Stayed here for a business conference and booked a 1 King room. The hotel was fairly Uber friendly when I was dropped off. Check in went fairly well, it took a bit to get the reservation squared away, but they were friendly. Make sure your Bonvoy points are being counted!
The hotel feels a little old, but everything was in good condition. The room was spacious enough and a bit dark even with the window open. It didn't have a work desk area — just had a plush chair with a small portable table. It was ok to work from for a little bit, but wouldn't do it for hours at a time. It had a decent view even with construction happening right outside. The bed was super comfortable with clean linens and pillows. The fridge and safe were great to have in the room.
The bathroom was good size and had a large counter for all my items — it made getting ready much easier. Shower was fine, towels were clean and had upgraded amenities.
The overall room was quiet enough, but I did hear a bit of the construction and street noise below. The area is quite nice as it's a block from a walking path on the waterfront. I ran around the area and it felt quite safe even in the early morning. There were quite a bit of people out being active.
Attending the conference there was decent. Rooms were large, not too cold and the staff was accommodating.
Check out was ok, they didn't count my Bonvoy points at first, so be sure to get all receipts in case you need to go to Marriott to report the stay.
Quick note: Be sure to visit the VooDoo Donuts walking distance from the hotel! There's a decent amount of restaurants and shopping walking distance and the area is quite Uber-friendly too.

Mister Aseen was of great assistance, and assisted as good as he could to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Portland, and everyone, was extremely supportive. Especially the Gentlemen in the Blue Shirt at the M Club Lounge was tip-top, and did the very best he can. What was quite surprising, that in the Marriotts BonVoy App, it specifically says that overnight parking is US$ 17 / night, and that the destination fee is US$ 25, and when I reached the hotel, I was told that there is no self parking and that Valet costs US$ 54 / night. Truth to be told, outside overnight parking is free and it just US$ 14 for early bird parking at the Crown Plaza parking. What is quite odd is, that it rains quite a lot and the connecting bridge on the 3rd floor is underwater most of the time, it looks like this is the only swimming pool they got left at the Marriott. (Refer to photos). That I hung out my Don't Disturb Sign and housekeeping still knocked on my door, this is kinda rude, but no hard feelings here, it was approximately 335 and my checkout was at 0400pm. Breakfast contained, at least, some fruits, which was awesome. Room was excellent, nice view over the river, and especially Ms. Grace did her best to accommodate my destination fee packages at her very best. There have been a great variety of options available, which included tickets for an art museum, Whiskey tasting, f&b credit (I got 5 x Gatorade and a Red Bull), a welcome gift (which is usually popcorn, but they were running out of it, and i went for a chocolate bar instead), and a bike voucher for 60 minutes, however, it was Sunday, and closed, therefore to be used next day, however, it was raining cats and dogs, the next day. Liked their gym, it was absolutely fine, all good.

One of the best hotel in Portland. It located right in front of the water and has a great view. I arrived on the weekend when there are some protest going on in the downtown. The staffs explained us about the situation and told us to check with the front desk for any updates. They even told me the area to avoid. There is lots of differences of service during covid, they do not offer housekeeping service unless we ask, but that is okay for us as we are only stayed there for 2 nights and I can call the front desk anytime for any stuffs we need (extra towels, utensils, etc) and they come so quick! They also provide sanitizing wipes in the room (this is my first hotel that provide this during COVID) Really recommended this hotel :)

For being on the river front you'd except maybe some kind of fish smell but no, our room and the entire hall way smelled like straight up sewer. We complained to the front desk and all we wanted was some air fresheners and maybe some fans but the front desk stated they were all out. What kind of hotel doesn't keep some on standby? the lobby bathrooms smelled like someone recently smoked drugs in it. I wouldn't stay here again.

I booked a room at the Portland Waterfront Marriott so that I could participate in an evening social event in one of its conference rooms and not have to drive home late that night. I felt that the room rate was high but was willing to splurge as I would enjoy a room overlooking the river. I was then shocked that I had to pay $49 to park my car in their lot. When I went to my room there was no complimentary bottle of water, instead I could purchase a bottle for $5. Finally, my view was of streets, and not of the river. What a major disappointment for my time there. The downtown of Portland is suffering economically, and this hotel is not doing anything to support an increase in tourists in the downtown zone by charging exorbitant rates.

This hotel was just right for our stay. We had a room with a beautiful river view, and there were clear skies with a view of Mt. Hood. The room itself was very comfortable and I slept great here. The location is well suited to walk or catch the light rail around the City Center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wished the hotel had better breakfast options, since we had much better breakfast options at a different Marriott property on this trip.

We recently spent 3 days at the Marriott and were quite pleased. We had a bit of a mixup when we first checked in but it was taken care of quickly and to our satisfaction. The hotel is easy to access from I5 north and has their own parking garage. Our room had a river view (which I recommend) and a small balcony. We also had access to the M club, which was definitely worth the extra fee. The room was quiet and clean and room service was very good. The staff was thoroughly professional, efficient and nice. The only problems we had involved a couple of issues with the fixtures in the room and were quickly addressed. We also enjoyed a daily walk along the lovely park which stretches for miles along the river.

Worst Marriott hotel ever. Old rooms without USB ports for recharging cellphones. Requested a wake up call which never happened. Maids delivered towels upon request but did not bring what was asked for. When making reservations I was told that airport shuttle runs only on weekends due to COVID. Well I tried to schedule that shuttle and was told it did not operate on Sunday. Last I knew Sunday was part of the weekend. Waited 1 1/2 hours for a local taxi to a restaurant. Uber and Lyft were not available, probably because the drivers were on unemployment. The waterfront area was smelly and dirty. The restaurants did not jack up their prices, but most decent hotel rooms cost between $400-700 per nite.

This is a very nice hotel in downtown Portland and it's quite far from the airport. Uber wanted to charge me $80 for a ride there so I took the Light rail which cost $2.50 and you just gave to walk a couple of streets down. The restaurant is open but you better make a reservation because seating is limited. You can walk to the waterfront from the hotel or walk to nearby restaurants.

I was hoping for a better stay from a Marriott. The staff was friendly throughout our stay. The rooms were very disappointing. The linens had a very heavy perfume smell. It made it hard to sleep, even after we aired out the room for a few hours. It gave me an awful headache and made me wonder what they were masking with that perfume. The beds are very low. At first we thought we got an accessible room. But all the rooms had short beds. The rooms were big and fairly clean. The bathroom was small but clean. The ac is very very loud. Think about an airplane landing in your room while you’re trying to sleep. Between the perfume and ac noise we didn’t not get any sleep. We also got charged an extra $8 for something we don’t know what on a second bill after we checked out. The staff didn’t know too much about the area, we asked for restaurant recommendations and asked if the neighborhood was safe for an evening walk. They didn’t know much about either. The area is very quiet

I would think 19 should be fine but to be safe I would say call the front desk or the Marriott reservation line for the proper answer. Since I am a bit older that is not one I’ve never had to inquire on so sorry I’m not much help on this.
There are more places to choose from in the Portland area.
