We stayed in one of their mini cottages for 2 nights. Between the super clean accommodations, gracious hosts, and great location we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely come back.
I wouldn't want to stay any other place. The owners are so inviting and work very hard to keep this place incredibly clean and quaint. Sitting Cliffside on Lake Erie to watch the evening sunset, or waking up in the morning to watch the eagles soar above you over the lake has to be one of the greatest pleasures in my life. This place is peace personified. Yet it is close enough to enjoy all the attractions Erie has to offer. Wineries, restaurants, beaches and history. So glad we found this place. We will be here again and again.
We had one of the hotel rooms for 3 nights and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, hosts and gorgeous setting! It is the perfect place to relax, exhale and unwind. We have already recommended Lakeview to others and will definitely return! M & A, Pittsburgh
Charming cozy cabin style room with refrigerator and microwave great for families! We loved enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset over Lake Erie, while our kids entertained themselves on the playground equipment. Families may enjoy spending the night in the Airstream camper or the full size RV on the grounds, and couples or small families may love the cottages. The tranquility of the lakefront setting surrounded by trees, the fun of the playground, the cozy room and the warm service by the owners made for a really relaxing and pleasant stay. We could have stayed at one of the new corporate hotels on Erie Bayfront downtown, but we wanted something more rustic and with a family friendly camp feeling, and we got that at Lakeview on the Lake.
My husband and I stayed here last week for 3 nights and it was wonderful! We were in the romantic suite it was very comfortable and clean, with a kitchenette that had dishes, pans etc.. The bedroom faced the lake and we could see the lake from the bed and the sunsets were spectacular. Our only complaint was that the wi-fi was very weak and was rarely strong enough to get online.
The family that owns this motel/resort are very friendly and accommodating. Everything is very clean. The sunset view is so gorgeous and lasts for an hour. Went to the peninsula and found a great taco truck owned by the same restaurant we went to for barbecue. Federal hill smokehouse. Unbelievably good. Also, found a great. Restaurant called pineapple Eddie’s. Great food with Caribbean flair. Another family run business.
Had a long weekend with no plans so decided to tour NW PA just because we’ve never been there. Found Lakeview on TA and noted they had an airstream RV available, right on the lake, etc. Never been in an RV though had been thinking of getting one. The motel description also gave off that lake resort feel I was used to growing up (I used to run a lake resort) so the wife and I gave it a shot. TA did not disappoint as it was just how we expected it to be and it was near perfect. Family staff very friendly and easy check-in. A minor nice touch was the fob for the RV was the exact same kind we used for our resort 40 years ago. Felt like I was back home. The RV was nice and modern though turns out not our thing - too cramped and shakes with every step - not sure if this is true for all RVs but cured us of considering them. But had two TVs, full kitchen to include fridge, propane stove, microwave. Comfy main bed. Pull out sleeper was very uncomfortable IMO. Hot but small shower. Did not see a blow dryer so recommend bringing your own if needed. Motel site includes a small motel plus several cabins tucked into the woods. No issues parking. Our RV had a nice picnic table out front. Awesome view on a cliff overlooking Lake Erie that the owners support with several Adirondack chairs and a nice comfy hammock - clouds came in to ruin the sunset but still a nice way to end the day. There are stairs leading down to the lake though I would use with caution as they are very steep and in some places approach more of a ladder than stairs and it is a ways down. Once on the bottom - they say there is a small beach but all I saw was seaweed and a rocky cliff shore. I would not recommend letting kids down there by themselves, nor consider going down if any question of health. But it is beautiful coastline. If you want a beach, there are several within a short drive either way. We enjoyed rock hunting on these beaches and noted swimming was allowed though nothing close to Florida-type beaches;). Site has a heated swimming pool (open 9am to dusk I believe), small kids playground and a volleyball net. Overall good quiet family vibe that we enjoyed. As far as nearby amenities, note there is a walmart within 10 minutes. We also had awesome pizza at Donatos - ask the motel front desk if they deliver (we picked up as within 10 minutes as well). Motel is also in beautiful wine country, and about 30 minutes from Presque Isle. Highly recommended but we will stay in the motel or cabin next time - it was fun to try the RV, especially the iconic airstream, but it just wasn’t our thing.…
We found this gem after needing a last-minute reservation, we spent one night here in February, so my review is rather limited in scope. Due to it being February we could not experience the amenities such as the pool and lake, however, I can easily see how this place would be a great spot for a lake vacation. The pictures of the motel on this site are very accurate as to the rooms and grounds. Our room was clean and the service was fantastic. The owners/staff could not have been nicer. If you're interested in eating at any of the local restaurants, definitely make reservations, they tend to get packed and you'll wait a long time without a reservation.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at lakeview on the lake. We would never go anywhere else. This location is close to local wineries and close to the bay side. The first time we came we stayed in the airstream which was a wonderful experience. The second time we stayed in the romantic sweet. We loved this more as it was much more spacious. The owners are so friendly and the rooms are very cabin country feeling with modern amenities. The view is beyond any view to wake up to. If your looking for something outside the city that has a warm home feeling this is the place to stay. Will definitely be our home away from home. We will be coming back year after year.
Wonderful and quiet place by lake Erie. Rustic little cabin, perfect for one night, very clean and welcoming. The owner was so kind and gave us great recommendations. Would love to come back again. Go down the steps (110) to the little beach, it is so beautiful, so worth it.
