Hotel Lucia receives accolades for its unique blend of modern and vintage charm, with guests enjoying the cozy and stylish atmosphere. The rooms are lauded for their comfort and cleanliness, although a few guests mention they are on the smaller side.
While the hotel's central location is a hit for its convenience to attractions, some guests advise watchfulness over additional costs. The array of amenities, including arcade games and social hours, coupled with the hotel's commendable service, solidify its reputation as a welcoming retreat in the city.

Very nice hotel, comfortable hotel. Funky lobby with a free-play arcade and functional gym. Great location downtown and quick check-in. Philip who worked at the Valet was especially helpful with information on parking. There is an overnight parking garage across the street that allows in-and-out access

My husband and I found this place on Airbnb, at first glance we thought "there's no way that's the correct price, the place looks too nice" but indeed, Hotel Lucia is priced ridiculously well. Now, we are the type of people who are perfectly happy stopping during a road trip at a Holiday Inn Express or a La Quinta, we rarely splurge on what we call a "real hotel" usually because they get so expensive so quick and our trips tend to be just quick over night needs. But we wanted to stay in the city of Portland to at least get some kind of feel for the city, even during this Covid time. Enter Hotel Lucia. It's super easy to find with a large loading zone for your car. It's free parking on the street until 8am if you're getting in later, but the parking garage literally right across the street is $24 for 24 hours. Now I don't know how much experience people here have parking in a city, but my husband and I have parked a car in NYC, L.A. and Downtown San Diego. It's either really difficult or super expensive and that was definitely not the situation for us at this hotel, which is always a nice way to start your stay. The front desk was beyond helpful. Quentin made the check in super easy and fast. The staff was all dressed in their correct PPE. They even offered to bring our bags up to our room for us, which again, some of you normal hotel goers may be thinking "duh, it's a hotel" but that isn't normal for us and it felt very welcoming. They also offer complimentary alcoholic beverages. Score! And the MOST important part is that they are dog friendly and were super happy to have our pup stay with them. See the attached picture of our sweet boy and his VIP spot! Now, the rooms are small but they list the square footage on the website so if you get "surprised" by that, then you gotta read more closely. Our dog had plenty of room to sleep on his own bed and we had room for our luggage. Which I'll remind the readers again, we aren't high maintenance people so we fit all of our stuff into one big bag that we are sharing. If you're the type of traveler that over packs, then you may have a slight issue fitting everything into your room. But I would never say that's a reason to skip this hotel. Our experience was beyond amazing. After settling in our room, we were having a hard time deciding on food. The staff downstairs are obviously locals and told us exactly where to go. And ON TOP OF ALL THAT they set up a movie in the banquet hall JUST FOR US! We ate our food watching Family Vacation and got our Voodoo Donuts delivered which they brought into the room as well. While we were in there alone, it could have safely fit at least 4 more couples. Everything was safely set apart so multiple people could have shared the space within guidelines. If you find yourself staying in Portland I could not recommend this hotel enough!

Hotel Lucia (HL) is now a staple in our places to stay while in Portland. It’s downtown location gives it great access to public transportation (TriMet train) to explore the city. The exterior is well lit specifically the SW Harvey Milk St. side where I was able to take a smoke break & not break any rules. To those who are uncomfy when encountering the homeless, take a breathe and simply give them a firm “no” as you keep walking. This part of Portland shouldn’t deter you from staying & exploring downtown or HL. Living in LA, it’s unfortunately part of our city life. If it makes you uncomfortable, just make sure you vote for laws that provide support to our fellow citizens.
Moving on! The interior is chic with artwork throughout that’s invoke some conversation. The lobby is clean, warm & welcoming. While always thinking of ways to social distance & still see our family, we were able to snag a corner in the back of the lobby and enjoy cocktails with our parents safely. Guests are encouraged to lounge in the lobby space as you’ll seem some reading or on their laptops.
The staff at HL and The Crown (restaurant attached to the hotel) always gave us great customer service and accommodated our wants as best they could. Managing this hotel during these times to ensure all are safe from COVID-19 while also being sensitive to the needs of those evacuating from the current fires destroying portions of Southeast Oregon...man, hats off to housekeeping, Brandon and all the staff at HL!
Now to the rooms. If you love views, grab a room on the upper floors. Comfortable beds (not too firm and not too soft) along with plush pillows that offered support. Small bathrooms but that’s to be expected when staying in historical buildings (this also means the walls can seem thin but depending on your tolerance & who your neighbors are, it’s not a biggy). So I could on & on, but honestly great customer service & clean, comfortable rooms are all I need to enjoy my stay where I’m exploring a city or seeing family.
Oh and as an African American female who was traveling with my partner 🏳️🌈, I felt safe and comfortable.

