We spent two days at Spencer House on a visit for lighthouse tours and wineries. Steve and Lisa have obviously poured their hearts into Spencer House. From Steve's great tour on our arrival to the breakfast we loved our stay. Great location for visiting the Erie area and way better then a chain hotel. I spent over an hour just looking at the woodwork in the house and listening to the lovely little creaks of this grand house. Steve was even kind enough to clear the snow from our truck before we left in the morning to see the lighthouse. The shower in Mary's room is tiny but it is advertised as that on their site and since my wife and I are not large people it was not a problem for us. Next time we will pick the room with the cast iron tub. We will be back again when visiting the area. Thank you Steve and Lisa!!!…
Splendid house, lovely furnishings, authentic, delightful innkeepers, great location, wonderful breakfast, our place to stay when visiting Erie, marvelously preserved, maintained, close to downtown, fairly close to waterfront,
The home was just beautiful. The bed room was large. The house was decorated very nicely and comfortable. The bathroom and all areas of the house were very clean. Breakfast was excellent and Steve and Lisa were very kind. Would like to go back and stay longer.
To celebrate our silver anniversary, we stayed at Spencer House this past week. It continues a tradition of excellent breakfasts, friendly hosts and an environment that is cozy and welcoming. We always enjoy spending our visits here; this time was no different. There is so much to see in the area and Steve and Lisa are able to guide you to restaurants and tourist attractions that match your interests.
My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with lifelong friends and stayed at the Spencer House for a weekend in December. Spencer House is a well-maintained Victorian era house...the woodwork is fantastic! The accommodations were excellent...very clean, comfortable bed...great food. The hosts were very friendly, down to earth people and we enjoyed talking with them. Steve even cleaned the snow off our car! We look forward to going back in spring or summer to enjoy some biking on Presque Isle and sailing. We will definitely stay at Spencer House again!
Well maintained and landscaped home in a convenient location to Presque Isle, "downtown" and wineries in the Northeast. The Captains room was both original and new. The bathroom with jacuzzi was obviously not old while the woodwork and doors were. The owners are friendly yet not intrusive. Breakfasts were varied and reasonably healthy and served in a well appointed dining room. Architecture in the house is unique and all common areas were welcoming and comfortable.
It was our first experience with a B&B. Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The home was beautiful. Hosts were very gracious and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was very nice. It was a wonderful place to stay.
We spent the weekend at the Spencer House where the accommodations were beautiful, the food was amazing, and the hosts were wonderful and very attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend if you are coming to Erie to book your reservation at this quaint B&B.
We found the Spenser house very clean and comfortable, the house is beautiful, especially the room on the left as you enter the front door which is all black walnut. The house is beautiful as well as historical and Steve provided us with some good history of the house and other houses near by, The house is on millionaires row in Erie PA. Our room the presidents suite had a comfortable 4 post king bed. Steve and Lisa were great hosts, breakfast was delicious. The front of the house and front porch were adorned with Mums in planters and hanging baskets, all beautiful and watered with a drip irrigation system, no wasting of the water there. I would stay there again if in the area.
Packed with character and charm, the Spencer House B&B is in a class of its own when it comes to comfort, elegance, and location. Breakfasts were delicious! We really enjoy meeting other guests and sharing experiences with them. We can definitely say that we will stay here again next time we are in Erie. Steve and Lisa made us feel right at home with their warm and gracious hospitality.
