Hotel's Favorite
I want to personally thank Gordon and his entire staff for making my trips here so personable and welcoming! You people are like a family to me. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is traveling into the Portland area.. it is walking distance to the light rail station that will take you directly downtown. Please don’t mind the homeless people they don’t bite. They can look at Tad bit scary but the hotel is absolutely beautiful and SAFE! They are doing everything to earn your business. I would highly recommend this hotel. Just south of Vancouver Washington, and only a short joint to downtown.

My stay was very, very, good. The staff was Excellent. I slept like a baby. Ill be back.
the ice machine was not working on the 3rd floor. The room looked great and i like how the door handle was covered with plastic and a sticker between the door and trim to indicate that the room had not been used and has been cleaned.

The hotel has an excellent quality-price ratio. Breakfast was included (nothing special, but in any case you avoid having it outside, which involves additional expense) and the room was complete with everything and clean, even with a mini fridge. Next to the hotel there is a mini market. We also took advantage of the do-it-yourself laundry inside the structure. Lots of homeless people outside, even though they never bothered us. Location a little distant from downtown, but as we had a car this didn't pose a problem.

On checking in I was asked how often I wanted the room cleaned! It was suggested to me every other day as I was staying “so long” (nights 5) but to my surprise the room was only cleaned after the first night…
The surroundings are also not very pleasant with a lot of hobos sleeping in tents and spreading garbage around.
On the positive side the Wi-Fi was very good and the food and service at breakfast was even better.
In summary, not a place to recommend nor revisit.

Around the hotel there is a lot of homeless people but the hotel was clean and all staff were wonderful and helpful. The only very bad thing about the hotel is how many men were without mask by were they coffee and breakfast To go is served and no social distancing whatsoever. In my opinion coffee shouldn’t even be served (that is why there is coffee maker in the room) and breakfast should be handed by someone. I loved the hotel and staff but I will not be coming back to a place where COVID guide lines are not being followed.

We are encouraging guests to wear their masks as required by our government mandate. We request all guest put on their masks when they enter the door. We have signs posted throughout the hotel requesting masks to be worn in public areas. We have had long discussions with many guests about the mandate. We are doing our best to get everyone to comply. As fellow travellers we understand your concern and apologize for the actions of others that made you feel uncomfortable during your stay.

All my family knows this is where we stay. Never have any of us been disappointed. I came to see my new great grandchild. When my grandson-in-law asked where I was staying, my granddaughter said where we always stay. I really liked the upgrade. Thank you.

I got in very late. Check in took a little bit of time, which was whatever, but my room and the hotel room itself smelled a bit weird.
Like moisture, I suppose.
It’s an older hotel so the floors creek and the key cards don’t work if they are near your cell phone.
The elevator I took was terrible and slow. Thought I was going to get stuck in it.
I am a choice privileges member, but don’t know if I’d entirely recommend this hotel.
A bonus was the round the clock security for the parking lot and the ability for the front door to only be opened via key card due to the homeless populations.

I have been staying here for Many. Many years and have seen staff turn over and over. But they always get in New wonderful people! I can't thank everyone enough for this visit! Its a great Hotel within walking distance to the light rail which I Love because it will take you everywhere all day for $5.00. Downtown ect...
If you are scared of the Homeless then just don't come to Portland! They are everywhere and Yes Close to the Hotel. BUT PLEASE don't let that Scare you! They are Homeless and typically Never bother you. I have Never had a problem and I walk back from the Light rail late at night in the dark. The Hotel now has 24hr security just to make everyone feel comfortable .Not because its unsafe! They Rarely and I will say Rarey ever have a problem. Hotel is locked for your security just like every Hotel in this entire city! Please don't feel unsafe if you chose to stay here! They look out for there guests so you will be comfortable and choose to stay here again and again, I know I have! For Many, Many years! They told me the Hot breakfast is back, but I have not been able to take advantage of it because the beds are so comfortable I just want to sleep in but when I did in the past it was amazing. Thanks again everyone! Cant wait to see you in Fall

I reserved a wheelchair accessible room and was dumbstruck at what was considered ADA compliant. The bathroom wasn't even close to being accessible. The door opened into the room, making it impossible to close unless I rolled into the shower and folded my footrests to turn around. Even though a shower chair was provided, the configuration of the narrow shower to the bathroom made it near impossible to transfer; my husband had to assist me. There was only one grab bar, which was installed on the wrong wall!
Access to the toilet was a joke. The space was so narrow, I had to back into the room to get close.
We will never stay at this hotel again.

Clean good sized rooms. However had to lift bathroom door into place to shut it. Heating was noisy. Wifi didn’t work in the room but we were not told that on arrival. Breakfast was included, supposedly, but only cereal, fruit, pastries. There were toasters but no bread. However on our last morning we went for breakfast at 9:20 (it finished at 10) to find they had run out of everything. We were told they had underestimated. Never come across this in a hotel. At a push they could have gone to the mini mart next door for supplies. No offer of a refund for the breakfast we had paid for

The suites are not in our price range for our stay. That's why I'm trying to determine the actual square footage between the rooms that we can choose from. Is there much difference in room size between the single King vs two double beds?
no they dont offer almond milk. store is on site at end of hallway.
Yes, lots of space, but getting into the complex can be a little confusing. Be sure to use the driveway closest to the mini-mart. There's another driveway real close but that leads into the lot of a very nice Elmer's Restaurant.
We are located 7.5 miles from the convention center. It is about a ten to fifteen minute drive or a half hour by the Max train.
Closest public transport (C-TRAN train is on the other side of the I-5 freeway.. A fairly long walk, but the hotel does have a good complimentary shuttle that would likely give you a ride to the train.
