The room was very clean. The bedding exceptional. Wonderful down pillows, best sleep I have had in ages. Ab Lib restaraunt was very good and service was excellent. Will definately use this Hilton when in Harrisburg in the future.

The hotel is in the heart of Harrisburg. It’s a great location. Parking is extra, which I think is ridiculous. You’re already paying for a room that’s over $250, why do we have to pay an extra $10 for parking? The room was nice, but it smelled like smoke. Front desk wouldn’t accommodate us for a new one. Don’t get the breakfast buffet! It was terrible for $15/pp. everything was cold and I needed tums right after. We stayed on the 11th floor and the only two great things were the sights & the bed.
