We had a one bedroom suite. It was very nice and clean. It was quiet when we visited. We enjoyed our stay overall. We are retired and enjoy the relaxing style here. Our first time. We're Worldmark Owners and used our credits to do an exchange so we could be closer to our home (about an hour and 15 minutes away). Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. We're used to WorldMark amenities and this one measures up nicely in that regard except for the A/C system which is a portable one. We had to use the fan at night to keep air movement going. One suggestion I'd give to the resort management is to remodel the bathroom shower in Unit 1A. It's so old it is yellowing and is not up to standard even though it is clean. The walking path to the Salmon river is amazing and a real pleasure. If you go here, and you are able to handle the walking, seeing the Salmon river up close is a real treat! Plus it was berry season, so I picked some blackberries and we enjoyed them at breakfast. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this place will fit the bill in my opinion.…
The resort was in a convenient location near lots of outdoor recreation. We enjoyed the pool by the clubhouse. There was a nice changing area, and they provide towels too. They also had a selection of puzzles you could borrow. There is a gym, but we didn't really use it. There is a small playground next to the clubhouse as well as a woodsy hiking path that takes you by the Salmon River. we liked picking blackberries growing by the path! If you're into golf, that is right next to the accommodations too. Would stay here again.
We stayed in a condo with our 5 grandkids. It was perfect. 2 bedrooms and a den with single beds for 2. The kitchen was well stocked, the grounds are beautiful, and there were more TVs than I've ever seen in a rental. The kids loved the pool (Although is was not the 84 degrees we were first told.) The hot tub warmed us up after swimming, and there are lots of restaurant options within an easy drive.
We booked in a 2 bedroom loft and had a wonderful time, My first concern was the air conditioning. I booked our stay before they predicted 90+ degree weather. Our condo was nice and cool and had central air. The staff was nice and the loft was very clean. the cabinets are a bit dated, but everything else was updated. No big deal for me. The layout was nice for our family. We had the grandparents and 2 toddlers - they loved having a loft to themselves. Each loft has a nicely stocked kitchen and a BBQ on your own deck. NICE! The pool was nice and well used by the many families staying there. The water was too cold for me. I stayed in the spa, but the kids were in and out of it all day. The amenities were nice and there were a lot of activities to keep the kids occupied. My daughter would like to request a swing - the one thing that she loves the most on playgrounds. There are hikes and restaurants close by - Skibowl is an easy 15 min drive away. We enjoyed our stay here and will most likely be back.…
This was our first visit to Welches. It was very nice, relaxing and enjoyable. The people were friendly, the restaurants were good. There is golfing, hiking, site seeing, etc. Highly recommended for a 3 day getaway.
I had a reservation at Whispering Woods in Welches, the night of Thursday, June 23. (I made the reservation on May 15, via Priceline). We had a hard time finding the property – it’s well hidden off of Highway 26. There are no signs to offer directions to the property. If you aren’t following Google Maps closely, you won’t find the property. You won’t see any signs until you’re right in the driveway to the resort. We arrived at the management office at exactly 9:00 PM. The office was closed, and there were no lights on, or any sign of recent activity in the office. (The office officially closes at 9:00 PM, but on this evening, it was closed tight as a drum at this time). I used the outside wired telephone to call for check-in assistance. The phone automatically dialed a number, which walked me through a phone tree, then put me on hold. I held for about 5 minutes. Nothing. Then I noticed a second number pasted next to the instructions for the after-hours phone. It was another number (503-622-3171) to call, in case the first number didn’t work. So I called the second number. Same thing. I was now on hold on two phones, one on each ear – the outside wired phone on the wall of the building, and my cell with which I called the back-up emergency number. I remained like this for at least 15 minutes. In the meantime, the friend I was traveling with walked the premises of Whispering Woods, trying to find someone on the premises who could help us. There was no one to be found (just another renter who wasn’t able to help us). So, as the sun had almost set, we were feeling rather desperate. Finally, against all odds, someone answered my cell. I explained the situation. She said she could call the contact for the property. I agreed to be put on hold while she made that call. When she got back to me, she said I should “use the door code to unlock the keybox” which was also on the outside wall of the management office. Well, that’s a great idea --except that I was never told about a keybox or code. So she had to go back to her source to get the code. From this point, forward, things worked OK. But the bottom line is this: This property appears to be under-managed, and has no interest in either being found by renters, or in giving them basic assistance in checking into their rental. Therefore, I cannot recommend the Whispering Woods.…
A very nice resort in a beautiful area, Well maintained. Love the gas grill on the deck. Relaxing atmosphere. Resort front desk is not open till 9 am and I believe closed at 8 pm, so if you have any issues it better be between those hours, i.e. like not having a spare roll of toilet paper in the unit!!
Nice quit resort set in the trees. The resort and area are starting to gear up after corvid. with many restaurants and attractions closed or open on limited schedule. A good central location for exploring the Mt. Hood area.
I loved our time at Whispering Woods Resort! It was beautiful, peaceful and everything was well maintained. The employees were friendly and helpful. It was in a convenient location. .It was the perfect retreat for my family.
The property and grounds are amazing! The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for a week. The only issue we found was that the walls were somewhat thin and we could hear a baby crying next door. Thankfully, a box fan was provided for each bedroom, and this drowned out any noise and we slept comfortably. We came when the weather was cool, but would be concerned in hotter weather, as there is no central a/c. The amenities were good, though we spent most of our time hiking and exploring this beautiful area of Mt Hood. We would definitely recommend this resort and happily stay here again.
