We booked a non smoking room and got a room that absolutely had a distinct smell of smoke. There were cigarette burns in several places around the sink basin also. Lastly, we were on the second of three floors (room 236) and water was leaking from the ceiling. Mold and staining were present so it has been an issue for awhile. I like this hotel and have booked rooms as far back as 2017. I hope that repairs will be made and the other rooms are in better condition. My concern is that this was not an isolated incident. This is our favorite Erie hotel and I am very disappointed.
Rooms recently renovated were clean and comfortable. Ours included a microwave and mini- refrigerator. The bed was comfortable and the hotel and area were quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The young lady working the front desk (Alexis) was friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our interactions with her during our 3 day stay. Breakfast was labeled as continental but included more than I think of as continental - breakfast sandwiches, juice, coffee, cereal, bagels, English muffins, bread for toast and a large variety of pastries. We would recommend this hotel looking for a budget hotel that is clean and comfortable with nice amenities including a pool which we also took advantage of using. We look forward to returning some day.
Checking in was very easy, rooms were great size bathroom clean and shower pressure was great. The out door pool needs to be kept up to date and cleaned. It was full of bugs and the temperature was very cold
Reserved five rooms one year in advance for family, needed them together they were on two different floors and opposite ends of the hotel. There a very limited selection for breakfast, cold cereal, muffins, pop tarts or toast.
When we arrived, the refrigerator was not working. We needed a refrigerator for my medication. The response at the desk was that she would write it down. Four hours later, we inquired at the desk about the refrigerator and once again were told from a different person that she would write it down. T complicate matters, our air conditioner was making a banging sound which prevented us from hearing our TV and most importantly from sleeping. The response once again was that she would write it down. No effort was made by management to rectify the problem. We never had a problem with a Best Western Hotel or any of its affiliates in the past. Since we visit in Erie periodically, we would definitely avoid staying at this hotel.
Clean and average stay. Staff was working hard to fix some broken doors and other minor items while we were there. Beds were comfy and location was quiet even though close to busy road. Breakfast area was spacious and decent choices.
Stayed 1 night..location was great just outside of entrance to Waldameer and Presque Isle....got the AARP rate with nice large room with pool view....bed is a little squeaky but other than that had a good night's rest....would definitely stay again
I pre-paid for a week's stay using an internet booking site. Upon check in, they held an "incidentals" in the entire amount of the booking. After checking out, the incidentals charge was removed. Three days later, a charge shows up on my card for the room I paid for. The employee had, apparently, put in an incorrect number and FRAUDULENTLY put unauthorized charges on my card days after everything was squared away. The manager said it would take 5-10 working days to reimburse. IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS. Incompetence is never okay. Unauthorized charges should be illegal. Oh, wait, I think they are. Called parent company...and am STILL waiting for my reimbursement of the money.
Clean rooms. Lovely outdoor pool. Close to restaurants, Presque Isle, shopping, etc. Highly recommended. Plenty of parking. Free coffee. Only drawback is an extra charge for microwave and refrigerator in room.
After I booked the room online, I received a confirmation email that said the room had no mini fridge or microwave. I called the front desk, they told me there is a small up charge and it would be added. When I arrived, I asked the front desk if my room had them and I was informed they didn’t. They were sold out for the night so I couldn’t get a room with one. Also, under the night stand and bed was a few pieces of trash that could have easily been picked up by housekeeping.
