Staying at the Filbert B&B is one of the best decisions we have ever made for a Family event. The former General Store and beautifully designed and manicured grounds made this stay a memory we will all hold for a lifetime. The rooms are so spacious and comfortable we didn’t want to leave for our family events! For our Grandsons the visit was like a living history lesson. The home is richly decorated and furnished with amazing and beautiful period pieces and artifacts rarely seen outside of a museum. Its location so very close to the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Mountain Ski Resort with its stunning views and year-round activities was just an added bonus. As a wedding venue or for any other special gathering you simply will not find anything better… anywhere. The breakfasts were delicious and so generous that lunch became an afterthought. Sitting in the rockers on the front porch or relaxing in the back garden area was so peaceful that any stress we felt evaporated. Playing cards around the dining room table in the evenings brought our family closer together than anything we have experienced in years. However, the real “Gem” in this story is the innkeeper, Kathy. Her attentiveness, thoughtfulness, and remarkable mastery of the history of the B&B and surrounding area made each of us feel more like long-absent family members than first-time guests. We will be back, and soon!

We attended a wedding at Woodstone Country Club and stayed the evening at the Filbert Bed and Breakfast. Kathy was very accommodating in allowing us to register early in order to attend the wedding. Our room was very comfortable. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast which consisted of an omelette, potatoes, bacon and coffee and tea. The food was farm to table. Everything was very fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend the Filbert BnB.

We were treated like royalty during our stay. The grounds were immaculate as were the rooms. The area is rolling farmland with lots of stone houses and barns. We highly recommend and will be back. We ate at the Pointe Phillips Hotel and enjoyed it immensely.

The place has no privacy at all. I felt like walking on eggshells. Was not even able to talk with my wife. Not able to walk comfortable the wood floors make a lot of noise. Breakfast only french toast and sausage and tea or coffee. The iron bed is making so much noise hitting the walls even when you turn over. The TV receiver in the room was not working. We texted her that we are leaving because its not comfortable, she didnt even bother to reply. I gave her cash 360 was total. She had to give me 8 back she said she will give in the morning but she did not even talk about it. I did not mind about that 8 dollars but now that i was bothered of that place i wanted to say this.

I paid for 2 night. I didnt stay for the second night because it was so uncomfortable. We bought some lunch. She was telling us that we should eat in the dinning room. We were not comfortable in the room at all that she didnt even want us to eat in the room. She was talking nice thats why i did not say anything to her.

Whoever considers to stay here should know anything you speak in the room (even quietly) that will be heard by the next rooms which are one on the right another in the left. Any step you take in the room will make noise, perhaps adding carpets would help.

My boyfriend treated me to a birthday weekend here a few weeks ago. We were blown away! We were greeted at the door by Kathy and Sue. They are so welcoming and friendly. We got the tour and went to our room. They have different rooms here. Much like a quaint adorable house. You really feel at home. For my birthday, my boyfriend requested flowers and a wine and cheese tray. It was gorgeous! The tray was more like a basket and had lots of goodies, including a bottle of wine and two glasses. The flowers were gorgeous too and sat on the electric fireplace in the room. The whole place had Victorian decor and was way too cute for words! The main dining pallor and common space were decorated for Christmas and again it was gorgeous. The owner, Kathy served us a fantastic, elegant breakfast complete with eggs from her farm homestead, bacon from her brothers farm and muffins she made that morning. I felt like a princess here. We wished we booked more nights there but we will when we visit again. I can't say enough about Filbert Bed & Breakfast. If you want quaint, quiet, romantic and great service this is the place for you!

My 19 year-old son and I stayed at the Filbert B&B for two nights and also made use of Kathy's hiker shuttle services as we spent a few days on the Appalachian Trail. On both fronts, Kathy was incredibly accommodating and helpful. The Filbert itself is a lovely old house with some really charming qualities, and Kathy does a lot to make guests feel welcomed. You can tell that she really cares. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious -- farm-fresh eggs, pancakes, fruit, bacon, sausage -- you get the idea. An AT thru-hiker like my son can eat A LOT, and she made sure he had his fill. Having grown up in the area, Kathy is a wealth of information about local attractions and resources. What's more, Kathy was very flexible and accommodating as to our schedule, which changed a few times due to our hiking plans. With her hiker shuttle services, she surprised us with tall glasses of lemonade at one pick-up after a long hike. She also brought our car to us at another location, even though it would have been easier just to pick me up and return me to my car an hour away. It was indicative of her thoughtfulness and literally "going the extra mile(s)" to be helpful.

We stayed here while attending a family gathering in the Poconos. It was a great escape.
The house is beautifully decorated, every detail. The room was also beautifully decorated, but still incredibly comfortable (what a nice bed, ahhh!!!!). The breakfast was delicious, a perfect start to the day.

While hiking the Appalachian Trail in this area, I had the pleasure of staying two nights at Filbert. The home and property are unique and very nice. My room was spacious, the bathroom was large and nice, and everything was very clean. Kathy is an outsanding cook and the breakfast's were excellent (many items home-grown on her farm). For hikers, Kathy is very helpful and has it figured out. She shuttled me from the trail as well as nearby gaps so that I could slack-pack. She offers laundry service and stopped in town for me to make purchases. I have hiked 1300 miles of the AT and this is my best stay yet. Thank you Kathy!

Kathy picked us up on a frigid March day at the trail head. We were given clean things to wear while our laundry was done. Given the menus for local deliverable far. We took her recommendation and were pleased with the result. The rooms were luxurious with period furnishings. Breakfast was amazing and included plenty of farm fresh eggs and good coffee..

This was our second trip to the Filbert Inn. Each time we have had the house virtually to ourselves. Our suite did not have airconditioning as it was listed in the amenities. The grounds of the property are beautiful but there was no outdoor furniture to enjoy it. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The home is very clean and well decorated. The beds are a little too soft for my preference. All in all it is a nice place to stay in the area as lodging is limited.

Hi, We did not stay in that particular suite but both rooms that we booked had pull down shades that kept the sun out in the morning. Both of our rooms had their own bathroom. Sorry if I couldn't be of more help.

"Although a room was unnecessary for our event, the location to the ski slope in the winter is great. It also would be a delightful place to stay at any other time of the year....especially to enjoy a romantic fall foliage weekend."