A last minute weekend getaway to PDX found us at Hotel Lucia, and having never stayed there before, but a 2-4 times a year visitor to PDX, we had modest expectations for the room, hotel and what it had to offer. First we arrived to find ourselves at a location on Broadway that is strolling distance to shops, restaurants, night life, shopping, icons of PDX, and certainly things not yet discovered. The staff was warm and authentic, professional yet personable, with a willingness to go the extra mile to make our stay special. We had a suite, w two full baths and a very comfy king sized bed with full king sized pillows. The room lighting is dimmable and the windows open creating a fresh, inviting evening atmosphere setting a stage for a perfect couples getaway. The wife was very happy with the entire weekend. I was very happy with the price and central location that made walking to the Saturday morning PSU farmers market, the Saturday afternoon waterfront market and the breweries in the Pearl District. Apparently they have bikes to borrow, but we were content with letting our feet take us where they may on a lazy meandering warm June day.

Hotel Lucia went above and beyond to accommodate for a friend and I as we were visiting inner Portland for the first time! We checked in on a Friday and stayed through Sunday. Problem was, we were both working from home Friday and had to move from a vacation rental at 11am, but checkin wasn’t until 4pm. The staff at hotel Lucia went above and beyond by taking our bags early and setting us up in the conference room so our work would not be disturbed. Fast forward to Saturday night, we texted the virtual concierge about a microwave and without hesitation the desk sent one up to our room! Our checkout Sunday was a breeze and the hotel offered to hold our bags for the day until our evening flight that night so we didn’t have to lug around heavy suitcases on our last day in Portland. Not to mention the Hotel itself is beautifully designed with unique features that create a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you to Hotel Lucia and it’s wonderful staff who helped make our trip to Portland easy and memorable.

Where to start...the AC did not work, the thermostat was dangling off the wall by its wires. The window openly just a crack and there was no screen. They had no fans but gave us a broken box fan out of the lobby that sounded like a small airplane. Everything in the bathroom was rusted (sink, towel rack, shower curtain, faucets). The obnoxiously loud group of completely plastered guys that careened off the walls, spit on the hallway carpeting repeatedly and then made crazy amount of noise in their room was the icing on the cake. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights and left after just one. When the valet brought my car around not only had they left empty plastic water cups in my cup holders they had marked the hotel location on the GPS. I wish I knew the mileage as I'm pretty sure they took it out for a joy ride over night. There are so many other options in the same price range, including directly across the street which is where we moved to. Use your money wisely!

Hi Michelle, This absolutely does not sound like our standard. Our team works hard to ensure that our old building is kept in good working order and will do whatever we can to ensure that our guests leave happy. If you have time, I'd love to talk about this entire stay to get details and ensure that we don't make the same mistakes again.

