Amazing service and cozy vibe. Zen was great at valet service and welcoming us to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Nice layout inside and I loved that they had someone walking around offering champagne. That was a first for us

Great looking hotel with lots of potential but falls short. From the unfriendly staff upon arrival to the lask luster room with the lack of and dirty towels. The food was lame and the dirty all around the hotel left you feeling like you should have gone elsewhere. Too bad.

I stayed at the Porter for my birthday trip to Portland. I primarily wanted to have some good food and sightsee via hiking. Here’s a breakdown: Location: The location of the hotel was fine for our purposes. Ubering from the hotel to the area around Powell’s cost us about $10 per trip with the wait & save feature (we never waited more than 5 minutes). We paid about $45 each way to Uber between the hotel and the airport. Food: In-room dining was a bit steep, but delicious. Staff was courteous and even set things up for us instead of just dropping the food off. One morning they forgot a side but it was sent up right away. Honestly, the food at the hotel was better than some of the places we tried (looking at you, Hunny Milk). -Staff: The best part of our stay. The staff here was standout. Bridgette, the housekeeping manager, was extremely helpful and so polite. Connor, Roshanna, and Dan at the front desk were fantastic from check-in to checkout. Adrianna (security) was so polite and funny! I would return here for the service alone. One evening we asked the cafe hours so we could be back in time to use the microwave. When we returned, there was one waiting for us! Go Sebastian! -The Bar: the rooftop bar (Xport?) was fun. The views are gorgeous and there’s even a dance floor. Beware, however, as the DJ on the Saturday night we went sucked. She kept playing oldies (I think I heard Teena Marie?!) and couldn’t tell that we wanted hype music. The bar does get quickly swamped, but drinks go out in good timing. They check ID at the door (it’s 21+) but interestingly you can enter with hiking boots. Maybe my city is just different. We didn’t use/visit the lobby bar, pool area, gym, meditation garden, or valet. Parking was pricey, $60/night, but that was for valet. There is a $100/night incidental hold. The TVs are not smart TVs. The lobby restaurant was nice, but the food just so-so. There is a table in the lobby with one computer and one printer. The cafe is nice and has fresh homemade donuts! It’s quite expensive, though ($7 for a Naked smoothie) but they had chips for 50% off at least? They don’t make change, either, so you have to use card, charge to your room, or have exact cash. There’s an ATM in the lobby near the bathrooms. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. We’re thinking of visiting Portland when the weather warms up, and if we do we’ll definitely rebook here!

My recent stay at this hotel was a combination of delightful and disconcerting experiences. The spa, pool, and sauna were exceptional and served as the main attractions for my booking. These amenities are a commendable feature of the hotel. However, the room’s maintenance left much to be desired, with issues like a loose bathroom holder and inadequate lighting. A more serious concern was the malfunctioning door lock, which could not be secured from the inside. As a woman, especially one who often travels alone, the inability to use the lock for extra protection was unsettling and raised significant safety concerns. The check-in process also presented unnecessary complications. Despite opting for mobile check-in and a virtual key, I was required to undergo ID verification at the front desk, which felt redundant and inconsistent with past experiences at this and other Hilton hotels. A major post-stay issue was the incorrect billing. I had checked out through the app at 10:59 am, yet I was later charged for an extra night under the claim that the front office had extended my stay at 10:15 am without my knowledge or consent. This perplexing situation, which I am still trying to resolve, is especially frustrating as I had no interaction with the front desk after my initial check-in. While the hotel’s proximity to various restaurants is a positive aspect, the cumulative effect of service inefficiencies, maintenance shortcomings, and significant security and billing concerns have led me to decide against returning. The lack of attention to guest safety and billing accuracy is particularly disconcerting for any traveler, but even more so for women traveling alone.

Perhaps the most challenging hotel stay I've experienced in quite some time. Arrival was met with the restaurant being closed. Room appeared clean, but no towels,a used laundry bag and the toilet didn't work. Changed rooms with no assistance - working toilet, but still no towels, no soap dish and a broken television. Room service order arrived - uncovered! Ordered breakfast and the butter was cold - and so was the toast. The staff is kind, attentive, apologetic and accomodating, but I expect more and better from this brand. Removing this from my firm's recommended hotel list.

Quick trip to Portland. Valet service and management was great. Only issue is the hotel has very limited amenities, no vending or store open when we returned from a concert at 10 pm so we had to "order" four (off brand) water bottles to our room which took 30 mins and $25.

I had a lovely stay at The Porter! In fact, I almost feel I stayed at a completely different property from some of the reviewers who reported issues. My room was modern, comfortable, wonderfully appointed and, though I was on the 15th floor over a weekend, surprisingly quiet. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Location is great...conveniently downtown and a few blocks from a couple MAX stops, but away from too much craziness. The Portland Exchange is such a nice bonus, too. No complaints whatsoever.