My flight was hours late and I was coming in the middle of the night. I was greeted with a couple of free snacks and a drink even though I missed the 6pm - 9pm window for those amenities. Every day the staff was incredible. I had my laundry done as a courtesy and it was included as an amenity by 1 staff member even though this isn't hotel policy. When my windshield got dusty from my day to a bunch of waterfalls, I requested a rag and spray to clean it, and the staff readily obliged. When I needed to check out a bit late, they allowed me to park my car in front of the hotel to avoid paying for another day at the lot across the street until I was ready to leave. This hotel is very safe and secure. The front doors lock at night and you can't get access without a room key or having a staff member open the door for you. The elevator doesn't even budge to get to a floor with rooms without you swiping your room key. Please note at the time of my stay, there was a clearly mentally off person at a nearby corner at some point every day, but they were easily avoidable. The bulk of the homeless problem is a few blocks away, but it is also avoidable, so it is possible to stay safe in this town. The hotel was pricey, but I felt very secure inside the hotel. They also switched my room for me when I asked for one with a window that faced the street. They were also accommodating the many times I asked them to refill my water bottle daily. The "mirror" in the exercise room was fun. The seating area in the lobby was a great resting place well-lit with skylights. The seats facing the street by the elevators was a perfect place to have lunch. I sometimes saw people comfortably doing work on their laptop in that area. The location is walking distance to so much. I highly recommend this hotel! I only wish it was cheaper but you get what you pay for.

Firstly, I'd just like to thank Quintin for her patience checking me in! She was quick to put me at ease and to offer the complementary alcoholic beverage when I was rambling on about how flustered I was with my day while I searched for my wallet.
She even helped me determine my favorite Truly flavor - and she was spot on!
I don't know where to start. I'm high maintenance when I travel abroad and when exploring my own city. They have the basics covered in spite of the pandemic, and I mean this place checked all the boxes - the high pressure shower head, complimentary makeup wipes, a modern safe, readily available coffee maker stationed next to the optional water bottles, and the modern "old fashioned" radio with bluetooth capabilities (thank God, River's Edge didn't even have bluetooth in their deluxe rooms)!
In addition to the essentials being covered, they had quick and kind customer service. Room service was speedy, those at the desk were not only happy but funny as well. An all around good crew and I was there for almost a week! I couldn't help but to keep extending my stay. Ultimately, the experience was both exceptional and satisfactory.

Very clean, hospitable, eclectic, affordable, and accommodating. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young woman complimenting my jacket. The checkin woman was informative, efficient, and sweet. I didn’t use the exercise room, but the fact they have the Mirror workout is super cool. If you don’t want to work out in public, they bring you weights and an iPad. They add on a $23 fee that covers room service etc, but I’d say it’s worth it if you take advantage of any of their amenities. I ordered food and it was delivered within the hour from a corner restaurant called the Independent, and it was delicious (burger and fries). 6-9 pm, you go to the front desk and get a complimentary soda or alcoholic beverage (limited selection). I walked around and took a look at all the photographs framed on the walls. Really a beautiful hotel. Their air runs constantly in the rooms, which covers most noises (save for slamming doors). The water is nice and hot, the bathroom amenities smell great, and they have plenty of towels. Robes in the large closet, laundry service also included. Cable tv, 2 phones, tiny fridge between the beds behind a discreet cabinet, great curtains, AMAZING BED, nice view of the city. Adjustable thermostat but I left it alone, I sleep better when it’s chilly. Really great place, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This property is a gem and my stay was absolutely delightful. The room I had was relatively small but absolutely quiet and extremely comfortable. Even though it was directly across from the elevators I wasn’t disturbed by hallway noise a single time.
Every contact I had with staff was a pleasure—everyone was gracious, friendly, and extremely accommodating. I got several good recommendations for meals and entertainment in the area and the location being in the heart of downtown, both are plentiful.
The lobby area is thoughtfully decorated and seemed to me to be an ideal space for meeting a group or relaxing with family or business associates.
This was a great experience and an excellent value. I will definitely be back.

The valet is worth the price! The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment you pull up until you check out. And you can rest assured that your is parked in a secure parking facility.
No, it did not. They had a restaurant associated with them, but I think because of the pandemic, it has closed down. I do need to drink a special protein drink every morning and needed hot water. They were very accommodating getting me a travel cup of hot water. they also had some "snacks" available for purchase and have a cocktail hour in the early eve. Since my husband and I don't drink, we never were in the lobby at that time to see what was offered.
Hello! Great question! We have valet available with unlimited in and out privileges for $43 a night. However, if you prefer to self park, I encourage you to still come to the hotel and get checked-in and our guys can point you in the right direction of the best places to self park. If you need anything further please let us know and we look forward to your arrival!
